Guess what I got today?
I’ll give you a hint: my CCTV.
Yes, a nice man came around and set it up for me. We ran through the functions quickly, refreshing my memory on how to use it. It’s not very complicated really. You can zoom in and out. And you can cycle through three view settings. Normal colour. Black and white. White and black. And that’s about it. There are a couple of other functions, but I’m not really going to be using those. It’s mainly the white and black view function I need. So now I am ready to play. I haven’t really used it seriously yet, but I’m sure it will come in very handy indeed.
Here is a little video of it in action: youtube.com/watch?v=zG9tIpKOtX8. With my Ultima book, that I am looking forward to hopefully being able to read now.
I am quite happy about this.

Wow! That’s pretty cool. How high of magnification do you need to use? Are you able to read several lines at a time?
I like the piano music you used in the video. What was it?

Debster – It’s nifty. I don’t actually need to use that much zoom. Mostly I need the inverse black/white. With that turned on I barely need to zoom at all. And with my Ultima book I can fit a page width on the screen. So I don’t have to scroll from side to side when reading. That’s very handy. Compared to my electronic magnifier where I could have just 2-3-4 words on the screen at a time and I had to move it left and right along the text lines. Impossible to read a book like that. but with the his new toy it’s a lot easier.
Glad you like the music! It’s a song called Stones from the Ultima games. There are several different versions of it, I think this is a fanmade piano version. I love that tune, brings back lots of memories.

That’s great you can fit a page-width on the screen. Glad you will be able to read your Ultima book now.
I’d go nuts if I couldn’t read any longer. I’m up to 84 books so far this year that I’ve read. I’m trying for 10 books a month or 120 books read by the end of 2010. I didn’t quite make it last year. Maybe only 9 books a month.

Debster – Aw you are lucky. I wish I could still read real books. It’s just better. I can’t go through as many audibooks as I could real books. Not as fast. But at least I am not cut off from books, and now I can even read normal ones a little again.
It’s not very comfy though. It hurts my back when I sit at the CCTV. Can’t do that for hours and hours. Stresses the eyes too. But it’s cool to have, it’s a help already.
