Shipwrecked And Comatose

Today I had fish with my mother. Nice fish. I hope my eyes appreciate all the fish and carrots and mineral water. I hope.
A beautiful day as well. Sunny and warm. I am tempted to call it summer, I am. And what a strange pain it is to walk around in such a beautiful day and not be able to see it properly. The prettier the day, the less I see. Oh well.
A lovely day indeed. Can you tell what is wrong with that picture, though?
The trees. There are so few of them. Most of the trees have been cut down there. It has always been one of my favourite spots. The road bending, lined with trees. I have taken several pictures there over the years. Here’s a couple:
My dad told me about this a few days ago. He said it opened up the area. I guess that’s true. Let the sun in.
But I’m going to miss the trees.

There was an area by the highway we always travelled that had lots of trees grown up in it. It was in an area that floods when the river gets high and they were just volunteer trees. I guess they were getting too near the power lines, so they chopped them all off. I was almost physically ill looking at how awful it looked.
That has been a number of years ago and the trees are growing up again just like nothing happened. I consider myself lucky to have seen them all those years ago and then to see how they have re-grown. I especially like weeping willow trees in the springtime.

Debster – Trees never forget. Or is that elephants? Well, same difference. Sometimes you can’t see the forest for the elephants.
