Sending a hello from my dad as well, he appreciates that you’re all thinking of him. He’s been able to get his mri moved up from July 31st to this week instead, so that’s good. It sounds like he’s expecting to have to go through another round of surgery. Hopefully it will be soon and succesful. Thank you all fort he positive thoughts.

“fun” fact, as a little Danish boy I’d play with toy guns with my pals. We’d play ‘war’. Or we’d play Miami Vice, starting with deciding who was Crockett and who was Tubbs. And I guess everyone else were the bad guys, I don’t remember. It’s weird to think of now. But hey, it didn’t stop me from growing up to be an uber pacifist. I’d rather grow up with toy guns everywhere than with real guns everywhere.

Can you just imagine what would happen if a Democrat president said “I’ll have to wait and see” when asked if he’d accept the results of the coming election? Can you just imagine.
Or if pro-grun NRA demonstraters were grabbed off the streets by federal agents in unmarked vans. Jiminy crickets. You’d have people on Facebook demanding an armed militia taking over the white house.
I saw a post a couple of days ago, apparently from don jr’s fb page, with a picture showing various european flags with the caption “uses metric system” next to them and then the US flag with the caption “Been to the moon” next to it. I just had to laugh. Yeah, you’ve been to the moon. In the 70s. Right now you’re one of the countries doing the worst in a global pandemic. You can’t even get your fucking citizens to wear a mask and stay out of disney land. I kinda wanted to be snarky and ask for the image to be reposted but just with the added corona death toll numbers next to the caption. See how well you’re fucking doing compared to Europe then. But na, that’d be mean. And death toll isn’t funny. It’s not like I’m happy that America is run disastrously poorly and people are dying because of it. I may say bad shit about america, but I do love you. As indicated by the Miami Vice post below. Growing up America was a big deal to us in Denmark. It was the coooool place, with the cool movies and tv and music. These days the world is smaller and things go from America to Denmark instantly. BAck when I was a kid you had to wait 6 months or a year or more for things to get from America to us. America was the place you looked up to. Not because you landedo n the moon in the 70s though. What a weird thing to brag about whne your society is failing to live up to basic scientific advice and precautions. If you sent astronauts to the moon today they’d probably refuse to wear a helmet.

Good goat times today. Glad I got out. Everything is better with goats. The weather wasn’t too bad. A few raindrops in the morning, but some good sun later on. Temperatures just below 20C/68F which isn’t amazing, but good to be comfortable.
It looks like we have a new room mate for the goats. The duck! Quack quack. He was in the horse field when I got there. And there were little water and food bowls for him in half-roof shelter. I’m curious if he gets along with the goats upclose. That place is the only place that gives real shelter when it rains. I wonder if duckman wants to be in that small space with 6 big goaties. He doesn’t like being too close to me. He waddles away whenever I approach. Do ducks mind rain? I don’t even know. Anyway, the more the merrier. Ducks and goats in the horse field, oh my.
We had some sweet visitors at the fence too. There was a grandmother, I believe, with a couple of kids. We talked a little. One of the things I very often hear from visitors is “oh you have treats for them!”. People always enjoy watching me give treats to the goats. And the goats enjoy it too.

Uncle Treatbag! What are you doing!? You’re on the wrong side of the fence!
I jumped over the fence and took a look at the goat pen. The goats were a little disturbed since they were unable to follow.
The grass is growing quite tall in the goat pen now. I think the goats will enjoy it when they go back in there, whenever that’ll happen.

The real reason I jumped into the goat pen was to grab some of the old christmas trees from the big pile of branches. I figured the goats could use some new stuff to play with. They still like to nibble on those trees, though I can’t imagine there’s anything still edible on them. But they’re great for sharpening your horns on. Something to play around with.

Duck! Here’s our new roommate. The goats didn’t seem interested or bothered in him. They don’t like the chickens and hens, but that’s probably because they squawk and flap their wings and move around. Duckman doesn’t say much and mostly just sits still. Or waddles calmly around. I think he’s an old duck. Also, I don’t know if it’s a he or she, but I want to watch Duckman again so

Wishing a happy birthday to my mother today. Not exactly the greatest birthday with how things are going. I think she’s doing a little better, but still not great. And my dad is doing worse, he says he can barely move around now. In a lot of pain. Hopefully they’ll find out what’s wrong with him tomorrow when he goes in for the checkup and mri. No party today.

Alright, a family health update. Thanks for tuning into Henriksen’s Anatomy. General Høspitål. I don’t know.
Anyway. My dad’s back from the hospital. Got his mri and checkup. No results yet, we’ll have to wait a couple of days or 3 or 4. So, we’ll see.
Meanwhile, my mother has now been admitted to the hospital. She’s been throwing up and having diarrhea and her blood sugar has been too low and all sorts of stuff. So with all that’s been going on they thought it was better for her to go and stay at the hospital so they can take care of her and hopefully find out exactly what’s wrong and get her to feeling better. Dad says he doesn’t think it’s anything serious, but better safe than sorry and he’s not exactly in a good shape to take care of her right now.
So yeah. That’s fun, huh? I sure am glad Denmark is doing really well when it comes to the corona situation. Hopefully none of this has anything to do with any of that. But it’s hard not to worry. And if we’d been living in America I would probably have been panicking. And off to sell a kidney to afford the hospital bills or something, if my understanding of US health care is halfway correct.
Meanwhile I think I’m doing a littel better physically, but I’m having trouble sleeping for more than a couple of hours at a time and my anxiety and depression is coming in hard at times and I’m putting on weight because I’m eating unhealthily. But you know. It’s like they always say. “This is a great time to start reading a Stephen King story about the world collapsing”.

My mother has acute kidney failure. So that’s not good. Probably because she was lackign fluids? Good thing she went to the hospital. My dad was saying that he was still hoping she’d be back home in 4-5 days. I guess that all depends on whether they get her kidneys going again. Otherwise she’ll be needed dialysis/transplant, like Peter had.
Thanks everyone for the support. I apprecite it. We all do. I am going to be shutting down the facebook in a minute and going to bed early because I can’t function right now. So if my upstairs neighbours could stop drilling with the loudest drill of all time, that’d be swell. Just swell.

Hello world. How are you? Not much new here. Mom still in the hospital, they’re still doing their best to fix her up. She’s in the best hands, I know. Not much to do but wait and hope for the best. Thank you everyone for the support. I am glad I have a support system here. I appreciate you’re thinking of us.
Hope you’re all doing alright out there. I know the whole world is a mad house. I barely have the attention span or energy or clarity to do anything other than read reddit posts and watch youtube videos. It’s tkane me literally 3 days to watch 40 minutes of the new 30 Rock special. Not because I’m not liking it, but because even watching a TV show kind of is more than I’m capable of. I feel like I’m an old overused battery, even when fully charged I still get deflated after 20 minutes.
I don’t know. One day at a time I spose. Here comes Friday.

I feel like someone shook me and everything in my head got jumbled and now my brain is scrambled eggs.
Seriously though, I still occasionaly find myself having to think about how to do something that used to just be second nature. We all have these things we’ve done a thousand times that we just do without thinking about them. I feel like I have to relearn some of those things. I think my brain go fried a little that morning when I woke up with my tongue chewed up and my whole body aching. I feel like I’ve just been running out the clock since then, adrift with no purpose.
Well whatever. No substantial news about the other goings ons right now.

A new family health update. And hey, just for a change this time it’s good news, fairly so at least.
My mother’s condition is improving. Her kidney numbers (which I believe is the correct scientific term) are getting better. So that’s really really good. Let’s hope it continues this way. She’s not back to normal. But that was the big question, whether her kidneys were gone or whether they’d be able to get them going again. Seems like they are working. Not full speed, but so far so good. Dad said if it continues in this direction she might be able to come home some time next week. So I’m crossing all my fingers for that. I’m sure lots of things could still go wrong. But good news are better than bad news.
As for my dad, he’s been out walking quite a bit today, visiting mom and all, and he says that’s he’s doing ok. He’s gotteon some stronger pain meds. He got the scan results back too, and they showed that whatever is going on with him is not a problem with the surgery he had recently. That stuff is still doing well. So the pain is from something else. And if it doesn’t get better he’ll have to go back to the hospital for another examination so they can try and find the cause.
So we’ll see what happens. But outlook is better than yesterday at least.
Thanks all for the support, and for not unfriending me over boring rants and gloomy medical updates. Hopefully the goat posts balance out the scales. Unless you don’t like goat posts. In which case ,I mean I don’t know what to tell you. I think they’re here to stay.

Aw, rest in peace Regis Philbin. It’s funny, I’m not sure if I’ve ever watched a show that he hosted. But I have seen him so many many times. Because he’d appear on so many shows. Often in clips making fun of him. But not in a bad way. The shows making fun of him would often bring him on and then he’d do his cranky act and they’d make more fun of it. Letterman and Craig Ferguson had him on and talked about him a lot. He seemed like a fun character. I’m still in the middle of rewatching the old Soup episodes, and yeah he appears on there quite a bit.
