Good goat times today. A beautiful, sunny day. Freezing in the morning, though. Frost on the ground. But the sun heated things up nicely and we got some springerly feelings. I actually took my neckrolley thing off and opened my caot for a while, for the first time this year.
I was in quite early today, because Jeanette told me she’d be coming in and leaving early, so I wanted to see if I could just catch her. And I did. First time in a long long time that I was there before 8 am.
Paying for it now though, ,my eyesight completely wrecked, I guess a combination of the sun and not getting enough sleep. Took a nap just now, but it just made it worse. Hopefully it will be better when the sun is out of my apartment.
But it was lovely with the goat, I just love sitting around in the sun with them. It’s so nice how they just get so lazy when the sun shines. Bella and Luna both took naps in the sun, Sky just sat and roasted. Her fur gets so warm in the sun.
And then every now and then we’ll take breaks to run around and fight over treats. And then settle back down and snooze.
I am really tired now. But time to get some soup on.

Got an hour forty five on the bike today. Flapping away. For some reason I got a strike of depression right as I was starting. Doom and gloom in my head. But not the worst time for it I guess, sweating it out.
Been working hard, it’s working well. Weight is good. And today I got my results back from the doctor about my longterm blood sugar levels. And in her exact words they were “beautiful”. So that’s great. I was a little worried they would have risen, after the bad end of last year beginning of this year. But the hard work the last couple of months has paidof well. And in general my bloodsugar has been fine since I got started on the new exercise journey last year. So I’m happy with that.
And got another little square of the apartment cleaned, more stuff to throw out and washing the mat around the exercise bike, which was sorely needed.
Got an Pepsi & Protein dellivery today too. I have completely stopped going to the grocery store, which i’m very happy about. Don’t miss that!
Now it’s time to relax. Maybe some some soylent green.

I hope someone is keeping a list of all the cruel and unusual heartless horrors that the current US administration are committing. If by some stroke of good luck there will ever be sane people in charge hopefully they can put some of the stuff right. Like, if you can unpardon people then surely you can give back recogition of all the, I don’t know, non-white people that served your country etc.
Can you actually revoke pardons, or is that another nutty megolomani wet dream? Could the January 6ers be unpardon in the future?
Anyway, I’ll shut up and try to get back to no talking politics. Bob Newhart is hosting tonight’s snl and he’s a delight.

Well here we go again. Both my parents are in the hospital now.
My mother had breathing problems again this morning, probably asthma. Talked to her on the phone just now, she’s had oxygen and is feeling better, but they’re still doing tests and stuff.
My dad went with her to the hospital early this morning, and I guess he started feeling bad. I didn’t get all the details, I think they’ve given him fluids and they’re doing tests on him too, I’m not sure if he passed out or what.
Hopefully more details later, and hopefully not too serious. We’ll have to see.
Meanwhile my depression has been ramping up today, and this is all making my worries grow. So that’s all super, just super.
But hopefully my parents will be back home soon, my mom said she probably would be tomorrow. Not sure about my dad.
Sigh.

Thank you everyone for all the encouraging comments, as always. Not much news. My mom and dad are both expecting to come home tomorrow, so hopefully that will be the case.
I talked to my dad, and he couldn’t really explain what had happened. He said he felt very strange and very tired and had pretty much been sleeping all day. But he didn’t expect the doctors to do any more tests or do anything more. So. I guess we’ll see. Hopefully he’ll feel good enough to come home tomorrow. And mom as well.
I’m not feeling so great, but I’ll manage. Thank you again everyone for hte positive thoughts.

Good goat times today. A beautiful day. A bit cold and cloudy in the morning, but the sun came in nicely and it warmed up, eventually to over 10C/50F, which felt very nice.
And a day with lots of commotion and visitors. First off, the feathers! The feathers were outside when I got there. All of them. I’m not sure if this was the first time the newfeathers had come outside, but it’s the first time while I have been there. Just adds a lot of life and fun to have them walking around. I have no way to tell Red Sonja from the two other reds. But one of them came over to me looking expectantly, when I was giving treats to the goats. And it snagged the peanut i held out for it. Pretty sure that must be Sonja. All the reds seem friendly and comfortable around the goat place. The two whites maybe a little more standofffish.
Rouge One and Rouge two? I think they already have names, but since I won’t be able to tell them apart maybe I’ll call them taht. Haha.
Just nice to have them out. When Jeanette was putting them back inside when it was getting close to her leaving time, two of the reds were up at the goat house. And I was able to pick both of them up, one at a time, not at the same time, and carry them down to her. So I got some feather time.
And then also human visitors. The neighbouring school. Lots of kids. Beren among then, getting her goat hugs. And the two adult ladies who always are so nice to me. And there was a guy who I guess was a refugee from Afghanistan, we talked a bit about the difference between the goats he had been used to in his country and ours. That was quite lovely.
It got a little hectic for me, at one point there was like 7-8 kids and 4 adults and it was starting to trigger my people anxiety. But it was okay, I went over and sat on the side of mountain to get a little space. But it’s nice to have all the kids happy to see the goats. The young boys like to call the goats Messi and Ronaldo. And if you’re not familiar with the soccerballsports, those are two of the best players of the past few decades. They get that label that annoys me. Is it Michael Jordan gets it too. He’s the G.O.A.T. Greatest of all time. I don’t like it, no humans are great enough to be called goats. Anyway, not sure if the boys were disappointed when I told them all our goats are girls. No Messi or Ronaldo there.
But a lovely day with my company boundaries being stretched a little and lots of good people and feathers and goats.
Then i got home and did an hour and change on the bike. Tired tired legs now. Almost time for soup.

An update on my parents. They are both back home today, and doing okay it seems. So that’s a relief, though i daren’t think it’s just smooth sailing from here. Hopefully they can stay out of the hospital for a while…
Talked to my dad twice today on the phone. On the second call we were talking about something unrelated and then he wasked “by the way, you know me and mom have been in the hospital for a couple of days?”. Yup yup. We talked about it all a couple of hours earlier, talked yesterday too. It’s scary how things just disappear from his memory like that. He’s still generally functioning quit well. But sometimes his short term memory is just blank. I’m glad he’s home and feeling better, though.

Snort. Sometimes when you look throug the camera roll from a goat trip, you just can’t help laughing. I though this was just another photo of Bella, then I noticed Luna collapsed like a drama queen in the back. If this was a horror thriller it would be a dead corpse in the background, but don’t worry she’s just zonking in the sun.

Got an hour fortyfive on the bike today. Flapping away. And rod manipulation and crunches and some pushups. Like a real man. And then some cleaning. Like a real man. Definitely not like an android pretending to be a real man, I don’t even know why you’d bring that up.
Pushing up the intervals. Instead of 45 seconds intense 45 seconds recovery, I’m pushing the intense part to a minute. When i can. Might not sound much to add 15 seconds, but it adds up. Weight is good, blood sugar is ‘beautiful’ according to the doc. So I’m pretty happy with that. Ready for some warmer spring weather soon, please.
Now time for soup, as I slowly replace every moleculein my body with soup, little by little turning liquid. Skvulp skvulp.

What’s distracting Lasse lately? AKA Movies, books, tv and music.
I finished watching the Fallout TV show. Loved it. Fnk loved it. So good. Right up my alley. I hae talked before about my tangential connection to teh games, I don’t know if I would have liked the show more or less if I had a deeper connection. But for me it was a great show. I have a thing for post apocalyptic settings. And I love pop culture references and dark humour. It was just all pretty great. The only thing I don’t like about it is because we live in the streaming age we get 8 episodes and now we have to wait years for more of it. Boo urns.
Same thing with Matlock (2024). Didn’t love that show as much as Fallout, but I enjoyed watching Kathy Bates as much as I thought I would, and now it will be years until we get more. When is the next season of Sugar coming?! Sigh.
The new season of Andor will be here soon. Andor is the only Star Wars TV show that I have actually never watched. Which is kinda funny since I hear a lot of people saying it’s the best one. I’m not sure why I skipped it when season one came out, I think I had to much stuff going on in my personal life and the subject matter didn’t appeal to me so much. Sounds like it’s a bit more of a serious show, and honestly when it comes to Star Wars I prefer it to be fun and fantastical. Like the recent Skeleton Crew, which I loved.
But now that season 2 of Andor is coming soon I think it’ll be time for me to get on the Andor train and then I’ll get to watch 2 seasons in one go. And then wait 15 years for season 3 probably. But I’m looking forward to that.
The last two days I have binged 8 episodes of Common Side Effects. Great show. Fascinating sory, great animation, great voice cast. The style of animation appeals to me a lot, I don’t really like most modern 3D animation. This is much more for me. I recommend it if you like scifi animation mystery kind of stuff. Some of the mushroom side effect things are giving me Murakami vies. No, not Berry Murakami. Author Murakami. Still two episodes to go, I hope it’ll be a finished story. Maybe animation doesn’t require 24 years between seasons though.
On the book front I finished the four books of the Southern Reach trilogy by Jeff Vandermeer. I did in fact end up reading them all one after the other, ontrary to my usual MO. A fascinating journey. I loved them. The first one, Annihilation, was brilliant, the next two, Authority and Acceptance, maybe not quite as unique and brilliant, but still very good. The last one, Absolution, was still good but probably the one I enjoyed the least. I think that was though because I was zoning out a lot during listening. Life was messing with my head. It is a risk when listening to audiobooks while doing things, your mind can start to wander and you get taken out of the story and miss bits. I think that happened too much to me in that one, so I might want to read it again some time. But all in all a great and fascinating series.
Started on Stephen King’s Chrisine now. My expectations aren’t too high, it sounds weird. But then I do enjoy when King gets weird, so maybe I’ll enjoy it.
Musically I’m doing the Bowie thing. Enjoyed Scary Monsters quite a bit. Moved on to Let’s Dance. I like to read up on the albums as I get to them in my discography journey and it seems like Let’s Dance is considered the beginning of his decline. And yeah so far i’m not enjoying it too much. A little too slick and plasticy. My favourite of the Bowie albums I’ve gone through so far is Station To Station. And then probably the old stuff around Ziggy and Oddity.
Alright I think that covers it all. If you read through all that then first of all I’m really sorry and please don’t use my real name when you tell your therapist, and second of all have a gold star. Or an egg which is more valuable than gold now.
