Early Summer

It’s been a gorgeous week. Bright sunshine and summerly temperatures. Just really wonderful. If only it could last. The forecast says it’ll get colder next week, though. Pooey. I could use more summer! It’s wonderful to sit in the sun, watching the goat eat grass. And then bliss out in the pen, relaxing with full bellies. The good stuff. And it makes exercising much better too. I lost 5 pounds in 3 days. I know I can’t keep that rate up. But the sunshine and heat really makes it easier. And also the cucumbers and tomatoes.

That’s the stuff. Let’s hope we have more of this coming.

And today, happy mother’s day. To the goat and human mothers.

We wouldn’t be here without them.

Also, a new Facebook cover.

And a masterclass from Master Ping’s wonky ear.

And let’s just keep going with the goats.

And videos.

And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the next one.

Such a pretty picture with the cukes and tomatoes! Nothing says summer like fresh veggies and fruits.

We celebrated Mother’s Day with a nice brunch for Mom at my sister and her husband’s house today. We had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, cinnamon apple mini bagels, hash brown potatoes, strawberries, melon, apples, and grapes. Yummy!

It looked like it was going to rain, but didn’t so that was nice. We are supposed to have maybe 1 to 3 inches of rain in the next day or so. Glad we have inside work to do this week!

I just love your Mother’s Day photo of mama and the two baby goatzies resting in the hay. Our donkey got her annual shots this weekend and she was a very good girl. I had treats in one hand and her halter and lead rope in the other.

The treats won out and I was able to get her ready for the vet. Meanwhile I had two pesky goatzies who wanted a treat, too. Lots of paw shakes all around from those two sillies. Anything for a yummy apple-flavored treat.

Oh, the hummingbirds are back as of last Monday. We saw one male that morning and saw two birds that evening after work. On Saturday I saw at least 16 birds and two of them were females. Quite a feeding frenzy I had going on at the feeders. Glad they aren’t sharks! Hee, hee.

I love tomato season! So good. I need to get invited to one of your feasts some day! I’ll have to forget being vegetarian for a day, though!
It’s a nice memory, Mio with the baby twins. They’re so big now! All the kids are growing too fast. So it goes. Hummingbird season! Yay! Glad they weren’t sharks? Good thing they weren’t goats, I say! I’m usually in danger of being trampled at feeding tmie.
