End Of Early Summer Days

The glorious sunshine is winding down. It’s been a real treat with a little summer in spring. Now I just hope we can have some good summer in summer soon. I’m going to miss the gorgeous, hot days. The goats will probably be fine, as long as the grass is still there. And luckily it is, despite the lawn mower going the other day.

Fuzzy found some way of escaping from the pen. There must be a gap in the fence or something. I hope I’ve managed to secure it now. Peanut must have been teaching him a trick or two. Those boys. Tsk tsk. The twins are a little more well behaved. For now anyway.

Otherwise not much new. Keeping on keeping on. Doing my best.

And videos.

And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the next one.

I wonder how long the longest goat ears are in length? I’ll bet you have some long-eared winners (or at least the wonkiest ears) at the playground!

Just about the time we think it is warming up, we have some rain and a cool down period. Last night was supposed to be 38 F (32 F is freezing). I haven’t planted my summer flowers outside yet as I don’t want to have to bring them in at night or go out and cover them up.

The goats and donkey seem to enjoy any day they can get into the backyard and graze on the new grass. I think they are turning into the “Three Little Pigs” instead of two goats and a miniature donkey.

I had 12 hummingbirds at the feeders the other evening right before a storm. It was really windy and all the birds were hanging on by their toenails instead of fighting with each other. Sure made it easier to count them when they aren’t zipping around the feeders, perching in the trees, or buzzing the blooming iris and columbine.

I’ve seen photos of goats with ears all the way down to the ground. Longer than my arms probably! Palle’s remain my favourite though. We’re supposed to get some warm weather again now, fingers crossed! Can you imagine if the goaties and donkies were as fast as hummingbirds? Oh my!
