The Snowplume
We’re into October. That means I have been living on my own for two months now. How about that. I think I can safely say that moving out has been one of the best things that have ever happened to me, if not the best.
I don’t know why I was so afraid of it. It’s been much easier than I thought it would be, really. Sure I still have lots of problems and things to deal with. But I don’t count living on my own as a problem, not anymore. If we disregard the recent tragedy, that which we do not want to think of, then it has been pretty much all positive.
I’m almost a little surprised. I’m actually doing it. And fairly well. It’s a good feeling. For so long I pictured myself as the posterboy loser, living at home at 30 with nothing and no one and no future. I still don’t know if I have much of a future, but I’m living on my own. So at least I have accomplished that.
Today I received the payment for the Seinfeld DVDs. The Cash On Delivery think worked out okay. I had been a little worried, but no need for that. So in two days I have sold my Simpsons and my Seinfeld collection. That makes the budget look a little better, after my reckless spending on Tina tickets.
Time for some pictures now.
Madsattack.
Magnethe’s tongue.
Vanilje daydreaming.
Vanilje and Magnethe. A family came and gave some leaves to the goats. Vanilje got a mouthful there, and Magnethe is investigating whether she can steal some of it. And she did actually manage to grab the branch and leaves right out of Vanilje’s mouth. It’s a constant fight for survival in the goat world.
Finally, a youtube I found. http://youtube.com/watch?v=ponB8Hd_lG4. The Snowman. I found it on youtube last night. I had previously looked for it without luck. But there it was. It made me more or less decompress, a thousand memories, nostalgia, melancholy, regret, joy. Everything. I’m sure you know it. The animated movie. The snowman coming alive and taking flight with the boy. To Walking In The Air. I find it endlessly beautiful and wonderful. You know I love snow. The idea of making a snowman and having him come to life, it fascinated and thrilled me. And I would look forward to watching it every christmas. Mens Vi Venter. “While We’re Waiting”, the christmas day show. Disney postcards and traditions. So many memories and feelings. Watching it makes me feel like a robot from a bad sci-fi show, you know when the robot shuts down because of emotional overload or a logical dilemma or something. Too much input.
I am however horrified at this http://youtube.com/watch?v=xfiqrkV_ZqI. I cry rape. How could they possibly do that? Oh dear. I was practically tearing my hair out as I was searching for the “real” snowman on youtube and coming up with only that. Sell our memories, why don’t you?
That’s all for today. Tomorrow is the big laundry day. I’m a little nervous about it, mainly because I am confused by the idea of having BOTH washing powder and liquid soap. OVERLOAD OVERLOAD DOES NOT COMPUTE.

Sorry… the Irn Bru advert gets 10 points from me for featuring the Falkirk Wheel.

Oh, yes. I remember “The Snowman” and that beautiful song. I’ve only seen it a few times, but I remember it after watching the youtube video. I always liked it because of all the little animals: the rabbits, pheasants, fox, horse, and reindeer. I’m a sucker for little animated animals, even more so when they talk!
I saw a little bit of the Garfield movie today at lunch and saw a “Goat”. Hooray, goats need to be in more film and movies. Of course, there’s the Aflac commercial with the Boer goat eating paper and shaking his head “no, no, no” when they ask him a question.
Maybe there will be someone else in the laundry room you can ask the soap question. Maybe it means one OR the other, but not both.
You will be showing us a picture of a washing machine overflowing with rivers of sudsy soap – Plume does a comedic laundry routine! hee, hee

It’s a fascinating scientific eco-friendly canal boat lift… the first thing they fly over.

Hi!
I haven’t commented in a looong while, but I read your blog quite often (I sent you a dingo postcard once). Just wanted to share this cute goat picture, ’cause it made me think of your goats:http://www.fotocommunity.de/pc/pc/mypics/12278/display/7980705
All of her (Tanja Askani) pictures are amazing, take a look!

The only thing I remember of “The Snowman” was the little boy flying with the snowman.
Then the snowman disappears and the little boy is sad.
We don’t have snow in San Diego.
So when I was a tiny tot we made “mudman.”
Oh, memories…
**sniff**

Debster – Lots of sweet little animals in it yes. I still have my Garfield dvd to watch. The one I got as a going away present at Kulturgyngen.
Haha I just looked up the Aflac commercial on youtube. That was cute. Of course I’d rather have a goat than some fancy aflac. I didn’t e ven pay attention to what the aflac is, I just enjoyed the goat’s performance!
Laundry was postponed. But I ‘ll try to make it comedic when it happens!
Stu – That’s quite impressive. I still don’t approve of the commercial though :-P
Katrine – That’s a great photo! Thank you for the link. It reminds me of classic Mads.
LuisLemmings – I didn’t remember all of the parts of The Snowman either, it’s been many years since I last saw it. But then it all came rushing back.
At least a mudman can’t melt. I guess if the sun starts shining then he gets baked?
