Live Long And Prosper
So I’m walking down the hallway at TMU. Towards the coffee/lunch room. And I see a circle of people. Looking at something, talking excitedly. And I wonder to myself “what’s all this then?”.
It was Trine and her little baby boy.
Aw. Ain’t it sweet? That is Trine and her boy, Søren. Trine is one of the students. She is not the Trine who is my contact person. There are two, count ’em, Trines. She’d been gone for a little while. To have her baby, of course.
I’m glad I worked up the courage to ask her if it was okay to take a picture. I was sitting there, watching the commotion, for ten minutes thinking “come on, do it, she’ll just be happy about it”. And she was. When I showed her the picture she said “keep it!” and I did.
And what a precious boy. Babies are so sweet. Pure innocence and hope for the future. Melting everybody’s heart. The daddy is a sort of stern looking type. Shaved head and piercings. Not that he was a nazi thug or anything. But you know, tough macho-looking man. But when he was talking about the baby he was soft like cotton. Animals and babies have a great effect on people. Most people anyway.
No new foal by the way. But there was a slightly surprising visitor…
Magnethe is back! That was quite a surprise. So good to see her again. Okay, it’s only been 3-4 days. But that’s still long! I’m afraid 3-4 days isn’t enough for her to have gotten pregnantized, though. I can’t imagine that. I didn’t get a chance to talk to Kurt today. But I imagine that she has “gone out of heat” and that’s why he’s taken her back. If that’s the case then she’ll have to leave again some time later. But for now I’m just happy to have the gruesome threesome back together.
You might notice that she is in the goat fold. Yes, finally their wanderlust got them locked up again. I hope they won’t have to stay in there all the time now. Maybe I can get permission to let them out when I’m there, they won’t go wandering off as long as I’m near. We’ll see.

That’s funny! Sille: no baby. Magnethe: no baby. Trine: BABY! That’s a very cute picture of her and the baby. Glad you asked if you could take a photo.
Went out to water/feed the goats and what did I see on the armrest of our bench? Mr. Tree Frog. He’s grayish with dark markings on his back. He has the cutest little toes with suction pads on them. I even touched him. He’s very soft and friendly and about the size of a 50 cent piece.
Pygmy goat info says does come into heat for 12-36 hours. Not a very long time to transport Magnethe to her boyfriend’s house (stall).
We have an outside female cat that we thought was pregnant. She’s about 2 years old and has never had kittens, so we thought she couldn’t have them. Now it looks like she was never pregnant at all, and I don’t think it’s been long enough for her to have given birth either. Silly cat.

Debster – Yes, score one for the humans! Hehe. It’s a good thing that human girls don’t have to walk around for 9 months and not be sure if they are pregnant or not. That wouldn’t be very handy.
I don’t know how big a 50 cent piece is, but it sounds like a lovely little froggie. Did you warn him about the goats? Or did you warn the goats about him? As long as he doesn’t eat their food then they’ll probably get along.
I didn’t know that the goats only needed such a short time to make babies, as they say in the biz. It’s a good thing that Kurt doesn’t live too way far away. Although I can just imagine him speeding down a country road with Magnethe in the back. “GET OUT OF THE WAY, I HAVE A GOAT IN HEAT HERE”. Hehe. Man skal smede mens jernet er varmt, as we say in Denmark. You have to smith while the iron is hot. Sorry, I let a pigeon translate that for me.

Awwww… he’s absolutely darling! But what’s with the bottle? I’m sure he – like most boys and ALL babies – would be happier with some titty!
