Ur Move
What is the one thing I have been trying to get for years?
No, not an appartment. But rather, a picture of a goat yawning. And today I did not only get an appartment, I also got a picture of a goat yawning. Score!
It’s a crappy picture of course. But I’m just happy I managed to capture the moment. I can’t count the number of times Mads has yawned and I have cursed myself for not being ready with the camera. Okay, actually it’s not that many times. Because he doesn’t yawn very often. But no matter, now I have it on film.
I’m not sure it really conveys how funny a goat yawn is? If you didn’t know better you might think he was just baahing. But no, it’s a big, wonderful yawn.
Oh Mads, I do love you so.
Yes, after I got the news about the appartment I just had to go celebrate with the goats. They were almost as excited as I was! …I’m sure that had nothing to do with the raisins and carrots I brought them. A feast of celebration.
I can’t believe I have an appartment. On August 1st. Who would ever have thought? Seriously, there was a time when I thought I would never experience having a girlfriend, going to concerts, moving out. Even though things aren’t perfect it’s good to be mindful of how far I have come after all.
My own space. Wow. Hmm, do you think the url MYSPACE.COM is available? I might buy it and make it a presentation of my appartment.
My appartment.
Yikes. Wow. Weet.
I found out this morning. You’ll remember (no doubt) that the final date for people to respond to the appartment offer was on Monday. I didn’t figure I’d find out this fast. But I logged into my account on the housing organization website. And went to check on my waiting list status. And it said “You are not on any waiting lists because you are not actively looking for a place”. “Huh?” I thought. “Not actively looking, I’m actively looking… unless… unless I got the appartment and therefore am no longer looking”. Then I went to the page where you can check up on all the places you have been offered. There’s a list of every offer you’ve had and what you have responded. There was a whole list of places with “no” listed, all the ones I have turned down because they were too expensive or not allowed pets or whatever. And then there was the one I said yes to. It didn’t say “yes” at that one. It said “new tenant”. Tenant is the right word, yes? Anyway, it didn’t say “you’re the new tenant”. It just said “new tenant”, which in theory could mean someone else had gotten it and therefore my yes/no answer didn’t matter. Basically I was pretty sure I had gotten it, but not completely. So I called the housing organization just to be sure. And yup, t’was mine. I am the new tenant. I am no longer actively searching. Although I’m going to put myself back on the actively searching list for some of the better places. My first choice ones. The one I got was not my first choice, but I am still really happy and excited about it.
Ooh and I can start thinking about getting a cat! A kitty kitty kitty for me. Outstanding. I have to find out if there are any shelters closeby. I think that’s what I’ll do, adopt a cat from a shelter. Yes. Although I’d like to have a little kitten I think I will feel more comfortable getting one from a shelter. And I probably can’t get a bitty kitten there? I’d imagine. Also I like the idea of “rescuing” a cat. Maybe I can fill my appartment with animals. Plume’s Ark.
Hmm. Must make a list of things to buy. I have already bought a couple of random things, like a pot and a plastic container. But better make a list so I know exactly what I need.
1 cat
2 christmas tree
3 trampoline
And so on.
A month from now I’ll be sitting in my very own appartment. That blows my mind.

Mind

Are you still excited about the apartment? I couldn’t tell from your blog, hee, hee!
The pet shelters around here have loads of cats and kittens, bucketsfull or tubs-full. I would think your shelters would have a kitties, too. Definitely would think of getting it spayed/neutered.
We’re taking tomorrow off from work to celebrate the 4th of July. Don’t think Denmark celebrates our independence day. But it’s a holiday for Luis and me.
Sorry Stu . . . the colonies are still celebrating!
PS: *The Snashing Pumpkins* – do they have horrible snashing teeth???

Debster – I’m a little excited.. a little excited… A LITTLE EXCITED!! Hehe!
I have pondered just kittynapping Nina, but that would be a bit mean to the others at the playground. I’m sure I’ll find a wonderful kittycat at a shelter. Spayed and neutered and with all the shots and other such things that I don’t know much about!
We don’t celebrate the 4th of July here, no. Although maybe I’ll do a little celebration in honour of my posse in America. I hope you’ll have a nice day.
Maybe from now on I’ll celebrate my own independence day on August 1st. Finally on my own!
Don’t you know The Snashing Pumpkins? They are the evil twins of The Smashing Pumpkins. Yup. They all have beards.

July 4th is a fun time here in the States. But I think for Debster and myself and your many fans here, we’re so happy that you’ve got a little place of your own.
When I read it, I nearly fell out of my seat!! I couldn’t believe such great news to hear.
And yes, you must make a list of things you need for your mini-castle. You’d be surprised how the little things count like shower curtains, pots and pans, and even knives.
Of all the people I know, you deserve it the most because YOU worked at at it. It never was easy to come out of your shell. But you tried and you were able to make a dream become a reality.
If Debster and I were there, we’d help you move. Of course, I’ll “supervise” since I have a bad back and neck problems. Hee, hee!

Luis Lemmings – I hope you had a fun fourth. And that you didn’t fall off any chairs. That’s some dangerous stuff!
I almost bought a set of knives, forks and spoons yesterday. I didn’t actually like the way they looked but I was just so excited.. “ooh utensils for my new places!”. I decided to wait and actually get some that I like, that seems like a smarter thing. I don’t want to wake up one day and realize that I hate my spoons!
Feel free to supervise from afar, if you feel the need to shout out some orders for me! Hehe!

Compatibility with ones spoons are not to be overlooked!
