A little family health update.
My dad got blood work done and got the answers back. He has a bit of anemia, which may explain why he’s very very tired all the time. But negative on all the big scary possible things, so that’s good. I was worried about that. So he’s going to get meds for the anemia and then they’ll keep working on his hip and leg stuff. I guess he’s going to get another injection soon, and physiotherapy and we’ll see. It would be good if he didn’t have to be tired and in pain all the time…
Meanwhile, my mother apparently had a fall when she was outside and has bruised her ribs. I know from experiences (3 or 4 times) how painful that can be. So she’s had to cancel an eye appointment where they were going to get started on the cataracts thing.. and there are still the issues with her lungs and heart. Don’t think there’s anything new about all that.
All the uncertainty is hard to deal with, but hoping for the best.

I’m feeling very tired. Not physically, but mentally . Tired of the world. I just want to bury my head under a pillow and not come out.
In other news, my online bank updated its website. Can you guess where this is going? Yes, the new design is a designed-for-mobile garbage heap. Like every other website update.
And my internet connection is performing at 1/3 the speed it’s supposed to be at. Which is still fast enough to not be a problem. But now I have to worry about contacting support, and honestly I’d rather jump off a cliff than deal with humans.
And I’m still feeling superbly unwelcome in the new facebok design.
And worried about my parents.
And covid is on the rise in Denmark again, as in most of Europe. I now have to wear a mask in the supermarket. Luckily I take my glasses off when I’m in the supermarket, so at least I won’t have the foggy glasses problem there. But the situation is concerning.
And there’s water hiddein on the moon, which just poses a lot of questions like, who hid the water there? Our astronauts? Aliens?
And it’s getting colder and darker and I just want to hibernate. I’m tired of everything.

Good goat times today. I’ve been feeling so tired of everything that even going to the goats seemed too much. But it’s always worth it, thankfully. It’s still my happy place.
The workers are still working, but it seems like the goats are a little more used to it now. Spooked by loud noises every now and then, but generally they seem more at ease. So that’s good. Everyone eager for treats.
Mostly grey today, but some sunshine here and there. Rained on my way home, but thankfully it wasn’t super cold. The trees are quite colourful, and shedding leaves.
I saw Anne today, for the first time in.. well sine before summer I guess? She might have been around and I’ve just been too blind to see, but I had started wondering if she wasn’t there anymore. She asked if the goats were enjoying the new wood. I think made that fireplace like collection of logs. Might have had something to do with all the new branches too. I think she was the one who made the goat shelter out of pallets and tarp. It’s nice to have someone around who likes making stuff for the goats. Maybe I can convince her that we need a paved path through the mud. We’ll see.
Also, I have breaking news. Breaking out news.
That’s all the hint you’re getting. I’ll tell you later.
(It’s nothing important or interesting, I’m just being annoying. Don’t expecr anything)

Time for the ‘breaking’ news. I figured out how Lily boke our of the goat pen. Remember that time I had Mia out of the pen and suddenly Lily was outside too. I speeculate that she may had jumped the fence. But no. Turns out there is a space in the mesh along the fence. That must have been how she got out.
Today, Mia managed to push the gate open (I hadn’t secured it well enough) and while I was trying to get her back in the goat pen (she still does that trick where she sits down with all her weight if I try to drag her along) I looked over and there was Lily trying to squeeze through the fence. I managed to stop her, but I’m sure that was how she got out the other time. I mended the hole a bit with a stick and branch. But of course, as soon as I did that Milo came over and started doing his dueling thing, rubbing his horns agains the branch. You’re not helping, Milo! He loves rubbing his horns on branches and stuff. Anyway. You can see him in the picture here, working on it. You can also see some blue rope along the fence… that has been used to tie the mesh together, because the hole in the mesh went all the way along the fence. I never realised until now why that blue rope/string had been tied to the fence. But now I know. I’ll have to tell them that they should tie up the rest of the hole, I’m not sure my sticky solution is going to last long with Milo around…

Good goat times today. Lovey goofy goating. Although we’re still suffering under the hardships of mud and noisy workers, oh dear. It rained in the morning too I think they rain and mud was the reason why Mia for the first time in a very, very long time did not come out to greet me on arrival. She stayed in the shelter, even when I started handing out treats. Thankfully the newb squad braved the mud and bid me hello. An Mia did come out once I started dragging in the greens I had brought along.
Sky wasn’t fond of the mud either. She did a whole lotta bleating today. Very vocal. I think it was the wet and mud that was annoying her. She still reminds me of Yogi with that gruffy complainer bleater.
Nice visitors at the fence too. Amongst them were an elderly lady that I have mentioned before. She’s usually there with a friend, but today she was on her own. But she was happy to see me, and we had a nice chat. She’s always really nice. And complimenting me a lot. She thinks it’s really nice that I’m there, for the goats and for the visitors and for the place in general. It’s nice to be appreciated. She was a little shocked when I told her that Nuller was Lily’s baby. Yeah, you would not guess that now. Lily’s a little lady and Nuller is a giant boy. Shocking!

Oh by the way, remember I mentioned that my internet was functioning at 1/3rd the speed it was supposed to? Well… note to self: check that the cable is plugged in properly!
My ethernet cable is kinda bad, it doesn’t click in place in the port on the computer. It hans a bit loose, so sometimes it gets pulled out. But usually when that happens I lose all connection and I know to check the cables. This time it was only halfway out. And for some reason that made Windows show my networking card a being 100Mbps instead of 1000Gbps. I’m not sure why the cable being poorly plugged in would make the card appear as a different speed to Windows. It took me a couple of hours of troubleshooting before I realised it. But at least I realised it before I called support. Would have been a little embarrassing to call up and complain about my internet speed only to have them ask “have you checked that the cables are plugged in”. “Errrr, hold on”.
Now I’m back to the highspeed goatnet.

I know some people will find me disguting, but honestly I think killing baby calves and lambs is worse than abortion. Baby animals have feelings and personalities and attachment to their parents. Animals are pure and good. Fetuses are not persons and unless you subscribe to ‘every sperm is sacred’ then I think you should let science decide at what point they become ones.
That’s your controversial post of the day, enjoy your Friday night!

Oh. My. Krayt.
Just got done watching the first episode of the new season of The Mandalorian.
And it’s all Tatooine all the time!
I believe I have mentioned before that I love Tatooine. It’s probably my favourite of the worlds in Star Wars. I have wanted more stories from there. i’m hoping and assuming the Kenobi series will be set there. I just love it.
And this episode was like tailor made for me. Sand people and sarlacc pits and sand speeders and sand crawlers and jawas and Mos places. And banthas! Forking banthas! Do you know how much I love banthas?! Banthas are like the goats of Tatooine.
Really I just want more of this. I want a whole series of The New Adventures Of Old Tatooine.
And there was the first onscreen appearance of a really cool character from the Aftermath books.
Ugh I love it. I know some people are critical of all the ‘namedropping’ of things from the classic movies. The reliance on nostalgia. But I don’t give a shirt. I do like exploring new areas of Star Wars, it’s a big galaxy full of potential. But there’s just no denying. The original trilogy is a giant vast piece of my life, my childhood. Not just those 3 movies, but all the books and comics and tv movies from that era. And there’s nothing wrong with delving back into that. There’s plent of new Star Wars stuff that’s looking forward. We should be allowed to look back too, and The Mandalorian does it so wonderfully. Putting stuff on screen that used to be in our heads.
Banthas. More banthas! Give me all the banthas!
I want to see what happened to Jabba’s palace after he died. I want to explore Mos Eisley and see the cantina again. I want to travel the Jundland Wastes.
Was that the R5 unit with the bad motivator? Whatever happened to that one? I want to be a moisture farmer. God, just those shots of the bantha caravan traveling the desert. Like a wet dream come true for me.
So anyway. I’m glad the Mandalorian is back. This is definitely the way.
