The Howling
I went to town today. Bought myself a memory card for the new camera. Now I am all set.
Let’s take another eyesight test.
You see that bus in the distance? Far, far away?
18x zoom later and I’m all up in that ass. As the kids like to say. That’s good zooming. I have to learn how to keep my hand more steady when I zoom that much. It’s hard in the wind. The wind is blowing and blowing. Last night was crazy. Stormin’ norman. I should have worn earplugs. Didn’t sleep much. Consequently I have been tired all day and had trouble focusing. My eyes are old and rotten.
I forgot to mention that when I went home from dinner at me parents yesterday, my dad accompanied me and helped me carry some furniture:
Next to my comfy chair. What is that called, chest of drawers? It’s from my old room, I had my old telly standing on it. Now I have chocked some vhs tapes and stuff in it. It won’t be too long before my appartment is all neat and arranged and organized. I like lying in bed and being able to see the whole place. Apart from the entrance hall and the bathroom of course. But at night, with the streetlights and the moon bathing the place in a soft light, I can see it all from my bed and it’s a sweet sight to behold.
Boy am I tired and my head hurting. But at least my eyes can focus again. Long night, long day.
On the whole Groundhog Day controversy I have just one thing to say. Two words: Roger Ebert. “Phil is played by Bill Murray, and Murray is indispensable; before he makes the film wonderful, he does a more difficult thing, which is to make it bearable.” Okay? I think that settles it. You wouldn’t argue with Roger Ebert, now would you?
Incidentally, have you seen that clip of Siskel and Ebert arguing? Wow. Youtube is a source of neverending fear and fascination. Today’s musical finish includes lots of animals, in some way. http://youtube.com/watch?v=3WwkN_EUhJc. I love the harmonies, in later stages. Mew, my favourite Danish band. Not counting Tina, of course. There are also animals, of sorts, in 156. And fireflies in Am I Wry? No.
There are also animals in the new book I have started reading. Goats, even! I didn’t know that, so I was pleasantly surprised. It’s about an African girl who was kidnapped into slavery though, so it’s not exactly a cheerful book. But I’m still in the beginning where it’s quite lovely and sweet. And where there are several funny goat mentions. I am just happy to have gotten that unauthorised Gillian Anderson biography done. Ugh. Appaling. But I’m no quitter. I don’t leave the theater if the movie sucks. I grind on till the bitter end. I wanted to finish the book. But it was so bad that it made me not want to read. I can already feel, starting this new book, that I feel like reading much more again. Funny. I still have the cat books as well, of course. I should find some goat books, real goat books. Maybe I’ll make a goat library. Great goats in litterature, I’m sure there must be many.
Hmm, I guess the new book isn’t fiction actually. Since it’s a biography as well, more or less. Are biographies fiction? What do you call them? Faction? Anyway, by fiction I mean books I read for enjoyment not for “how to” like “how to have a cat and not ruin it”.
So anyway, that’s the end of that blog.
Happy weekendses, precioussses.

You will have to come here and get us organized. My husband never puts anything away. I clear off a flat space and he immediately puts something on it.
Hooray! We actually didn’t work at all this weekend. We went to a dedication on Sat. in the small town where my husband’s Dad grew up. His Dad had a huge collection of old photos, clippings, memorabilia, etc. of the early town (middle 1800’s – 1950’s) and his estate is loaning it to their historical society to display. Then we had lunch and visited with his uncle and cousins and talked about the “good old days”.
Sunday we went to a craft/antique show outside. Lots of interesting things to see and best of all, we bought some fudge! We visited the Rose Garden where we were married 8 years ago as of Sept. 18th. The weather was beautiful and the trees are just starting to change color.
We went pumpkin picking in the afternoon and got pumpkins to decorate with outside and some for my Mom & Dad. Saw a few more people we knew and visited for awhile. What a fun relaxing weekend. Wish we had more of them.
Back to work on Monday to finish painting (I hope) a two-story house. Actually it has gone fairly well and I’ll get to see the hummingbirds again. Hope you’ve had a good weekend as well, my dear danish goat boy.

Debster – My secret to organizing things is to get lots and lots of drawers.- Then hide away all the junk in the drawers. That way it looks like your house is organized, but in truth the mess is just moved out of sight. Out of sight, out of mind. What were we talking about? I forget.
Sounds like a nice dedication. I remember the “good old days”. Last thursday, I believe. That was a good one!
I don’t think I’ve ever had fudge. Not by that name for certain, at least. Fudge darnit!
Say hello to the hummingbirds for me. Ask them to humm a nice tune, that’ll keep your spirits up while you work! Maybe some techno, get the blood boiling!
