Shop Till You Drop

(google cache)

Today I went and did some shopping. On my own.

I think it is the first time I have been outside on my own since all the surgeries. It qwent okay mostly. At least I survived it. It hlped that it was overcast. No sun to ruin my eyesight. It’s always a little tricky, though. Because the sun ruins my eyesight but at the same time I need light, lots of light. So it’s hard to get just right. But it was okay today. I found my way to the shopping center around the corner. I sort of bumped into a kid and a shopping kart. But not in a major way. I managed to read the sign that ssays how many tomatoes are on sale for a certain price. And I managed to identify the correct milk I usually get. I didn’t actually need milk or tomatoes today, but I just wanted to see if I could do it. And I could. So that’s okay. I went early in the morning so there weren’t a lot people. It might have been hard if there had been a long queue at the register. But that went okay too. So all in all I managed okay, but it was very uncomfortable. Not enjoyable. I don’t think I will be doing a lot of shopping on my own. Maybe when I get my glasses. Hopefully that will make it easier. For now I will probably let my dad do most of my shopping. But it’s nice to know I’m not completely helpless. Even if I decide to take the help.

One of these days I will probably try to see if I can go to the playground on my own. I’m not sure I’d be able to. It would probably be uncomfortable too. But the goats would make it worthwhile of course. But we’ll see how that goes.

Today I also made warm dinner. For the first time in a while. Well, it was just omelette. And by omelette I mean.. scrambled omelette. Is that a thing? It turned out okay. I think I got cooking oil on the kitchen table though. It’s really hard to cook stuff now. I usually stick to cold stuff on bread. On Wednesday I’ll be having dinner with the parents, so then I’ll get some proper food again. That’s also the day for the hospital checkup and hopefully a goat visit.

And other than that, it’s just a matter of passing time.
