Red Robin, Carlton Cuse

That was a good little sleep. 16 hours in bed. More or less.

I could get used to that. 16 hours in bed and 8 hours up. That’s how the world should work. For me, at least. If the wole world worked like that then maybe society would collapse. Or something bad might happen.

Anyway, I was feeling tired. Tired of not sleeping at night. Tired of eyes not working, of feet hurting. Of running around to doctors and washing machines and whatever else. So I ended up in bed around 2pm yesterday. And got up at 7 am this morning. That’s 17 hours, isn’t it? Sometihng like that. I didn’t sleep the whole time, but most of it. And the rest I tossed and turned a bit. But in a nice, sleepy relaxed way. With no feet hurting. Drifting in and out of interesting dreams. Why can’t I sleep like that at night?

Oh well. Maybe I should just completely rearrange my sleeping schedule. Sleep during the day and be up during the night. I prefer being up at night anyway. The only reason I really want to get up early in the morning is so I can do shopping or other things before the shops get too crowded. Maybe I’ll abandon that idea and do all my shopping online instead. That way I never have to leave the house! My mind never stops being productive like this, I swear. I’m a genius.

I had to get up early today to go feed the animals, though. It was nice. The lambs were as adorable as always. It’s always a little nerve wracking to go see them. You have to wonder, will they have stopped being adorable by now? But luckily somehow they always manage to remain damn adorable. At least so far. I have high hopes for the adorability endurance.

No Vanilje babies yet. But she’s looking mighty big. Can’t be long. Can’t be long.

Spent some nice time with Nina too. She was in a cuddly mood. Normally when I pick her up and go sit on the couch with her it doesn’t take too long before she gets up out of my arms and starts walking around or rolling around next to me on the couch. But today she staid put in my embrace for quite a while. And then she went and rolled around too. It’s fun to watch. She stretches so good. Arms and legs stretched out far. Like me in bed after a 17 hour sleep.

What else is new? I got my Don Rosa book. The christmas present. The Hall Of Fame series is reprinting his entire body of work. And with volume 7 we have reached the time when I actually stopped reading the Danish Donald Duck magazine. So these stories are new to me. Schweet stuff. Would be schweeter if I could actually see properly of course. It’s not much fun reading comic books with the book 2 cm from your face. Not fun reading any book like that in fact. I am currently reading Drown by Junot Diaz, and it’s very good. But it’s taking me a long time too. I can’t get through more than a few pages before I get frustrated and annoyed and tired and I have to quit. Appreciate your eyesight while you have it, folks.

Did manage to see the TV. Final episode of Stargate Atlantis. It’s always a little sad when a long-running show ends. At least if it’s one you have liked. Five years of SGA. And before that it was some 10 years of Stargate SG1, I think. More than a decade of following Stargate. There’s a new Stargate series coming later. Stargate Universe, I think it’s called. But for now it feels so final. When you’re someone like me with not much of a real life, not being close to many real persons, you get close to long-running shows like that. It’s sad to say goodbye.

What, me get a life?

Also finished the Lost season 4 DVDs. Watching the commentary for the finale. Can’t wait for the new season. Oh boy oh boy. Also watched the commentary for The Constant episode a couple of days ago. One of my favourites. Don’t you just love Penny/Desmond? They must be my favourite couple around. Starcrossed. Their phone scene is one of my favourites of all time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhPTIFamjQA. Aw don’t it make you cry? Well, maybe you have to have followed the series to really appreciate it. For example the long hair / short hair Desmond might confuse you if you don’t know about the whole time travelling bit… but just enjoy the music then! It makes me cry. Because I am a wuss. And I have no real emotion of my own.

Here’s a nice fanvid of their history: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWA97q2AP9g. And it has Avril Lavigne music, so you know it’s good.

And look they did get reunited in the finale.

You gotta love Micheal Giacchino’s music for lost. Check out the life and death theme. Beautiful.

Man, once I start surfing youtube I just get lost. It’s such a great place to find little things that you may have forgotten about. Like Key West. I saw Fisher Stevens on Lost and half-remembered him in Key West and looked it up on youtube and there it was. Imagine being a kid today, when you grow up ALL your memories are going to be on youtube, not just the lucky few. Well, assuming the copyright police don’t kill ’em off.

That’s enough for now. Almost time to head to bed. I have been invited to dinner tomorrow with my parents and uncle Jens who is visiting. I might not go though. There’s too much going on. Foot therapist, laundry debacle, feeding animals, eye treatment, regular doc. I need a day to stay in and awake and do nothing. I will see Jens on Monday anyway, he’ll come visit with my dad as well. They’ll use his car to ferry sugarfree soda for me. And ferry sugarful soda the other way. So I might skip the dinner. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow.

Toodles.

You need a magnifying glass to read books. They sell all different sizes of them at the stores.

I hope Uncle Jens is doing well with his health. I think you said last time you knew, he was doing okay.

Goat story: We had taken everyone for walkies this afternoon. It was cold and windy, so we didn’t stay out too long. The barn was much warmer and no wind, so we all headed back there.

Snickers and the goatzies were all eating hay and drinking water. John Boy came over to the mineral block (it’s purple and berry-flavored) and started licking/chewing it. I was sitting next to the block, so I pretended to be chewing/licking it too!

John Boy stopped licking the mineral block and just looked at me. Then he got closer like he wanted to smell my breath! Guess he thought I was really enjoying that mineral block. He was very nice about it and was going to share with me.

When the goatzies have been at the block for awhile, their little tongues are purple colored!

I had been eating fruit-flavored Lifesavers earlier in the day and my husband asked me why my tongue was purple? I told him I’d been at the “billy block” (mineral block)! hee, hee

Debster – I am getting a magnifying glass. For christmas. It’s on hold. Hopefully it won’t be too long before I get it. It’s a fancy one that you can strap to your head and it has lights. Will be nice.
As far as I know Jens is still doing well, so that’s good. I should get to see him tomorrow.
That was a swell goat story haha. Mads used to go at the mineral block quite a bit, I always liked watching it. Sometimes I’d sort of draw his attention towards it in the hopes that he’d want to have a lick. Sigh.
