Feeling kinda blue. The depression has crept in. Maybe it’s the cold. I hate the cold. Even when I turn the heat up high, I still feel the cold. The artificial heat just doesn’t quite work the same. Well, just 3-4 months till spring…
The forecast says snow on Wednesday, but I don’t know if it’ll hit us in my region. I kinda hope it will. If it’s going to be freezign then I’d like to have the snow. Goat time in the snow has a lovely quality to it.

Well, I got an answer back from my doctor about the lung xray.
She says it looks normal, apart from a small area of lung tissue that.. I guess the English word for it is ‘collapsed’. She says that can happen for example after pneumonia. She doesn’t say anything about it being serious or whether it explains what’s going on. She did ask if I have ever been a smoker. Which I have not.
So I don’t know if this is an answer to what’s going on. But it’s the first test that has actually shown anything, so who knows. There was that one night where my breathing was all wrong and I felt like there was something wrong with my lung. Could I have had pneumonia without fever? Or something else? Is that ‘small area of lung tissue’ enough to cause the problems? I don’t know.
But I got the lung function test next week and we’ll see what that says and then I’ll go talk to the doc about it all. I’m still doing fairly well, so nothing alarming right now.
I gotta ask if the xray looked at my heart too. I mean, it’s a chest xray.. but I don’t know if it shows both lung and heart or not. I’d like to know.
We’ll see how it goes from here. If nothing else this whole thing has kinda kicked my butt into gear about living a bit healthier. Been on the exercise bike yesterday and today. I can feel I’m far from the shape I was in when I did it for an hour or two at high resistance every other day. But i’ve started getting into the habit. And I’ve cut off some of the bad diet habits I’d fallen into. So in the long run maybe this will be for the better. We can hope.

Good goat times today. The weather was rough, though. The forecast said snowstorm ahead, so I was thinking “cool I get a lovely day with goats in the snow”. Unfortunately it wasn’t the fluffy, nice kinda of snow. It was wet snow and sleet and cold wind. No fun. The minute I stepped out the door I thought “This might be a mistake”. When I made it to the road there was a long queue up the highway. For a second I thought I might not even be able to catch the bus. But I did, and as always it was good to spend time with teh goats. Even though they, as I, were not happy with the weather. But we spent time indoors. Treats and cuddles and fruits. So that was lovely.
And I made it home. Caught two busses and didn’t have to walk too much in the snowstorm. By the time I was getting home it had turned into more rain than snow. There was parts of the road that actually looked flooded. A car came passing by but thankfully slowed down, otherwise I think I may had been hit by a tidal wave. Instead it was more of a flood on the ground. So much water.
Oh and I think I have frostbite. One of my fingers is bruised. Almost looks likeI cut it. It’s swollen and numb on the spot, but it hurts when I push on it. Which I guess it’s good, that must mean there are nerves alive down there. It’s just a small spot, it’s probably fine. What could possible go right.

It’s beginning to look a lot like December.
The is before the snow and sleet really took hold. If you look closely I believe you can spot a Lily in the shelter. Twas funny, of course the goats did not want to come out when I got there in the morning. The weather was just too bad. But when I unlocked the gate and started walking into the pen, the newbs came running out of the house. At first they were heading in my direction and then it was like they realised what they had gotten themselves into and then they turned rightways and headed into the shelter to get out of the wet snow.

Finger update:
It’s feeling considerably better. The swelling and numbness has gone down. There’s still a little dark spot, a blood.. whatsitcalled. And it hurts a bit. But it looks better than when I came home. Probably just frostnip, not frostbite. Still gotta watch out for the frosted nips of course. Also, it’s an important finger. I use it everytime I meet someone from the nra.

Got tested for the corona today. Unlike last time, this time I had to wait in line for 15ish minutes or so. Last time I was there right when the testing spot opened. This time I was going with my dad, because he gets tested regularly, and so I had to wait for him. So we were there maybe 10-15 minutes after it opened. And that was enough for a decent queue to form. But that was fine and I got it done and now hopefully I’ll get a negative result back tomorrow and then I’m ready for the lung function test at the doc’s office next week. And then we’ll see how it all proceeds.
My finger is doing fine after the alleged frostbite. There’s still a little sore, black spot but it’s fine other than that.
And now i’m almost ready to get my soup on. Have a jolly weekend everybuddhas!

Good news, everybody. I don’t have the corona.
And also good news, I just put a pot of soup on the stove. Everything’s coming up Lassehouse.
I was starting to worry because it was more than 24 hours since I’d been tested and there was no answer yet. But now I got it and I’m ready for the lung function test. I wonder if they can detect soup breath.

The only downside to eating soup leftovers is that I always end up burning my mouth. I … cannot… wait.. for the soup to cool down. It never fails. And I don’t stop eating if after the first spoonful that’s too hot. No no. I just keep. Eating. It. By the time i’m halfway through the pot, that’s when it’s reached a proper eating temperature.
Anyway, No Regrets. Semper soup.
