Hello world. I took a lille break from you. I was supposed to go see the goats yesterday, but I couldn’t. do anything. You know that feeling? I ended up in bed for 24 hours. Which was pretty great, really. Slipping in and out of dreams. Scary, wonderful, strange dreams. The best was one that left me feeling reallyl oved. Not something I feel a lot. I know I’m loved in real life, but there is physical distance and emotional boundaries and endless untold mental inhibitions. And in my core I still hate myself. That dream was full of close, intimate, really felt love and I woke up thinking ‘thank you’. I don’t know if that was to the person in the dream or to my brain or whatever. But I was just greatful for that feeling.
It’s always tempting to stay in the dreams. Like the old scifi trope of chosing the simulation over reality. Reality is dark,blind, sad, pain, physical decay and emotional anxiety. Dreams are sparkly magic. If I could find some spell to draw you all and the goats with me into the dreamworld then I totally would kidnap you all and hold you hostage with my gummi bear bazooka. Good goat times today. Turns out by not going yesterday I missed a rather big event. Let’s just say that our little man Nuller is less of a man now. THEY TOOK HIS BALLS. Sorry. Aw. Now I wish I’d been there so I could help him get through that. But he didn’t seem to hold a grudge. In fact, I didn’t even realise anything had happened. Until I talked to Ophelia later in the day and she told me. It’s kinda my failt actually. Last week I noticed he was starting to take an interest in the ladies. An interest other than mama’s milk bar. So I talked to Alice about it, asked what the plan was. And she seemed very surprised by it, like they hadn’t even thought about it. So it was a good thing I brought it up and it’s a good thing they acted fairly quickly on it. Hopefully there are no surprise babies ahead. He was starting to show an interest, but it didn’t look like he was ready to produce anything. I know they can start early, though. But let’s hope we got ’em in time!
so today I asked Ophelia today if there was any plans about it and she told me it had been done yesterday and she was glad I asked because that meant he must have recovered fine. And he had. I didn’t realise anything was different. He was his happy self, no trauma there.
It was nice talking to Ophelia again too. She showed me what food to give the newbies. I don’t know why the guy who feeds Mia, Milo and Sky can’t also let the newbies out. I mean, he must have a key. Why can’t he go in the goat pen and do it for the newbies in the goat house too? I don’t know. But apparently he can’t. So now I can feed them in the morning when I let them out so they don’t have to wait for any of the staff to show up and do it. That’s good. She also said that they were planning to do a hoof trimming soon, which is good because I know they haven’t always been on top of that. Good thing my nagging pays off. And I like talking to Ophelia. She’s really nice and cares about the animals and seems to appreciate that I do too.
Shut up.
And a good day all in all. Sunny, but with a cold wind. The forecast for the next few days looks promising, though. Almost like spring. Took the goaties out on the green for a while. Then played in the pen. Then relaxed in the sun. Had a good long time with Mia on the bench. I love when she comes and sits with me. It makes me feel accepted as part of the herd. I guess it’s like when a cool kid comes and sits at your table at lunch. I imagine.
She was lying with her head against me, chewing her cud. Then she stopped chewing and started snoring slightly. I think she may have dozed off. And periodically she’d jerk her head swiftly, like she was dreaming. Dreamers of the world unite.

Had a good exercise today. One of the warmest days of the year so far. I love it. My heat turned to max, two space heaters going, snow pants on, plastic bag as a coat. And the sun blasting from the outside. It’s feeling good. I’ve gotten back to the level where I can go for a couple of hours on the bike now. As the weather gets warmer and hte legs get stronger it’ll be even better.
And I also finally did a little new work on my Cleansing Ritual, as I’m calling it now until I forget. I still want to get rid of like 75% of my physical belongs. I just want to get rid of it, like the fat on my body. Out out out. And I’d like to point out that I started this before anyone had ever heard of Maria Kondo. It’s just been like 6 months since I did any work on it, or more, since my mental state has been so bad. So today was basically… getting rid of some of the extra junk that piled on in that time. Haha. Hopefully I can keep going now so I can get rid of more of the stuff I have laying around. There’s a lot of stuff that I just don’t need or want and that it doesn’t make sense to keep with the change in my situation (ie, almost blind).
It’s a good feeling to shed the stuff that drags you down.

Good goat times today. A really lovely day. Light cloud cover, but not enough to keep the sun out. Probably hte warmest day of the year so far. If it wasn’t for a fairly cold wind then it would have felt like summer. When the wind died down or we were in shelter, it did feel like summer. At home i was debating whether to bring my winter coat. I’m glad I didn’t. Just a spring jacket and a long-sleeved blouse. And the jacket stayed off for most of the time. It’s not going to stay this warm, but it’s a nice preview of spring. Hope there will be much more of that soon.
The goats must have been feeling it too. They were quite frisky. Got a little runalong on the bleachers and a fun run home. Mia got quite worked up and was running back and forth. Always so much fun to see.
And then lots of relaxing in the pen. At one point Sky ducked into her little hideyhole to get out of the sun. She sat down there being her sweet self. I think sometimes she has a bit of a loner streak. When the other, bigger, goats get annoying sometimes she takes a break and goes off on her own for a little. I can relate, Sky. With humans I mean. Not with goats.
And it seems that dragging the bench up to the platforms was a great idea, because it’s Mia’s go-to place when she wants to just kick back and relax in the sun. Which is great because then I get to sit with her. So relaxing. Sat with Nuller in my lap next to her for a long time too. Lil sweetheart is doing just fine. Everyone is. Had some visitors, some even bringing goodies for the goats. And some of hte local girls came to ride on the horses. I haven’t seen that happen in a long time. I’m not sure if it was because of the great weather or if it was just happenstance, but it’s nice when there are people around. Activity and fun for the animals too.
And then walking home with the jacket slung over my shoulder, enjoying the sun and a good Star Wars audiobook. Not too shabby.

I know no one asked, but here is my theory/fanfic about Star Wars Episode 9.
I am still holding hope for Rey being a Skywalker. I know, I know. But hear me out. Let’s say that the Force Ghosts Of Christmas Past, Present and Future foresaw that Luke would, obviously, put Rey in his academy and train her with the other students. And then they foresaw Ben’s fall and that he would murder/turn all the students in the academy. And then he would be all powerful ruler of the darkside and darkness would ever reign and dogs would have kittens and cats would have puppies and everything would be wrong. So in order to save the future (and the cheerleader) the force jerks intervene. They steal baby Rey. They probably replaced her with a dead body. Probably a kid that they killed themselves, because we know the Jedi are bloody child murderers. So they leave a dead infant in Rey’s crib and Luke believes his daughter is dead and with time he resigns himself to being childless. And don’t tell me he would know when he was face to face with Rey later. Vader was face to face with Luke and Leia and didn’t have a clue.
The force jerks take baby Rey and hand her off to some family of pirates or junkers or whatever. Tell them “Raise this kid as your own for however many years (how old was Rey when she was abandoned on Jakku? I forget). Anyway, raise her for this many years then abandon her. We’ll give you 100,000 credits now and if you complete this mission there will be a a cool million credits in a banking clan locker waiting for you”.
So, baby Rey is raised thinking she’s part of that family. Gets abandoned. Ben betrays Luke. Kills or turns all the students, which does not include Rey because the Force Jerks have intervened with the timestream. And then in Episode 9 there will of course be some confrontation between Ben and Rey and because Rey wasn’t killed or turned at the academy she can stand up to him and defeat him and cats have kittens and dogs have puppies and it’s all good. I kinda hope they won’t kill off Ben. Three movies with these people isn’t enough. Have him defeated but alive. I read one leak (which required spoiler space, even though there’s no reason to believe it’s necessarily true)

…. that Ben was defeated and exiled on Tatooine. I like that. Having Ben be a hermit in the desert. Like OG Ben. And I love Tatooine. And you could give him time there to learn his lesson and realise his folly and maybe he’ll take up studying ancient Jedi lore and in time he’ll help revive the Jedi order or something. Then some time much later, in the next trilogy, you could have the son of Leia and the daughter of Luke heading the reborn Jedi Order, I rest my case and send me a check, JJ.
Oh and the First Order does not get destroyed. It gets defeated somewhat, of course. But we let it stay alive to be the background enemy of further storytelling. Three movies just isn’t enough. I know there will be books and cartoons and comics and all that. But we can have more movies with The First Order and Ben and Rey and all the rest. It’s fine. Without the leadership of Snoke and Kylo Ren the First Order can be a purely militaristic force. It can be the background evil, like the Empire is in most of the Original Trilogy storytelling. Obviously the Resistance will find their allies in Ep9 and you can have the Republic rebuilt and the next trilogy can have the Republic vs The First Order as the background conflict while Ben and Rey rebuild the Order and deal with .. I don’t know, Snoke’s race or someone else from the Outer Rims.
But the key is that Rey is Luke’s daughter the end.
Who is her mother? Maybe Mara Jade, maybe someone we don’t know. Luke and her probably drifed apart due to the sorrow of losing their baby. Or she got killed by Ewoks and eaten at one of their human barbecues.

I ended up going to bed yesterday, in the middle of the day. Tired of the world. Slept a great long time. And had series of wonderful dreams. My favourite was one that was like an American tv show, I was a black teen in school (which is funny because I’m the whitest white that ever whited) and there was a lot of drama and I got expelled and it really was like a tv show. Sometimes my dreams are like that. There was another dream where I was communicating with goats by sign language, but it was streamed to twitter. I think.
And there was so much more. I love my dream.s The dreamworld is so beautiful, clear and real. The real world is a drag and Dean Cain is an ass. Why would I want to be here?

Good goat times today. Had a ritual blood letting at the doctor’s first. To appease the Old Ones. Then onto the goats, whomst are much less satanic than some humans I know. But I digress. Took them all out of the pen for some grazing. Longer than I have before. Everyone behaved nicely. Had some fun running around. At one point there came a singsong voice from the kindergarten fence. “Oh nice man, can you get the goats to come over here?”. The kindergarteners wanted a closer look. So I brought the goats over to the fence and much rejoicing was had. Although the goats were a little disappointed that they had been to invited to a party that didn’t include hors d’oeuvres, or indeed any food at all. Terrible hosts, I tell you. Back to the grass instead. Not that the grass is much good yet either. But it’s something to do. And then we hung out in the pen, with silly goating around and uncle’s fresh fruit delivery service. Now we’re talking. Bleat bleat.

It’s interesting how people shape reality in their heads. Like, people who think they live in a democracy but also think that their vote should matter more or less depending on their geographical location. I don’t get how that can be reconciled in your head. Yet it is for about half of Americans. Go figure.
I know it sucks for people in rural areas, but yes. A more densely populated area should get more votes. Because there are more people in it. And one person should be one vote. Hence lots of people should mean lots of votes. That may suck if you live in a place with few people. But the other way around… is not democracy.
Of course it’s not surprising that the people who most often win without getting most votes wouldn’t want it to be changed. I just feel like then you should make sure to be upfront and say it when talking about it. Say “we can’t win in a democracy so we prefer to not have a democracy”.
Convince me otherwise, I dare you.

Today will be a good day. Here’s Popcorn and Peanut from 2015.

Good goat times today. Pleasant temperatures upwards of 10C/50F. Didn’t wear my sweater today. Did wear a blouse and a t-shirt under a heavy winter coat. But then I kept the coat open most of the day, and it was too hot walking home. So maybe it won’t be long before I can drop the winter coat. That’d be a treat.
Let the goats out for some fun. We went the furthest yet. All the way up to the bleachers. Remember those? Nobody got on them, though. Mia got up on the bench next to them. The newbies didn’t get up on the elevated part. But it was nice walking up the grass, along the kindergarten fence. With kids cheering us on. And then a fun run back to base camp.
Good times at the pen also. Several visitors at the fence. They always get happy when I pick up Nuller and go over to them so they can pet him. Big hit at parties.
I can tell things are more complicated now, with 6 goats. As soon as I give one a treat I have a circle of beggars around me. Yeah, I can tell the treat budget is increasing. I may have to start a fundraiser. (Just kidding, I’d just end up spending it all on pizza. I’m a crook!). I don’t mind spending the money. Although I may need an extra pair of pants to have pockets to carry all the treats.
It can be complicated to make sure everyone gets attention too. They all get along okay, with the stipulation that they don’t mix much. If the newbies approach then Milo and Sky still run away. Unless it’s just Lily, then maybe they’ll stand their ground. I want them to butt heads instead of run away. That’s how you get to know each other and settle the hierarchy. But i can be hard to make sure everyone gets their share. Got a couple of boys who want to jump on my back, a couple of gals who want smooches, and a couple of gals who think they should be in charge of everything. Yeah, whoever said it was easy to hang out with goats!?
With the extra faces and all the fun, it’s taking more time to edit photos and film as well. I may have to hire an assistant. Submit your application in bleating, please.
I’m not really complaining of course. It’s my happy place and I’m thankful I have it. Goat only knows where I’d be without them.

I forgot how wonderful this was. Even more funny when you remember him running around with his half-brother Peanut, who was soo well-coordinated. Peanut rarely took a wrong step, while Popcorn just tumbled around like he was in a bouncy castle. Goat, I loved those kids. I miss all my kids.

It was nice seeing grandma in my dreams. It was a pretty funny dream. She was in the goat house, and she was cold so she wanted me to put a log on fire for her. Not on THE fire, but on fire. She wanted me to light a log on fire so she could lie on it. Which caused a lot of problems because I kept accidentally setting the (wooden) house and all the straw on fire. Apparently the house and straw being on fire was dangerous, but a burning log was fine to sit on? Okay, grandma!
Yesterday when I was with the goats, the handicap badge fell of my jacket. When I went to put it back on, I realised that the place I put it on my sleeve is the place that was torn when I was hunting grandma in the thick branches last year. Remember that? My mother sewed it together. Maybe it was seeing that and the memories that sent out a beacon that got grandma to drop by in the dream.

How about you get rid of the Electoral College. Wait, hear me out. And then rural America, in order to not get fucked over you import a shit-ton of refugees and immigrants. That way you get as many votes as the densely populated states. Plus you get the joyous feeling of helping out people in need. If you’re a so-called Christian, shouldn’t that be a goal in itself? Instead of throwing refugee children in cages, give them some farmland. Make the world a better place and get to experience that thing called democracy. Then you just need to fix the gun problem and do something about health care and you will also be able to annoy your friends by smugly mentioning that you live in one of the happiest countries in the world. Wanted to say something about the second Parkland survivor killing themself. But what can you say that you haven’t said before? You don’t want gun control. You say it’s a mental health issue but you still leave the kids to kill themselves. You see an immigrant kill someone and you want to build walls, but you still let the white terrorists keep shooting up yuor country. And your leader insinuates that the military, police and bikers will get violent if he doesn’t get his way. You let the people who profit from guns write your legislation. You let the guy with the fewest votes run your country. You don’t give a shit about human life, once it’s born. You don’t give a shit about animal life, I mean you say you do but you still elect leaders that worship the corporations while the environment suffers. And it’s going to be another 6 years of Trump, because republicans don’t care that he’s openly racist, misogynistic, lying his ass of. Fine with being allied with Russia and North Korea. And he doesn’t need the most votes to win, so how canhe fail. Keep all the coloured people from voting, even though the actual exposed real voter fraud is by a Republican. And the Jerry mandering, what’s the deal with airplane food? and so on and so on and so on and so on and so on.
