Counting Goats

Today I had a little soup for lunch. And then a little more for dinner. Cause that’s how I roll.

Otherwise nothing to report. The quiet life goes on. Tomorrow is laundry day. Thursday is Lost day. And everyday is goat day.

buckmagnethe

One goat, two goats.

mads

Three goats, four goats, five go.. oh wait, that last one isn’t a goat. Well, not quite anyway.

vanilje

Vanilje is a goat. And lookie here.

udders

Teats. Her udder is growing. Now I wonder if I only noticed it today but it’s been there for a while. Or if it’s a recent development. I would like to think that it is a sign of babies to come, soon.

Then I can keep counting goats.

As Sally Field said at the Oscars: “You like me! You really like me!!”

Don’t worry I fought off the monsters that tried to eat me and dug my way out of the cave.

My mother has been very, very sick (she has cancer) for the past two weeks and I’ve been down at her house to take care of her, the house, drive her to the hospital, etc. My father is disabled and can’t do too much these days. So I’ve been doing most of the work.

Man, it’s been so busy! I’m absolutely exhausted at the end of the day. I keep telling them to move to a smaller place since their house is so big. I’ve been thinking of having them move in with me. My house is smaller and I’ve been wanting a smaller place closer to downtown San Diego.

But I’ve been reading all the entries, Plume, your comments Debster so I’m always here if in spirit only. They have really kept me in a happy mood.

I really like your new slippers! They look very warm and cozy. It’s been frightfully cold here and everyone wears coats and hats.

You know, in no time there will be baby goats running around. I can’t wait! Little Plume; Little Debster; Little Luislemmings: dude, there’s no doubt all three will get into so much trouble! :)

Vanilje is going to be a mama goat. How sweet. And Magnethe, too. Such lovely goaty pictures.

LuisLemmings: I’m so glad to hear from you. I was worried you were sick. I’m sorry to hear about your Mom. Is she having chemo or radiation? Please take care of yourself as well. It is hard being a caregiver.

Well the temperature this morning was 54 F ( that’s 12.2 C) and tonight it is down to 8 F (-13.3 C) with a nice northerly wind of 24 – 30 mph with gust up to 50 mph. I think the “blizzard” missed us, as we were to get several inches of snow, but that didn’t happen.

The goatzies were content to eat hay and drink water inside the barn. No one wanted to go for a walk tonight. We would have to rope ourselves together anyway. Wouldn’t want a goat to go flying off down the road.

Lasse, is it my imagination or is Mads’ beard getting longer? It looks several inches longer than it was before. Our goats drink water, then their beards freeze. One way to tell how cold it is . . . when there’s an icycle hanging from your goat!

LuisLemmings – We like you, we really do! I’m glad you’re okay. But sorry to hear about your parents. It’s a good thing they have you to help out. I hope things will be okay, as okay as they can be. Maybe you can hire Sally Fields as a nurse? We would like her too then.
I get all excited just thinking about the mischeif that those baby goaties are going to do!

Debster – They will be sweet mamas, no doubt.
Flying goats eh? An updated version of the flying nuns. Maybe I can use Mads as a hot air balloon. Don’t tell him I said that though!
Icicles from your goat ! Teehee. That’s funny. I have never seen that. Maybe this year, since Mads’s beard is growing.
