A Lesson From Cuban Pete

I think christmas is pretty much done for everyone now? I hope you have all had a good time.

A little extra christmas present for y’allz: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ud-M6YqeOWg. My old classmate and general wonderful person Tina Dickow with Steffen Brandt, performing the Danish version of Halleluja. Innit pretty? I put up some other Tina videos there too, if you want to poke around.

Also I forgot that Kridte and Firs wanted to wish you a merry christmas too.

Like Alice said to me, Kridte is getting much more confident now that she doesn’t have Kulle to hide behind all the time. Today I gave her a good hardy cuddle, and she didn’t back off at all.

Had a good time with the goats today too. A funny situation occured. Mads was chasing Magnethe around every once in a while. I was sitting up against the wall. Watching them munch on hay. Then Mads charged at Magnethe and Magnethe ran for her life… right to where I was sitting. And then she squuuuuueeeeeeeezed herself in behind me. Shewas trying to run around behind me but there was no space. So she ended up standing there, squeezed in between me and the wall. Mads stopped and began munching on hay again. But he was standing so close that Magnethe didn’t dare move. So she just sort of stood there frozen. I took pity on her because she couldn’t get to any of the good hay. So I picked up a bunch of hay and sort of held it over my shoulder. And then Magnethe stood there, behind my back, and ate the hay from my hand. It was cute.

I need a shave and a haircut. Luckily the goats don’t care about trivialities like that.

You might wonder why Mads would chase Magnethe around when there was plenty of hay for everyone. But the goats all do that. They always seem to think “the grass is greener on the other side”. Mads can be standing there, eating from a big pile of hay, enjoying it immensily. Then he turns his head and sees Magnethe eating from another pile of hay. And even though he has the biggest pile of hay, he’ll still chase Magnethe away from the other so he can eat from hers. And so on. If we put three buckets of food down for three goats then they still always end up chasing each other away, never happy with the bucket they have. Sometimes it almost seems like Mads is more interested in keeping the others away from the food than he is in actually EATING the food.

Anyway, what was the point of all that? The point is that even though Mads had a nice big pile of yummy hay and Magnethe had to contend herself with eating the little batches that I held up for her, Mads still wasn’t satisfied with that. So he soon came over and started eating from the stuff I was holding up. So there I was. Sitting up against Magnethe who was pressed up to the wall. With two goats eating hay that I was holding up, while piles of hay were left untouched on the floor. Crazy goats.

I do love them so.

And I’m enjoying my vacation. Staying up late. Sleeping without the alarm clock turned on. Not a care in the world.

Not depressed either. I can still get some flashes of negative thoughts, but usually pretty brief. My mood is good. I guess the higher dosage of the new meds have helped. Or maybe it’s the jolly time of the year. But in any case, I am doing pretty good. And that ain’t not too bad at all.

Plume, got a little “goaty beard” growing contest with Mads going on there??? Mads has a head start, I do believe. Mads also has gray hair and you don’t!

Deb – Haha. Well there is that old saying about pets and owners looking alike. I wonder how I will manage the horns!?

  3. Deb Says:

Oh, no! A “horny” Plume! Look out!
