Good birthday times today. Off to see the goats. They celebrated by letting me give them treats, always so considerate! Then over to the parents for a bit of cake. That’s all the partying I can handle, I’m all worn out!

Congratulations to the other Danish guy having a special day today. Thomas Vinterberg is the first Danish director ever to be nominated for the Best Director oscar. Hooves cvrossed for him. I don’t really care that much about the oscars anymore, but hey it would be neat to see a Dane win it. Somehow the academy still refuses to include a category for ‘best goat video’ so I guess I’ll never get one.

I managed to send my new smart phone back. So hopefully I’ll get my money back for it. I’m the kind of super-avoidant personality that normally if I regret a purchase I just take the hit. I lose the money even if I have the right to return, I’d rather lose the money than deal with returning the item. And I might even have done that this time too, if it weren’t for the fact that the company I bought from limits you to buying one phone per 6 months. And they have the cheapest phones around. So if I didn’t return the phone then I’d have to wait 6 months until I can buy from them again…
Well now hopefully I’ll get my money back (you’re allowed to test out the phone and still return it) and then I’ll buy another cheap phone that actually runs android and then I’ll get the fb app on there and then I’ll validate my geographical existence to fb and then I’ll be allowed to post on Mia’s page again.
Assuming nothing goes wrong. But since something always goes wrong, I’m sure something will go wrong. But whatever.
To be honest there’s kind of a relief in not having to spend so much time and energy on the page. It’s almost like a vacation. But then on the other hand I miss it too, and miss all the positive energy it brings.
We’ll see how it goes now.

Good goat times today. A beautiful, sunny day. Very cold in the morning. But the sun did its thing and I got some t-shirt time with the goats. Feeling a little spring. Maybe that was why Nuller was trying to hump Lily. That’s your momma, boy! Sheesh. Later Lily was sitting on the bench and Nuller jumped up and started pawing the bench like they paw the ground before sitting down. Except he was hitting Lily more than he was hitting the bench. And Lily kept snapping her head back like ‘quit bugging me kid’. Haha. Eventually he did manage sit down and then they relaxed together in the sun. It’s still one of my favourite things, how they always sit together. And in general there was lots of lounging in the sun today. It’ll be even better when it gets a little warmer.

I wanted to send some love out to Jen Diaz who just lost a precious kitten. I’m not sure how many people know this, but Jen was the one who created Mia’s page back in the day. It’s something I don’t think I’d ever have done on my own, and back then I thought ‘ok I guess I can post a couple of things and no one will care and then that’ll be that’. But now here we are. In a way, all of you good people that I know through Mia’s page and the goat comminity, well in a way that’s thanks to Jen. And she’s still on the page as an admin and when things are going wrong, like currently, she’s always doing her best to help in any way she can. I’m lucky to have her as a friend.
And it’s so unbearably unfair how our little furry friends can be so fragile and their lives, even when there’s no disasters, can be so much shorter than ours. It feels just so… yeah unfair. I’ve been there, waking up one day and suddenly everything is changed and you’re in pain and blaming yourself and blaming the world and it’s just.. not fair.
And most of you, if not all of you, have been there. Will be there. There is no love without pain.
Thank you all for loving. And thank you Jen, for changing the course of my life.

Looks like Sassy is done for the day. So am I. I have actually been feeling a bit unwell. It started when I got back from the goats on Thursday. I started feeling queasy and had to throw up. And let’s just say there was goat berry mash. And then I just felt worse and worse, nauseated and dizzy and like my limbs were all heavy. I felt too bad to even get up and go to bed. So I grabbed a couple of painkillers and collapsed in my comfy chair and napped for an hour. And that did seem to help considerably. Felt good enough to go to bed properly. I’m feeling better now, pretty much back to normal I think. I’m not sure what happened. Maybe I’m allergic to cats? Or maybe itw as a stomach bug or flu or whatever, coupled with the fact I’d only napped a couple of hours the night before instead of going to bed. My sleep cycle is weird. Anyway. Onwards or upwards. Or rather, downward to the bed and inwards to dreams, for another cycle of weirdness. Hope you’re all doing well out there. I have also been feeling the depression, a sort of lack of purpose because of not being able to use Mia’s page, along with serious lagging issues on my computer. And you know I just had a birthday, I’m getting too old for this shirt. The hawaiian one, you know. Bahama mama. Big mama. hey ya.

Good goat times today. Our sunny streak continues. Still very cold in the mornings, below freezing at night. But sunny days are always good. We had a bunch of visitors too, out enjoying the good weather and seeing the goats. Remember I mentioned a little girl called Emma who was running awy from her caretakers? She was there today. And she’s been there a couple of other times. And every time I eventually hear one of the grownups calling out “No, Emma, come back!”. Haha. She likes to try to run off.
We had another really sweet visitor that I think some of you will love, but I’ll tell you about that later, with photographic accompany.
Other than that, lots of debarking branches and lots of lounging in the sun. The playground staff has been clearing out some of the pile branch. It was getting really big and unwieldy, so it’s probably good that they’ve been cleaning it up. I wonder if they’ll end up taking it all away? I hope not. It’s nice to have SOME branches for the goats to nibble on and sharpen their horns on. But it’s nice to have some space cleared. And I think they put in a new pallet or two. Less branches, more pallets. Good for the goats to climb around on. And today Mia’s favourite place to relax was on the highest pallet. I tried a couple of time to get her to come over and sit on the bench with me, but no dice. She wanted to sit on the pallets. Probably because that was the perfect place for maximum sunshine. Like sitting on top of a mountain. So I went and sat with her there, even though it’s not very comfortable, at least for me. But I’ll never get tired of sitting in the sun and listening to Mia’s snoring with her head againt me. Perfect.

Here’s our little visitor today. Little kitty! We’ve had cats visiting before, but they usually run away immediately. This one was super friendly. It came over to me and let me pet it. I understand why you cat people love them. Of course goats are my great love. But there’s something super sweet and appealing about such a soft, little sweetheart. It was prettty small, I don’t know if it qualifies as a kitten or just a young cat.
The goats were not impressed, but not really too bothered either.
And hey, it just occured to me that I had that dream about cats turning into tigers and lions. I wonder if I summoned this ferocious beast…

Hah, this cracks me up. Maybe I should be making a disgruntled kitten meme.
The kitten was actually very happy and friendly. At one point I was rubbing its tummy and it was doing that thing when the cat is lying on its back and sort of scrunching up with it’s paws. I wasn’t sure if it was going to try to scratch or bite me, but no it seemed to enjoy it. It was sooo soft. Soft kitty, warm kitty.

I can’t post on Mia’s page anymore. It wants me to do the publishing authorisation thing, and now it watns me to turn on location services on my mobile device, and I don’t have a mobile device so..

So, this is probably a dumb question but… do smart phones use the internet? Like, if I get a smart phone do I have to connect to an The Internet? Does it work over phone…stuff? If I get a cheap smartphone and put in my sim card from my dumb phone will that just work? Will I be able to install the fb app on smartphone and verify my location and then never use the smartphone again.
Had a chat with fb support and he ended it with thanking me for remaining calm. Haha. I bet they get tons of abuse when they can’t fix peoples problems.

Hey, do any of you out there have an old used smart phone or device that you don’t use and that has no plan attached or anything and that you’d want to give to me? Do things like that even exist? Why can’t it be the 90s, everything was better then.
I’m looking at phones but it’s all new and smart and expensive and with plans attached and I just need something for 5 minutes every once in a while. GRumble. Anyone? I’ll reimburse your postage plust a little extra. Just needs to be able to install the fb app and take a sim card. I guess. Sigh.

Well I got my new phone!
I unpacked it and couldn’t figure out how to open it up to put the battery in so I threw it in the trash and I’m ragequitting facebok.
Okay, the last part is a lie. For a phone designed for elderly and impaired people I wish it just had a big button that says OPEN on it. Haha. I’ll have to look at it later. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe i’ll have a look in the manual. I don’t want to break the thing apart.
And hopefully I can get the fb app to work and it can locate my geographical location, geographically. And then I can beam back to Mars and stop pretending i’m located on Earth!

Apparently it can days for the geographic validation to go through on the fb. That’s not good. I cannot be using the phone for general facebooking. I was hoping I could just log in and it would see where I was and that would be it. I may have to take some days off facebook and just leave it on my phone until it validates. Or something. Grrurgh. I may also just dump Mia’s page. I started a new one already, I can just use that. I’d just have to make sure it doesn’t get popular hah. What a mess.

Great. Just great. Managed to get on fb on my phone. With a lot of trouble. But it won’t receive the confirmation code that fb says it sent to my mobile device. And I think it’s because the phone has the fb lite app. Of course I had to go and get the oldfolks phone that runs a proprietary OS that isn’t android or… the other one. FB said it needed android or .. the other one. So that means.. I wasted my money and time and effort.
Now I have to see if I can return the phone and get some money back, and deal with people in the process. Maybe I can swap it for an android device, but I’m probably not that lucky. So it’ll be another week before I get stuff fixed, if I do at all.
I am very tired of it all. Stressed and depressed.
