Facebook Archival System
Okay, I’m going to change things up on the blog here. A little bit. Basically, expanding the Facebook quoting. Since I don’t really blog anymore anyway, and there’s only 1 reader left as far as I know. So instead of quoting a Facebook post here and there, I’ll make this an archive of Facebook posts. Basically, we’ll have an opening paragraph or two. Depending on if there’s anything to blog about. And then all my Facebook posts from the week. And then photos. Since Facebook’s timeline is quite lacking it might be nice to actually have an archive of sorts here. And in a manner of speaking it will actually bring more content here. So why not.
Of course, most of my Facebook posts are inane jokes and pointless things. Made even more pointless without the context of the interactions and timeliness. But eh. It’ll do. If I can be bothered to keep it up. We’ll see how it goes.
Let’s try.

Good goat times today. Got off to a disastrous start though. I forgot the treat bags. My bag of raisins and my bag of peanuts. Oh dear, oh dear. I don’t think the goaties will ever forgive me. Luckily I had remembered my bag of old fruits and veggies, so I grabbed some apple slices from there and used them as treatbag. It’s not the same without the crunchy peanuts, though.
Also the weather has taken a turn to the colder. Cold enough that it starts being an issue for me. I’ll have to start dressing warmer. Even a longsleeved blouse wasn’t really good enough today. Sigh.
Other than that it was good, though. A school class came by to see the animals. They were all talking to the horses at the fence while I was in the pasture with the goats. Some of the kids called out to me. “Can you get the goats to come over here, we want to pet them”. I walked over to them and Mia and Mio dutily followed. Mio was right up to the fence and we know she enjoys her cuddles. If there’s one thing I miss about the old place it’s minging with human visitors. At this place visitors aren’t allowed to go over the fence and mix with the animals. So even when visitors do come by, it’s not quite the same. I kinda miss the screams of terror and delight when the goats get too close to a group of kids, haha. But this place luckily has some many other things to make up for it. Like the crunches of chestnuts (I think) that the goats pick from the ground under the trees of the dark forest. And knowing that they are well taken care of when I’m not around. Makes me feel less guilty when I need a timeout.

Decided to buy myself a new quilt since temperatures are dropping and it’s getting too cold at night. Figured I’d just pick up whatever cheap junk I could find at the supermarket while getting groceries. When I came to the register and checked out it was a little more expensive than I was expecting, because I hadn’t actually checked the price of the one I grabbed. Oh well, I thought. Not too bad. Then I go home and look at my receipt. Turns out that quilt was marked down about 60%. I had grabbed some expensive wellness fancy thing. Haha. Good thing it was marked down. If it had been full price I might have had a little heart attack when the cashier told me what it all came to.
I also got 18 tomatoes. Tomato season will be over soon. Better enjoy.

Today will be a good day. I woke up feeling toasty and warm under my expensive quilt. Actually the most well rested I’ve felt in a long, long time. Haha. It probably has more to do with the fact that I went to bed at a sensible hour and slept for sensible period than with the quilt. But it’s nice anyway. Hope you all have a wellnessful day.

Good goat times today. Layered clothing and a good bit of sunshine. Sweet goats. Picking more chestnuts and fallen leaves. And of course today there were plenty of peanuts and raisins. I guess I’m forgiven. I’ll forgive them for the muddy jacket. What am I supposed to no, NOT let the goats lean on me when they’re picking leaves off the trees and bushes? I have long since accepted that muddy hoofprints is just something I have to live with. And I gladly do.

And now, the weather…
Good goat times today. Shorter than I would have liked, though. Because I got so cold. Even with a blouse and a shirt and my rainy jackety thing. Walking along the highway I was just frozen to the bone and almost wanted to turn back.
We’re going into the dark times now. Literally and figuratively. For all my new friends who don’t know how much the cold bothers me, I thought I’d write a post about it. Because I feel like moaning and whining. Skip down to the dotted line if you want some more goat talk and none of the complaining.
Every since I go the diabetuus, my circulation has been wrecked and I get extremely cold. When my dad walks around in shorts and says it’s summerhot, I’m in a parka with a scarf and gloves. It makes it harder to be outside with the goats. No matter how warm I dress and how many chemical warmer I employ, I still get cooled down. I want to just sith with them all day, but in the cold period it just gets harder. At home too. Now instead of using my spaceheater to blow cold air around I have to set it to blow warm air at me. And artificial heat just isn’t the same. Even when I have two space heater blowing at me during exercise. It’s just not the same. When the cold is lurking just outside the circumference. At least my new expensive wellness quilt is really nice. I miss the old days when I’d sleep with an open window even if it was freezing. When I’d go for walks in snow blizzards. The darkness is bad too. I can’t see in the dark at all. When the sun is beaming into my apartment I can see everything. It’s like being in a big, open space. When the sun doesn’t reach my windows.. it’s like sitting in a dark hole. Just like the heat, the artificial light isn’t as good as the natural. I hate waking up on dark, cold mornings. I can’t see anything until I get up and turn the lights on. And knowing it only gets worse from here.. before long I’ll have to start every goat trip with half an hour of putting on thermal underwear and skull caps and sweaters. And there’s 7-8 months until things get better. I know I couldn’t handle the kind of temperatures some of my American friends get. I just wish I could live somewhere that had sun all year round and 25-35C/ 75-95F temperatures. If it wasn’t for the goats and the blindness and the phobia I’d move to somewhere like that.
So, it does affect me a lot, mentally and physically. That’s why I complain a lot. Also because I’m a miserable git, GET OFF MY LAWN.

Okay, back to goat talk. I don’t know what got into Mia and Mio this morning. When I arrived they started sprinting back and forth, jumping bars, butting heads, twisty turning sideways leaping. Maybe they were trying to keep warm too. Meanwhile A38 stood at a safe distance and watched and bleated at them like “Get off my pasture-lawn, you crazy kids”. I forgot who it was, but one of you guys commented on a Mia video mentioning Selma from Night Court. A38’s bleats really do remind me of her. In the best way.
I stayed out of the pen for a while, because I figured as soon as I got in they’d stop their circus act and focus on me instead. So I just stood and watched them for a while. Moving back and forth along the fence to induce more silliness. So much fun to watch. I swear big grandma Mio did a perfect jump straight up in the air. I know when I watch the video footage it won’t be as impressive as I remember it, because it seemed like a trampoline act at the time. Too much fun. And right I was, when I climbed the fence and joined them the act over. It’s more important to get treats, after all.
Just like me disrupting the circus act, I think I also disrupt the bonding a litlte between the girls. Sometimes when I arrive I see all three of them in the same general area. And the other day Ophelia told me that Jacob had told her that they were all doing something together. I forget what it was exactly. Scratching each other with their horns? Or something. But I think they get along better when I’m not there. Because when I’m there Mia and Mio just do not want to share the attention and treats. And A38 has to back off a little. I hope so anyway. It would be nice if they hung out together more when I’m not there.
And that’s all for this diatribe. Please forward all complaints to management. That’s the basketball with the face painted on it that I keep on top of the christmas tree in the basement. You’ll know it by the trail of fir.

If I’ve learned anything from those documentaries about the sharks in the tornadoes, it’s that weather is dangerous business. Here I am complaining about being a little cold, while some of you people are dealing with a hurricane. Kinda puts things into perspective. (I’m still going to complain about the cold, fyi). Stay safe, everybody!

I’m so sorry, I forgot to tell you what my favourite moment of the season premiere of Saturday Night Live was. It was the bit in the Mr Robot sketch where Leslie Jones walks back into the frame and shuffles ‘Elliott’ into the center of the shot. That made me actualy laugh out loud. Because. On Mr Robot. They always frame it. Weirdly. With people. At the side of the screen.
Well, I though it was funny. When does season 3 start?

I like Better Things. It’s not as funny as Louie, but it’s got the same kind of heart. Or maybe I’m just projecting. I liked the ending of the latest episode a lot. Good lesson. All those people who look like they have their flip together? They just put on the clothes. Even if you’re just getting by, life is still good. It has the potential, anyway.
I don’t have my flip together at all, but hey I’m here. Some people are even happy that I am. Even when I’m not, someone else might be. You don’t have to be a superhero to save the day. You don’t have to catch a falling plane to make a difference. Just put on the clothes and do your best. Unless you’re a nudist. Then you’re halfway there already.

Of all the pages on the Facebox, I think Esther’s might be the best. Note to self: Don’t argue about politics on Facebook. There’s just no point. Looks like I got myself blocked, by someone I thought was a very nice and kind person. I think that’s pretty silly when you agree on most things and have a little civilized debate. I have several friends on here that I disagree with on political matters. I don’t feel the need to block them over that. Oh well. Life’s too short. I am the ocean being warmed by the sun. Peace and love to everyone.

Well, let’s just see a picture of that magnificent quilt! We all just might want one now the way you talk about it. What color is it? Maybe you could stuff pillows under the quilt and take a picture to make us think you are still in bed.
Once I figured out your changes on the blog, I liked it. At first I couldn’t figure out why you started with comments on March 10th. Then you had comments on the 10th of every new month?
Duh! Then I remembered you write October 3, 2016 as 3/10/16. I write October 3, 2016 as 10/03/16. We put the month first then the day whereas you put the day first, then the month. Now you know why I’m your only blog reader- change is hard! As you well know.

Haha. I’m afraid the quilt is rather boring. It’s just white and looks like any other quilt. But it’s really warm and comfy, so I’m happy about it.
Just be lucky I didn’t use the olD NSPAA dating method… 161003. Year, month date. That’s still how I date my pictures and videos. It’s good for sorting files.
