Getafe
Guess who I hung out with today? I’ll give you a hint. They have four floppy ears and jump around a lot.
Another day with the kids, and I’m not complaining.
You haven’t lived if you haven’t watched a goat kid run full speed straight at you then jump up in the air right at you. And then you catch it in your arms. That’s good times.
Straight at you.
Bouncybouncy.
I shall be feeding the animals tomorrow. The playground staff is having an all-day meeting. So I will be on call. Saturday is my regularly scheduled feeding day. It’s not often I do it two days in a row. Hopefully I’ll be able to sleep well tonight. I’m still a litty fuzzy after the daylights savings thing and the lost laundry Monday.
In other news, my parents returned home from a trip to Sweden today. They’d been gone since Tuesday. And unfortunately they came home and discovered that someone had broken into our house. But luckily nothing seems to be missing. My dad says that someone had gone through some of his boxes in the room where he keeps all his stamps. And they can’t find the torchlight. And there might be some small change missing. But the TV/DVD/Computer and so forth hasn’t been touched. Maybe the burglars were interrupted by noises outside before they managed to grab anything. I was talking to dad on the phone and he speculated that maybe it was some local kids who didn’t want to be “mean” and strip the place, but were just looking for petty cash for beer or something. I don’t know. Doesn’t seem so likely to me. But who knows. It’s just good that nothing seems to be missing.
It’s the first time something like this has happened to me or my family. I have actually been feeling quite paranoid about that, because statistically how likely is it that you go through life without experiencing a break-in? It was kinda bound to happen sooner or later, I figure. If I could get away with just experiencing it in my old home with nothing missing then I’d be glad. I do still worry that it will happen here. When I have been out and I come back home, the first thing I do when I open the front door is cast a glance into the living room to see that the computer is still standing there, where I left it. I don’t know what I’d do if I ever got burglarized. I could replace the physical components, but losing all my stuff on the computer would be horrible. I’d feel like my life was over.
Always silly, Plume.
Maybe some day crime will be a thing of the past. Silly, silly.

Oh, no. That’s too bad about your parents getting broke into. Did they call the police?
Whenever we go away or my Mom & Dad leave, we usually have the neighbors keep watch. Last year when Mom & Dad were gone for a few days, we went over to the house to get the mail, feed the kitty kats, and just check on things.
Are your parents friendly with the neighbors? Maybe it would be a good idea to warn them about the break-in. Unless, of course they have the kind of neighbors you don’t want to talk to.
Forgot to tell you we saw the neighbor’s baby goats again this week. They were the ones born on Feb. 14th. They are growing so fast, but still have that high-pitched baaaa. (Not doing the “Benny Hill” chase routine this time around.)
We were also greeted by the male miniature donkey. His bray sounded like a really, really bad imitation of a person doing a donkey imitation! He was loud. If you were lost in a dense fog, you could find your way to his barn stall in no time.
It was still “Be Good to Your Human” day yesterday. The goats were just so lovey and smiley. Everyone wanted scratches, even John Boy. Frankie wanted to shake hands and chew on my thumb. Billy did his gazing into my eyes bit and was blissed out by shoulder massages. No one ever said “our” goats were spoiled!
LuisLemmings: have you seen any baby goats yet?

Man, that’s really awful! Thank goodness no one was home at the time, and that whomever took stuff didn’t take everything.
Do you have Neighborhood Watch programs like they have here in the States? We have one in my neighborhood but the police patrol the area anyway so it kind of died out year ago.
I see the goats tomorrow, Debster. I’m looking forward to it! I hope they don’t lunge at me like Bat Boy.
Google Bat Boy and you’ll see why.
Scary stuff!

Debster – Yup, they called the police. Of course there’s not so much they can do, I mean they barely have time and staff to deal with all the murders and fires and terrorism and such. A little break-in with nothing missing isn’t high on the priority list. But my dad said that the police officer he talked to was very nice. So that’s good.
My brother had been over to check on the place and empty the mail and such. My dad said that he’d felt “something was wrong” or somethng like that, but hadn’t discovered the break-in. I think we have a pretty do relationship with the neighbours, don’t know if they’ve talked to them about this though.
You’re making me want to meet donkeys now! I’m not sure I have ever seen one in person. Maybe I should try and convince Per and Alice that the playground really, really needs a donkey!
LuisLemmings – Yes, it could have been much worse. Seems only thing they took was spare change, and maybe not even that. Still scary though.
I think there is some sort of neighbourhood watch thing, but I don’t think it’s very organized. I think it’s basically some stickers and that’s it. But everyone is encouraged to keep an eye out on the neighbourhood, there has been break-ins before. Ones where things have been stolen.
I hope the goat thing will go well, or has gone well depending on the time you read this. I’m sure they won’t lunge much, they’d probably much rather lounge. Bring a comfy sofa! Looking forward to hearing all about it!
