Twixt The Twine
I’m not doing too greatly. I am being sad and tired most of the time. And the words won’t really express what I want to say, for some reason.
Let’s take some pictures instead, they are nice and happy.
Little Chokolade. Huge little Chokolade.
And with mama Magnethe.
And Lakrids with mama Magnethe. The girlies are so big now. I was giving them raisins from my pocket and they started butting heads and pushing each other away. Real goats, wanting the treats for themselves. When they aren’t competing for treats they get along just fine though.
A boy giving fresh leaves to the goats. “Do you remember when Mads was our friend?” he said. “Now he’s up in the sky. He can watch the planes flies by”. Nice kid. He wanted me to play a game with him, I’m not sure if it was a computer game or a board game. We never got around to it, because I was spending all my time with the goats. But maybe next time.
Per, the nice intern lady and Kurt. Saying hello to Thor. And me. It was nice talking to them. Kurt has been around quite a bit lately. That’s good. Maybe he’ll bring some new lambs some time. It’s been a long time since we had lambs.
And Thor of course. A poor picture, but it shows off his mane a bit. And it shows that he likes being scratched between the horns. He loves it. And he’s very affectionate, rubbing his head on me all the time. Which is a lot nicer than rubbing his horns on me, hah.
He’s a sweet little fella. And I guess I’ll just have to get used to smelling of buck. It’s not too overpowering yet. I actually find it nice. I’m not sure my fellow bus passengers agree, though. Oh well. They don’t know the joy of goats, their loss.
Well, that made me feel a little better. Goats have a way of doing that.

My, those girls have gotten big! They’re almost not little baby goatzies any more.
I don’t really find that male goat smell very offensive either. My husband doesn’t smell it at all! Maybe I was a female goat in a previous life??
Plumey, just write what you want to say. If you’re sad, just say so. It’s okay. It’s normal and you will get through it and yes, you will feel better.
This is something Mads is still teaching you even after he’s gone. Life does go on. You will get up in the morning, go visit the playground, talk to Kurt and the kids.
There are goats and bunnies and even people around to help you get through this. Sometimes you just have to show up and go through the motions and your brain catches up later.
Don’t wait till you feel like doing something, do it whether you feel like it or not. Lots of times you will see that you really did get more enjoyment out of an activity than you thought you would.
If you’re listening to music, start with something at the level you feel, then gradually add some more upbeat songs, until you get to a song that has really good memories/feeling for you. Sometimes that will get you out of a slump. It really does work.

If you’re getting tired not being very active (and I know it’ll have something to do with sadness too :[) you might be anaemic, have you ever had a test?
I’m tired literally all the time now and it’s getting me down, but it runs in our family so I’m getting a test on the 1st.
Love xx

Debster – Maybe you and your husband were a cute little goat couple in a previous life. I like that thought.
Thank you for the advice. It is good. Since Mads is gone my excitement for going to the playground has sort of gone too… but I know that once I’m there I will be glad and it will make me feel better. Just have to get out and do it. Lately just getting out of bed seems a struggle.
Clare – WEll I had various blood tests done some years ago, for hormonal stuff. I got a clean bill of health. I don’t know if anemia was part of the tests though. I barely know what it is. Although it reminds me of a Nirvana song.

To increase your iron, you need to eat meat, green leafy vegetables, raisins, etc. Caffeine can deplete your iron levels.
I found that out when I had been drinking lots of iced tea and then went to donate blood. Too low an iron count means you can’t donate at that time.
