Vitaminacid

I had a little sleep relapse. Went to bed at 7 pm yesterday. And got up at 7 am today. But at least that’s only half a day.

I had good dreams. One of them involved Magnethe. I think I had stolen her from the playground. She was in the back yard at my parents’ place. Oh to have a place with a yard and a goat or two of my own. That would be a dream come true.

I have bought carrots and vitamins. Not for the goats, but for me. I was inspired by a TV programme. It said that carrots are good for your eyes. Vitamin A. Or something. My eyesight is deteriorating. I have no doubt that I am slowly going blind. Maybe some vitamins will help. Maybe not. It’s worst in the mornings. Sometimes my vision is so blurry that I can barely read the computer screen. It’s probably that tumor in my brain. Not that I’m being pessimistic or anything. I see the glass as half full. OF POISON.

I have ordered myself a book, I have. Things The Grandchildren Should Know. Not only the title of an awesome song, but also of a book. As soon as I found out about that I knew I had to get it. And since it wasn’t anywhere to be found in the Danish library system I had to order myself a copy. Mark Oliver Everett (or E as I like to call him, and E when you call me you can call me Al) is just a brilliant songwriter. Eels is my fourth favourite band in the world and I relate to his lyrics very much. I can’t wait to read his story. So a must-have book. Even if I have to pay for it.

Should be here in a couple of days to timely interrupt my Stephen King reading list. Currently: Nightmares And Dreamscapes.

Later that day I went to have dinner with the parents. Excellent chicken. I also stopped by my brother’s place. I mentioned that I tried to set up his TV but there was something wrong with the signal, right? Well my parents and my brother went to Copenhagen Thursday to Saturday and I took the chance to take my parents’ VCR up to my brother’s place (he lives 5 minutes away from them so that wasn’t so hard). I hooked up the VCR but still couldn’t get the TV channels to come through. So from that I could conclude that it wasn’t just a problem with his TV, but a problem with the signal itself. Now they’ve had a guy from the cable company come and check it out and it turns out that they had made a mistake when they made the big channel frequency change and my brother wasn’t getting the proper signal. That’s fixed now so today I could set up his TV so he got all his channels and everything is working properly. And that just better be the last time I deal with that frequency change. I have set up my own TV, my VCR and my DVD recorder. Then my parents’ VCR. And their TV twice because uncle Jens (bless ‘im) messed the first go up. And then three stops at my brother’s apartment to get his TV working. The next thing you know there will probably be a letter from the cable company in my mailbox saying “oh we’re just going to change it all once more, sorry bout that”. I would have to go postal, I would.

Not that I mind doing it. It’s quite nice to help out the family with these things. It’s good to feel needed every once in a while, and they’re always very greatful.

Also I seem to have bought a pack of eggs where they all have double yolks. At least the first 6-7 eggs have all had a double yolk, so I imagine they all do. I wonder if it’s some kind of genetically engineered, or perhaps mutated, chicken that only lays eggs with two yolks. Somewhat peculiar.

And with that I bid thee adieu, Amadeus.

PS. I love The Middleman. It is chockful of geeky fun. “Kiss my Asimov”. Oh yeah. Too bad it’s getting canceled most likely. All the good shows die young. Except the ones that don’t. You mark my words.

Now you know, in the US, we go to digital TV in Feb 2009. We’re supposed to get convertor boxes if we’re not already digital. We think we’re ok with our TV downstairs, but not sure about the smaller one upstairs.

We may need you to come help us out! Plume’s new job: helping the digitally-challenged Americans with their TV’s. There are ONLY 90 different convertor boxes you can get. So better start reading up on those 90 boxes so you can help us. (ha, ha)

That sound like an interesting book you ordered. You will have to give us a “book report” after you read it, please.

Well, the goat-to-goat grapevine must not be working. Did your goats tell you it’s my birthday on the 28th? I told our goats, but they must not have passed the word on to you. Silly goats.

My sister’s birthday is today, the 27th, and we are celebrating both our birthdays on Thursday by going out to eat tacos, enchiladas, taco salads, nachos, etc. We are having a cherry cheesecake for dessert.

I think it’s supposed to rain on my birthday, so “Hooray” no working outside on Thursday! A day off! Wow, I’m excited.

Debster – hay hay! happy birthday to you and your sister. I hope you’ll have a nice time out. With lots of nuts and raisins, or whatever it is humans consider a feast! And save a dance for me,although I warn ya I am all right hooves.
