Sweet Goat O’ Mine

Ooh. I had a serial dream. It picked up the storyline from a previous dream. Awesome.

I won’t bore you with the details. Something about violence in schools. But isn’t it neat, it’s like a tv series in my head. I love dreaming. So much that it’s almost a problem. Because I am weak willed when faced with the choice between getting out to do something constructive and then going to bed and hopefully having fascinating dreams. I want to choose the dreams. They are always much more interesting.

I did get up to do something constructive today though. My day to feed the animals.

That means.. playground in the snow.

And it means Nina, sweet Nina.

nina

I hadn’t even started pulling my bike up the steps to the playground before she was there. She must have some sort of sixth sense. “Hmmm, my Plumey sense is tingling”!

nina

She is one of my favourite parts of feeding the animals. Because normally she’s running around somewhere, or sitting inside. So it’s only when I come to feed her that I can be sure to spend some time with her.

And it’s nice in the snow. Paw marks and bird feet. I did have a little problem with the door to the horse stable though. It wouldn’t budge. Frozen. I went and got a pitcher of hot water. Didn’t seem to help at first. For a moment I thought I’d have to go call Kurt or Alice and ask if they had some advice. But after a little more pulling and pushing it suddenly budged and I was able to get it open. Phew. Hard work. Luckily the horses didn’t give me any trouble, no running around the place. Maybe because the mud was also frozen solid and covered by snow. So they didn’t mind going there.

And by the time I went to get them back inside they were already at the gate waiting. Easy peasy.

Look at this little opportunist:

bunny carrots

That’s Æsel, Donkey. The bunny who is allowed to run around on his own. And while I was busy taking care of the chores he jumped in and found a case full of carrots! That’s one lucky bunny.

After all the work was done I went back inside and found Nina lounging in the sofa. It’s becoming a nice tradition. Get all the work finished and then sit down and relax for a while with Nina in my lap. Or climbing around on me somewhere.

While I was sitting there the phone suddenly rang in Alice’s office. That’s never happened before. I wasn’t sure what to do. I don’t like talking on the phone much. And especially a foreign place where I would be unlikely to know the caller and such. But I did go and pick it up. And it turned out to be Bodil. Heh. She was actually calling to see if she could get a hold of Jannie. She didn’t know I was the one working today. But we talked for a few minutes. And then I went back to Nina. And then 10 minutes later Bodil showed up outside. That was good timing, I think Nina was getting restless and wanted to go out. So I let her out and then I let Bodil and her dog Lulu in. And talked to Bodil for a while whilst I played with Lulu. She’s such a fun dog. And they’re fun together. Bodil was all “you can push her around a little” and Lulu ended up on her back while Bodil and I were cuddling her and scratching on her stomach. Good times.

Tomorrow I shall be feasting on soup. That will be grand. And then I will try not to worry too much about Wednesday. Which will be my first day at Tilværelse Med Udsigt. My vacation is almost over. Sniffle.

I’ll finish off with two youtubbers. But not my own, for once. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Hpb6ZAmJJSM. A beautiful goat video. By Nasubionna, a new pal from my go-go-goats community on lj. That is a video of Gabby, her favourite goat. And you know, anyone who has a favourite goat is bound to be a great person. I wish more people were crazy about goats and posted pictures and videos. That video there is very sweet, there’s nothing like tired goats. Make sure to turn up the volume so you can hear the snoring. It’s a bit like Mads does it, only he pauses a bit longer between the moans/snores. While Gabby is going at it! She reminds me a little of Mathilde.

Second youtube is New Slang by The Shins. http://youtube.com/watch?v=24W4J1FjmUQ. My favourite song at the moment, until the next comes along. And if anyone can tell me what song that song reminds you of, then I’d be most grateful. I can’t put my hooves on it.

Completely unrelated, but I came across an old entry of yours ( http://plume.diaryland.com/simonbyron.html ). If you’re still looking for Simon Byron, try http://www.thetriforce.com

Gabby, the goat is so pretty. I have to see pictures of goats sleeping here as our two NEVER sleep. I think they are zombie goats instead of pygmy goats!

    Dear Plume’s Mom:
If we have to hear about your yummy, delicious, wonderful soup one more time from your dear danish goat boy, we are going to . . . . . all come over to Denmark and try some of your soup. I hope you realize just how many friends “The Plume” has, so you’ll have to make a very big pot of soup(s).

PS: We will call first before we show up. Make “The Plume” answer the phone. Do you have room for my two goats and Gabby, the goat??

  3. Plume Says:

    Anonymous – Haha. Awesome. Thanks!

Debster – Sounds like a good idea for a horror movie. Attack Of The KilleR Zombie Goats. Instead of going “brrrrrrrrains” they’d go “nnnnnuuuuts” or “Rrrrrrraisins”.

Plume’s mom says “Sorry, but my son needs all the soup for himself, there’s not a drop to spare”. I swear that’s what she said. No really. I’m not making it up. It’s not like the old school days when you forged a signature from your parents to get out of gym class. Nope.

I think I’m going to make a goat hotel. Then I could have goats from all over the world come and stay. And maybe a little shed for their owners too, somewhere in the back!

    Dear Plume’s Mom:
What a greedy little goat of a son you have! And did you know that he forged your signature to get out of gym glass? What a devious danish goat boy he was as a youngster. I’m sure you’d share some of your delicious soup with me.
    The Debster

    Dear Plume:
You’ve got that the wrong way round. I want a nice hotel to stay in when I come to visit. My two goats would like a little shed to stay in (with hay, water, peanuts, and raisins.)

Wow, thank you for the mention and the kind words! It’s obvious you’ve got a lot of web-friends, and the more people I get to show-off Gabby to, the better, heehee… :)

I’m the same way with dreams… mine tend to be very vivid and involved, so when it’s a good dream (or at least not horrible) it’s quite enjoyable to be asleep! Before I got this job where I had to wake up early, I would sleep and sleep and sleeeeeeeeep…. still do, on weekends. :p

“New Slang” is a great song. I only heard it recently, myself. It vaguely reminds me of something, too, but I can’t put my hoof on it, either. Darn.

    Sorry, long comment. :B

Debster – My mom refuses to reply on the grounds that it might incriminate myself. Err, herself. Yes.
How about we all stay in one big shed together? Then you can also get to see goats sleeping!

Laura – There’s nothing better than showing off goats, is there? Hehe. I love flooding the world with pictures of the gang o’ mine.
    I am sleeeeepy now!
    The longer the better :)
