There’s Nothing Wrong With Ohio
Okay, now focus on the board.
Can you read the bottom line? The middle line? Well, what about the top line?! Wow, you’re bad at eyesight tests!
No, seriously. I speculated that my camera might be broken. And there you have the proof. When I have the zoom set to default (meaning: no zoom), the camera can’t focus. At all. Bugger. Luckily it helps if I push the zoom lever a little. Zoom in just a tiny bit. Then it starts to focus.
Can you read that? Yes, much better. But it’s still very annoying. It’s hard to tell whether the picture is going to be in focus or not. And having to zoom in to take a decent picture means I can’t quite be as close to the motif as before. It is no good, really. Lucky that I have been planning to buy a new camera, eh? Now there’s an excuse. I’m going to have to have a look around and see if it’s come to Denmark yet. Olympus SP-550 Ultra Zoom. That’s the one I want. Screw the finances, it’s not like paying the rent is important!
You can tell that moving out has made me into a very responsible person, eh?!
My left hand is tingling a bit. I must have a nerve squeezed somewhere.
It’s raining like heck outside. Beautiful.
[time passes]
I have now ordered myself the new camera. It was a lot cheaper than I thought. So that’s good. And 18x zoom. Like woah. I won’t need a telescope to spy on the neighbours, I can just use my camera. 2-3 days and then I’ll have a new toy to play with. This time I swear I’ll actually read the manual and get to know all the functions and how to get the optimal results from the camera. Unlike all my previous cameras where I have just been winging it.
Ooh, new pictures and a video from Desirée! My soon-to-be kitten, Luna Frodo.
God she is so gorgeous. I did not know they made kittens that wonderful. Oh we’ve all seen cute little kittens, but none as cute as mine. And video. Love, love, love. Today I went to the library and checked out Politikens Kattebog. And I snapped up a couple of other cat books as well. Couldn’t resist. Also picked up a little fiction, because the book I’m currently reading is completely awful. It’s an “unauthorised biography” of Gillian Anderson. The Anderson Files. I like biographies and this one was in English and cheaply for sale in a used-books shop. But oh boy, it’s horribly horrible. So I welcome some better reading material. And the library is handily placed right around the corner. Just outside the City Vest shopping mall. Five minutes away from everything I need.
Apart from the goats, of course.
But they’re worth the extra 15 minutes.
I made rice for dinner today. For the first time in my new appartment. And well, forever really. I have always been a little intimidated by rice. It seemed like a complicated thing to get right. But I bought these handy packages. With the rice in a little plastic bag that you just throw in the water and let boil. And somewhat to my surprise they turned out perfectly. Not mushy or creamed together or anything. They came out just like I like them. So now I guess I can add that to my list of things I can cook. Nice. I had cold chicken bits with it, lovely. My next project should be to finally unwrap that oven I bought and then actually make hot chicken. Yeah.
I am a little in love with this acoustic cover of Hey Ya. I want to buy Obadiah Parker CDs, but I don’t have paypal. Bastards! Get an international record deal you losers, how hard can it be?! I’m planning to get one when I learn how to play the guitar. Shouldn’t be a problem. And I mean all that with kind irony of course.
Shake it like a polaroid picture.

Goats and the library close by. . . my idea of heaven anyway. I combed our boys tonight. Their hair is so soft and I think they are starting to grow their winter coats. Yes, fall is on its way, finally. Today was a perfect day to paint outside. A little breeze, cooler weather, and in the shade. Couldn’t ask for more.
I was “pasta-challenged” like you in the past. I couldn’t do macaroni, spaghetti, or rice. Now I make Minute Rice in the microwave and it’s always good. I start the macaroni or spaghetti in a pot on the stove and let my husband decide when it’s ready. It’s either crunchy or glummy when I try to do it.
I also don’t know directions like north, east, west, and south. I go by landmarks like churches, big red house, dead cows, etc. My husband DREAMS in directions! He said he had a dream where he was south of where we live. I couldn’t believe he actually knew which direction he was in his dream. Is this a guy thing or what?

I have just died from cuteness overload!! I love your future kitty.
Oh, and I absolutely love that cover version and Obadiah Parker as well! Six or Seven is my all time favourite song of theirs. I am super happy that there is more Obadiah Parker love in the world.

Man, I thought my eyeballs fell out of my head! Thank goodness that wasn’t the case. Luna Frodo is such a cutie pie. I just want to squeeze her and hug her! I miss having kats.
The tabby that comes to my patio still arrives. He or she sleeps for a few hours, gets up, wanders about then leaves. Cest tres mysterieux!
Debster, think it’s a guy thing. I think in directions of north, south, west, east, too. Though if there’s a really great sale at Target, I’m off and running! Be damned with the directions!

Debster – I want to bring a comb to the playground now. I feel like combing goats. It’s been a while. And with the cold, cold weather I’m sure they must be growing coats.
Rice has always intimidated me, but I done spaghetti loads. That’s one of my fortés. Yes. I can boil spaghetti like nobody’s business!
Dreams in directions? Wow. I don’t think I do that. Although I sort of think of directions like North and south. It stems from playing text adventures on the old computers. You had to move by typing in directions. N for north and S for South. And so on. Maybe I should get a compass.
Belinda – Isn’t she just wonderful? I can’t wait.
I dig Obadiah Parker too. They sound really good. Although I have only been able to hear them on various youtubes. I can’t find anything else anywhere. If I had paypal I’d buy their albums, they seem awesome. I want a beard like that too.
LuisLemmings – I should mention that I don’t have insurance, so if your eyeballs fall out then you’ll have to pay for new ones yourself! Sorry about that.
I will make sure to share Luna Frodo’s wonderfulness generously.
