Good goat times today. A lovely, hot summer’s day. Good grazing with the goats. And mingling with little visitors. Trying to keep the goats from eating the decorative greens. Trying to keep the goats from stealing treats from my pockets. Trying to get Milo to behave with the visiting kids. He’s the only one who doesn’t always play well with kids. If you’ve read Esther the wonderpig’s books, I remember in one of them they described that ones of their goats (I forget who it was) had the odd habit of trying to attack short people. And kids. I guess that’s just a thing that some goats have.. because Milo sort of has it. I don’t know if he has it with short people, though. He’s perfectly fine with adults. But if kids want to pet him there’s about 1/4 chance that he’ll push them away. He doesn’t attack or chase them or anything. But he’ll swing his head at them and push them away. And if you’re a little kid that is basically the same height as Milo, that can be pretty scary. And you might fall over too. So when we’re mingling with kids I always try to keep an eye on Milo and stay ready to step in if needed. I don’t want the kids to have bad experiences with the goats. And they very rarely do. It’s funny, everyone is usually more worried about Mia because she’s the big one. But she’s great with kids now. When she was younger she had a bit of that kid-phobia. And we’ve had other goats that were like that too at the old playground too. I wonder what it is? Is it because the kids are goatsized so he sees them as rivals? He’s sweet and cuddly, if adults wants to pet him it’s perfectly, and he loves it when it’s me especially. Weird. Anyway, as I was saying Mia had some of that too when she was younger. Now she’s mellowed so she’s more like grandma. Grandma was the ultimate petting goat. Would stand still for ages and literally let kids poke her in the eye and nose and just stood there and enjoyed the attention. And again, funny because she was so huge that people were often intimidated if they didn’t know her.
Anyway. That was a tangent and a half. Good grazing, good relazing in the pen. I should have brought some cold drinks for myself, I was tempted to join in the water bucket conversation with the goats.

Hiii! Happy #TongueOutTuesday from Nuller. He’s gotten very bleaty in the morning. When i’m unlocking the padlock on their gate he’ll bleat more than any of the others. He’s gotten quite big, but he’s still a fun little guy.

Rest in peace Max Wright. Mr Tanner. I know ALF was not everyone’s thing, but it came around at the right time for me. I loved it as a kid. I remember being delighted when Wright turned up on Friends for a couple of episodes.

Good goat times today. A lovely, hot day. There’s a heatwave in Europe right now. It’s not as bad in Denmark as in other places. But definitely a hot day. Glad I brought an iced bottle of drinks. And the goats were glad I brought them buckets of water.
We went over to the kindergarten fence, and this time Nelly (whomst we often meet) was on our side of the fence with one of the kids. She had a lot of fun getting greens for the goats. She’d push down a branch and then all the goats would jump up and lean on her to reach. Mia almost pushed her over a time or two. Much laughter. Both Nelly and the kid layed down on their backs in the grass and had goats buzzing around them too.
A little later we walked out to the greens in other parts of the grounds, and again we met Nelly. This time with more kids. The kids were excited to meet the goats. They asked me if it was okay that they helped me “protect the goats”. So they kinda became deputy goat herders. Which mostly just consisted of them walking around and petting the goats and telling them not to run away. And hysterical laughter when goet berries started falling out the rear of a certain fluffy backside. A little girl gave me some kind of paper cutout. Said it was a prize for the goats. So it’s official, we have prize winning goats! It was very sweet all. There were a few close encounterso of the Milo kind, but the kids thought it was more fun than scary and they still wanted to feed him.
A lovely, hot day in the greens with kids and goats. Pretty, pretty good. Tough walk home, though. Even with the cold bottle. Did I buy iced creams, you ask? Well I didn’t not buy iced creams.

Phew. Good exercise in the sun. According to the forecast, tomorrow is the last day of the heatwave in Denmark. Temperatures will literally be cut in half and it’ll be below 20/70 for a while. Bummer. Have to take advantage of the heat while it’s here. I love a good hard workout in the heat.

Nuller and I are going to shut the week down now. It’s one of the hottest days of the year so far. Last day of the heatwave. Too hot to facebox. I’m going to go sit in the shower for an hour. They better have my rubber duckies ready.
Hope everyone out there is A+ doing well, #winning. I am getting worse at keeping up with things, but it’s just that the eternal gravity of black holes is trying to drag me out into the atmosphere. Thank goodness for these heavy led shoes and the string I tied around my finger to remember not to miss the ground when I fall. Anyway. See you beyond the veil. Keep the nightlight on and listen for me tapping on your window.

Good goat times today. A lovely, hot day. it would have been uncomfortably humid, but there was fresh wind that kept it fresh. Lovely summer’s day.
Took the goats out for our usual tour. Over to the kindergarten fence to entertain and clear some brush. And then a walk around the ground to get as much green as possible. Plenty of visitors with little kids getting to pet the little goats. Everyone had fun. Although I did have to run interference to save a picnic table full of food that the visitors wre not planning on sharing with the goats, contrary to what the goats assumed. But I think everryone survived. Milo and Sky took a little trip into the horse pen. They can still squeeze through a gap in the fence by the far gate. For a second I thought they were too chubby to squeeze back out again. Apparently it’s easier to get in that get out. Why am I getting mental images of Pooh stuck in a door after eating too much honey? They did get out, after I’d waved traved around for a while to motivate them.
I kinda miss how it was when we first moved here. When the goats could freely walk back and forth between the goat and horse pen. It was nice having so much space and freedom. But then, right now there is almost literally zero grass in the horse pen. A combination of last year’s scorching summer and the horses’ ability to just tear that stuff up. But so it goats.

Had more annoying troubles with the new computer setup. Just as I thought everything was working, I noticed the audio is out of sync on my edited goat videos. So there went another few hours off troubleshooting and experimenting, messing with codecs and directshow filters and prefered decoders and, well you know. Right? OR SHOULD I KEEP TALKING ABOUT IT IN GREAT DETAIL. Okay, put down the shotgun. I’ll shut up.
In fact, I’ll sign off for today. I think I got the problem solved now (famous last swords). But we’ll see. I can’t computer anymore. Gonna go do some shopping and relaxing and then to bed early to dream the sores out of my eyes. See you on the other side.

Today did not go as planned. Depression got to me, hammer to the head, boulder on my back. I felt it coming. I was supposed to go see the goats, but I just felt the despair drag me down. Sometimes you know you’re doing the wrong thing, but you do it anyway. I went to bed and slept the day away. I need to get into a routine of goats, exercise and dreams. Hopefully my computer issues are fairly settled now and I can focus on what makes me feel better. I hope.
Meanwhile, my parents are back from vacation in Lithuania. Sounds like it was very hot there. Hotter than here. So anyway. I’m going to pizza and get through the weekend.

Fun fact, I used to be s cared of the Sherlock Holmes story The Hound of the Baskervilles. Maybe it was because I was scared of dogs?
Other fun fact, as a kid I was terrified of the gorilla in the Tintin story about an island, or something like that. You know what I mean? It was an island and there was a monster on it, but it turned out to be a gorilla. I would borrow the audio tape adaptaion of it at the lbirary, but every time I got to the growling gorilla I got so scared that I had to turn it off. Don’t ask me why I kept borrowing the tape when I knew it was too scary.
Remember tapes? Wow those were things. You could put them in a cassette deck and you could rewing and fastforward them and listen to them, almost like a VHS tape only with audio. Crazy, huh? You kids with your MP3 players probably aren’t even scared of fictional gorillas.
