Gravity Always Wins

When I got to the playground today Magnethe was tied down.

Magnethe and Springbok

I thought maybe she’d been walking too far away. But Per came over and told me that Springbok had been hurt.

Springbok

See his right back leg? He couldn’t walk on it at all. He was limping around on three legs. Rarely have I seen such a sad thing. They don’t know what happened, he’d just been like that when they got there in the morning. Pernille said that she thought someone might have stepped on him by accident. Because there were no wounds or anything. But in any case they had to tie Magnethe down, otherwise she’d be walking around all over the place and the poor little Springbok wouldn’t be able to follow her.

I sat down and kept Magnethe company. That’s the least I could do. How many times has she kept me company?

Motherhood suits her. And Springbok could settle down and rest with her.

It’s been very hot today. Summer to the max.

I ordered my new memory card today. I’m splashing out for a 2gb card. I will be getting some money from my grandad’s estate. So I’ll spend some of that on a supercard. I’m ordering it from a company called BJ Trading. But I swear it’s a computer store. No funny business.

Stop giggling!

Okay, that’s it. I’m outta here.

Poor little Springbok! Hope it doesn’t get worse. I’d imagine they’d have a vet look at it if he doesn’t get better. I’m sure Magnethe appreciated your company today. I would be soooo upset if one of our goats were hurt.
Our pygmy goats have lost most of their fuzzy winter coats. They seem to like to be brushed and they sure look nice. They are a little over a year old now.

We saw the neighbor’s 4 pygmy goat babies over the weekend. They sure grow up fast. The baby donkey is cute, too. I got to pet both the mama and the baby donkey. After lots of scratches, the mama was ready to follow me out the gate. We were in baby animal “heaven”.
