The Apples Of My Eyes

Yesterday I was on feeding duty at the playground. I tells ya, it’s weird feeding just two goats. There’s almost no carnage and confusion. Almost.

Just as I was closing up, a family arrived. A mum and a dad and their boy and girl. I was just saying goodbye to the goats, all the other places were closed. The mother poked her head in and asked if I could perhaps open up to the pig, because they had some apples and bread and it would mean a lot to their little boy if they could give it to the pig. Of course I couldn’t say no to that so I let them in to spend a little time with Gertrude. And I spent a little extra time with the goats in the meanwhile.

It was nice to see how happy the kids got. And Gertrude didn’t exactly seem to mind the extra attention (and food) either.

Also, some pictures from Friday. A man came by with a plastic bag full of apples for the goats. Perfectly sized apples as well. Just the right size for getting the whole thing in your mouth in one go. Quickly followed by the characteristic crunch as the apple is broken. And then lots and lots of chewing as the apple is grinded (ground?) down into a yummy pulp. It’s always a lot of fun to watch. So here goes.

Fun, yes?

Feeling somewhat better, sleeping better, doing okay most of the time. For now.

That’s funny how they are both smiling in the last two pictures.

We had apple-eating goats and a donkey tonight. They do love their apples. Lots of crunching and juicy-ness going on with our apples.

How nice for Gertrude! I’m glad there are “pig people” just like there are “goat people”.

Glad to hear you’re feeling better. Don’t by so shy next time . . . just ask me for that butt-kicking when you start to feel down.

LuisLemmings and I will get you back on track. That’s the least we can do for our favorite danish goat boy!

    Nom nom nom!

    (Yes… “ground”)

You know, you should have taken a photo of you eating an apple, too. I think that would be shwell!

As for the butt-kicking, hey, even for me, that’s too weird…

Debster – They are “apple smiles”. With the apples ground to a pulp and being enjoyed eversomuch.
It was very sweet how the two kids loved the big pig so much. I’m sur Gertrude was applesmiling as well.

    Stu – Perfect imitation!

LuisLemmings – Haha. Well I’m afraid I eat my apples in bites, it’s less entertaining. Maybe I should try fitting a whole apple in my mouth sometime. I could perform it as a trick and have people throw coins for me.
