Good goat times today. A lovely sunny day, upwards of 15C/59F as the sun shined on. Almost summerly. Very good.
It was a big day today. A bit of a rough day for the goats. They got their hooves trimmed. As you may recall we have had a lot of problems since our vet stopped, we haven’t been able to find a new one. And we still haven’t. But Jeanette has been trying to find solutions. And she’s been talking to people from the other playgrounds, and they’ve made some agreements to help each other out. And today a very nice lady named Josephine from one of the other places came out to help us and to teach Jeanette to trim hooves.
It’s been more than a year since they were last trimmed, which is not good of course. And it also means Bella and Luna have never had it done before. It went okay, although they weren’t too happy about it. I was on hand to hold the goats by the horns and keep them steady. Bella was first. She did a bit of wailing but it went okay. Sky was next. She’s tried it before and she did fine, a little complaining but mostly keeping still. Luna managed to break free from us after one hoof. But I managed to catch her and we got the rest done. Jeanette did some of them on her own, and she seemed to get the hang of it. In the future me and her ought to be able to do it on our own, so it can get done more often.
Once it was all done the goats were watching us from a safe distance, with the grim looks of “how could you do this to us” on their faces. Some fresh pine and treats cleared that up. They didn’t hold a grudge against me, apart from that one fart Sky sent in my direction. They seemed a little wary of Jeanette for a while aftewards, but by the end of the day they seemed to trust her again.
So it got done and that’s good. We really need to find a vet though, since right now we are basically without one. And that’s not okay. But I know Jeanette is doing her best to find a solution.
And after the ordeal in the morning we had a lovely day relaxing in the sun. Looks like spring is springing finally.

Quit being a drama queen, Bella. We just trimmed your hooves, we didn’t murder you.

An hour and forty on the exercise bike today. I took a break over the weekend, I guess that’s why my legs felt good today. Got a good going going.
One from the exercise mix. No sleep till Århus, in the middle of our street.

Good goat times today. A slightly unusal day. Jeanette warned me in advance, today we had a big assembling of 6th grade kids spending the day at the playground. Learning about animals and being out in nature, I suppose. I managed to get up earlier than usual and get out and spend a couple of hours with the goats before the crowd came in. We had some nice regular visitors, small groups of kindergarten or daycare kids I can handle. A big army of tweens, eh not my cup of tea. So I went home early. But had a good couple of hours in the sun with the goats. Beautiful day.
And then I took advantage of being home early by getting on the bike and doing an hour. So now i’m good and tired.
It’s too hot to eat soup. … is what most people would say, but I’m not most people. So I’m going to put some soup on.

The goatsquad had to flee a terrible squawking incident. THE SQUAWKING IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE. Took position outside and carefully monitoring the situation, with visitors in the background not knowing what was going on.

Oh hello. My Facebook account was blocked. For “unusual activity”. I had to submit a photo of an ID to get back in. It said it could take up to 48 hours to confirm, but it took 10 minutes. I don’t know how long my account was out since it happened overnight. Well, they ‘helped’ me check recent posts and comments I’ve made. Nothing unsual, same old goat stuff. Noi unrecognised logged in devices. I don’t know if Facebeook just wanted a cooy of my ID for their data hoarding or if someone reported one of my poitical posts or whatever happened. Hopefully everything’s okay now.
There’s a part of me that wants to get rid of Facebook and leave it all behind. But then there’s a bigger part of me that would miss you all here and that would miss constantly goatposting and doing something nice for people on the goat page. At the end of the day losing my Facebook would be pretty devastating since I don’t have much of a real life.
Well hooves crossed that this all dealt with.

Well, well, well. Well. I have watched the newest episode of Sugar, and the twist is in. No spoilers, but it wasn’t werewolves or vampires! Questions remain, but I’m into it. I’m glad it got weird. I just wish the episodes were longer, you could tack on 5-10 minutes of John Sugar being weird in every episode and I’d be happy.
I guess might as well continue with a What’s Lasse WatchingReadingListening report. The Twin Peaks rewatch continues. I took a break for a couple of days because I’m into the post-climacticreveal stage. And into the stretch of season 2 that really really drags and honestly gets a bit boring. The dread is gone. But I still enjoy the quirkiness and the characters and setting. It works better when you’re binging it. These episodes weren’t fun when you were waiting week to week for them. And there’s still good stuff. Like David Duchovny as a trans detective. Pretty progressive for the time.
In reading news, I just finished Stephen King’s From A Buick 8. Which is one I had put off for a long time. I remember back when it came I got the impression that it was a little story based on King getting run down by a car when he was out walking, it didn’t sound appealing. Turns out it’s a full length novel and completely different than what I had imagined. I don’t think the general consensus on it is too favourable, but I really enjoyed it. A slow burn. I have mentioned before that I enjoy the trope of gateways between our world and other worlds, and there’s a bit of that going on in the plot. And then there’s the setting and characters, that’s often what I enjoy most in a King book, he paints a good picture of a setting and characters and relations between them. And then it’s usually the plot that goes off the rails towards the end, but in this one it doesn’t really because it doesn’t try too hard to give you the answers. If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I love a good mystery and I care more about the questions than about the answers, which is why I love tv shows like Twin Peaks and Lost.
Now as is my habit I am switching from fiction to autobiography. Started on Russ Tamblyn’s Dancing On The Edge.l I pretty much exclusively know him as Dr Jacoby from Twin Peaks, but I know he’s got a big career behind him and it’s already looking like he’s got a lot of fascinating stories to tell.
That’s what I’ve been up to, hope fb doesn’t deem it unusual activity.

Haha, now I can’t update my twitter. If I try to tweet something I get a page saying “Seems like you lost connectivity. We’ll keep retrying.”
It’s been a great day for me on social media! I’ll go back to sending out smoke signals if if this keeps up.

Got on the bike for a good hour and 25 today. The weather is cooling down a bit, I prefer to exercise in heat. But having the space heater going helps. And i’m going going. Lost about 12 pounds since November, so that’s something at least. I could lose more if I were more diligent with diet, but at least I’m doing something. I hope I can get good tomatos soon, I think that would help me because I love those as tasty snacks instead of.. cake. Yes. But one day a day.

Anyway, goodnight folks. It’s after midnight so I probably shouldn’t grab a snack.. Or get wet.
