Aquarelle Man
Feeling somewhat better. Although there is still a longing deep inside… but enough country music for now.
I have started painting at TMU. Well, not the actual painting. But their arts and crafts teacher, Anne, gave me a little introduction. And some books. So I have started reading the books. And I’ll see how it all goes. I’m starting off with watercolour drawing. In my head I have this nice image of a drawing I want to make. Of Mads. But unfortunately I can’t draw. My motor skills are poor. So it’s probably going to end up as an abstract/surrealism piece. Hah. But Mads is a good subject, I’m sure you will agree.
I wish I could do what Laura does. I’ll never get close to anything like that. But at least I get to try, that’ll be fun.
Let’s have some potential subjects.
Dotty. I have come to the conclusion that Dotty is a much better name than Spotty. Haha. They still don’t have official names. But I call them Dotty, Mini, Fregne Junior and… that other boy lamb.
Mamma Sheep. She is sweet. She’s still a bit nervous when you approach her. But if you’re calm and gentle then she settles down nicely.
Today a grandma came with a little boy. He went to the lambs. To Mini. I thought she would run away from him, but they seem to have gotten quite confident.
She didn’t run away at all, she even let him hold on to her like that.
How very sweet.
See, they’re so confident now that they’re practically fighting for the chance to nibble at my fingers. It’s not long ago that I had to lure them carefully for them to even get close.
There is still snow. But it is constantly diminishing. Flowing water everywhere. It’s a good thing we got so much snow, it takes a while to melt away.
And the goats are still running around freely, I love that.
Mads trying to snack on the wall. He likes paint I think. I remember last year when the kids were painting on the grounds, they had to restrain Mads or he would have eaten all the paint.
Magnethe. Ever bigger. I still have a hard time believing she isn’t pregnant. Hope springs eternal.
She’s been fighting with Mads a lot the last couple of days. Maybe they are fighting over the new territory, since they aren’t confined to their pen? I don’t know. I think Magnethe is actually getting bigger than Mads. He’s still a bit stronger, but when she puts her mind to it he can’t push her around much.
And she gets up high.
But they never hold a grudge.
There they are together, watching me as I’m leaving. Turning my head, seeing them standing there. Just makes me want to run right back and hug them tight. Without them I would be writing much more country music.
Look at that picture though. She is getting bigger than Mads, isn’t she? Her legs are taller at least. Mads probably still has some pounds on her, but if Magnethe really isn’t pregnant then just imagine when she will be… she’ll be giant, Mads will be like a little dwarf goat compared to her, haha!
I wish I could paint all this. Maybe if I keep practising I will one day be able to.
Next week is photography week at TMU. They have a professional photographer who comes every now and then. I’m not sure exactly what we’ll be doing. But I hope I can learn some stuff. I would like to learn some technicalities about digital photography. How to get better. I keep meaning to read manuals and books but I never get around to it. I’m happy with a lot of my pictures but that’s mostly because I love the subjects. There’s definitely room for improvement. So that should be interesting next week. And I’ll put the drawing on hold.
That’s all methinks. Weekend ahoy. Two music recommendations: The Shins and Explosions In The Sky. Those are two bands I am currently having a ball to. Now if only I had a date.
Hola.

Hay now, I like country music. “My wife ran away with my best friend, my old hound dog Blue, and my pick-up truck . . . and I want my dog back.” That’s some good stuff, Plumey.
Laura does draw well, doesn’t she. Her angel goats are divine. (hee, hee a little joke there) I can draw stick figures. I don’t see dimensions very well. Things look flat sometimes. I don’t read blueprints very well either. How are those people going to live in those itty bitty rooms?
Photography week sounds like fun. Take some of your pictures to show and get some pointers if you’re having problems/questions. I’m sure Mads and Magnethe would love to become the next “Goat Models of the Year”.

Moominlizard, oh Moominlizard. Have you seen Luis lately? I hope he isn’t sick or got washed away in a rainstorm. Are you feeding Luis some fruit?
HANNE: 600 goats! Wow, that’s a lot of goats? Are they milking goats? Are you the person with the Scottish fold kitty? How is kitty doing? Must be getting bigger, I’ll bet.

Debster – Nothing against country music. As long as I don’t have to write it. I ain’t no Dolly Parton. My mother loves Dolly Parton. But that’s probably the lighter side of country.
Laura is very talented. I could draw matchstick figures, but I’d be afraid they’d catch on fire!
I sure hope Moominlizard hasn’t run away with my Luis. I’d have to write a song about that!
And yes, Hanne is the one with the Scottish folds. Last I heard they were doing well. I keep bugging her (Hanne) to make a photo album with pics. I wanna see more!
Hanne – You shouldn’t be staying up so late :-P
600 goats? That sounds like a dream come true for me! Ask Nick if he needs any help. Maybe I can like take care of 20 of the goats, I’m sure they could spare 20 for me to look after!

Plume, maybe Hanne would come help you straighten out your house! See, she even folds and stacks her kitties neatly in a bin!
Hanne: Beautiful kitties! That is a cute picture. Thanks for sharing with us.
