The Machines Of Plume
I fed the animals today. It went nice and easy. Last time the horses were all galopping around and trying to kill me with superkicks. Today they came up to the fence and waited for me before I even got there. And they didn’t try to kill me even once.
Although Mads did try to hide under the hay for some reason. Okay, that reason might be that I accidentally dropped the hay on his head. Possibly. Sorry, old fella!
Vanilje. Always very impatient when it’s feeding time. I hadn’t even brought the food yet, but she was still up and trying to eat my hand and the camera lens strap.
Also had dinner with the parents today. Was quite good. They showed me pictures from their trip to Prague. I recognised lots of places. I visited Prague with my school class many, many, many years ago. It looked pretty much like I remember it. There was one picture, of the cross at Theresienstadt, that looked almost exactly like a picture I took all those years ago. Funny that.
I’m very, very tired now. Better wrap it up and post. Happy weekend, yalls.

After my husband had mowed grass this summer, he would rake it up in piles out by the field. Billy would go over to the piles of dry grass and end up with a huge horn-full of grass on his head. Doing his “tropical goat with grass hat” fashion statement.
My Dad’s birthday was Saturday, but we celebrated on Sunday morning by going out for a breakfast buffet. Yummy! I’m ready for a nap now.
Think we are going to get the barn ready for the winter. Put up some tarps to keep the wind off the goats when they’re inside. Plus will be a little warmer for us in the dead of winter! It has been getting to almost freezing during the nights, so will have to get their electric water bucket out and ready to go so they can have unfrozen water.
The boys are really getting wooly coats the last several weeks. I can almost see Frankie’s hair growing! They have been frisky with the cooler weather.
Daylight savings time ended for us this weekend. It will be soooo dark sooo early this evening. Can’t wait for the winter solstice in December and longer days to come.
My mood really changes with the longer nights. I don’t think I could live where there is 6 months of nights all the time. I would want to hibernate with the bears and groundhogs and wake up in the spring.

I had to turn all the clocks back one hour this morning. And now everything seems odd outside. The night will come sooner and the day will leave quicker.
I’ll bet Billy looks just like Mads in the photo. When my dogs years ago, I used to drop a towel on them and they would bark at me to take it off.
But when I put a towel on my head, they would leap up and tear it off. I guess they wanted to be sure it’s me and not someone else.
Prague is a very beautiful place. I’ve seen pictures and watched documentaries on the city. I wasn’t lucky enough to go to Prague for a school trip, but we did go to the Beach in La Jolla. I remember picking up seashells since we had to take them and glue them into an art project.

Lasse: I have e-mailed you some more goatzy pictures!

Debster – Hehe, I can just imagine. I don’t think goats can resist piles of anything, they must investigate. And if they end up with half the pile on their head, well then that’s just the way it is.
Happy birthday to your dad! I would have sent him some raisins and nuts but hmm.. someone seems to have “ated” it all. I don’t know who could have possibly done that. Although those hoof marks are a bit incriminating I think…
Wow. Electrical water bucket!? That’s so fancy. I should mention that to the playground folks, then we wouldn’t have to keep breaking the ice (so to speak).
The playground goats are getting woolier now as well. Magnethe is starting to turn gray almost, hehe. It’s less noticeably on Mads obviously. But I’m sure he’ll come along soon enough.
Thank you for the pictures! They were lovely. I envy you that you have goats right outside like that. The one with your husband was especially sweet. But don’t tell him I said that, he might start getting a big ego like the goats!
LuisLemmings – It would be interesting if one just “refused” the time change. Just kept on living like the clocks hadn’t changed. Of course, it would probably also be a bit difficult and you’d miss a lot of tv programs and meetings and so on. Maybe it’s a stupid idea when you think about it.
Prague is very cool and interesting. There aren’t many seashells though, so perhaps you were the lucky ones.

Oops, too late . . . all the goatzy boys and my husband have big egos!

Debster – I guess you must be the only one there who doesn’t have a big ego then! Riiiight?!
