Keep Our Arms Open Wide

Did I mention that I have picked up Tina Dickow’s latest album?

Count To Ten. I am rather enjoying it. Most of the reviews have been great as well. Apart from Ekstra Bladet, of course. They seem to once again have re-printed the same review they use every time Tina releases anything… but anyway, it is good stuff. And Tina is still considered one of Denmark’s finest songwriters and singers. That makes me happy and proud. Even though I have had no hand in her success of course. Haha. But there’s still that odd little “I knew her! She knew me!” feeling.

Listening to the CD now makes me regret not getting tickets for the next concert in Århus. But I don’t have to see her EVERY time she comes to town, right? Yeah, keep telling yourself that Plume, you sucker.

I also missed the midnight release/signing session on Sunday. I didn’t really fancy going downtown at midnight. Stand in line to get 15 seconds where I don’t know what to say. By now she has surely forgotten all about me anyway. So what would have been the point… what would have been the point? Yeah, now I regret it of course. I can’t help but adore her. And now I have a crappy unsigned album. What a poor fan I am.

Anyway, I recommend you check her out when she starts touring the world again. Tina Dico will be the name. And if you can get your hands on Count To Ten then do so. I’m not sure when it will be released internationally. I’d imagine it pops up on iTunes some time, you can get older stuff of her’s there. And of course I’m sure it can be obtained in horrible illegal ways, but I’d never recommend that because we don’t want to rob Tina, do we know? Do the right thing. Honour your parents. Don’t cross for a red light. And for god’s sake, pet a goat. You must pet a goat. These are the rules to live by.

Speaking of petting goats, here is Mads.

Alone in his booth. While the buck had his pick of the girls. Poor Mads, no one to boss around!

Love is cruel to the sensitive kind. To inject a Tina line. I think my favourite song of the new album is You Know Better. I just thought you should know.

Today I got a letter from Peter at TMU. A printout of text and a CD with the files. For their website. So now I can get started. And hopefully I can come up with a decent result that they can use. It’s something to do. I’m no webdesigner (as you can tell from my site!), but text I should be able to replace at least.

Video time: http://youtube.com/watch?v=DjZLBwKtsxI. Just goats having fun. It starts out with the buck trying to romance Magnethe, so if you haven’t told your kids about the birds and the bees and the goats, then you shouldn’t let them watch that. Later on there are appearances by Per and Kurt and Alice and some kids. A good goat time.

Happy weekend to you all.

Mr. Longbeard Buck says to himself: “Am I the only one who knows why I’m here?” “No one is paying any attention to me.” “Baaaaaa, snort, sniff.”

Vanilje to Magnethe: “My, what a handsome buck that is.” “Do you know why he’s here?” “Nope, haven’t a clue.” “Let’s go see Plume.”

Mads: “I just don’t like him, I don’t know why, but I just don’t trust him.” “It’s those long ears of his, he doesn’t look trustworthy to me.” “And he smells funny.” Baaaaa. “Where’s my Plume?”

  2. Debster Says:

Have you seen “The Mean Kitty Song” (aka: Hey, Little Sparta) on YouTube? Luna Frodo better not be like this kitty. Can you sing??

  3. Plume Says:

Debster – Heehee! I like that. It reminds me of some kind of MTV’S REAL LIFE thing, only at the playground. And you have the goats sitting in the “video confession room” and talk about each other. I wonder who is going to be voted off!

I had not see the Mean Kitty Song, but I have now! I hope Luna Frodo won’t turn out to be a mean little assassin! I better get me some protective goggles. Or should that be giggles?

I don’t sing. Although I might have to learn how to, because it’ll be a little silly if I can’t sing once I’ve learned how to play my guitar.
