See You At The X-roads

I have been enjoying the soup for a few days. Dad came over yesterday with another portion. There should be enough for tomorrow too. Six days of soup, even better than twelve days of christmas.

On Tuesday I went and got my feet did. Foot therapy is always nice and relaxing. Talked a little with the therapist about my improved eyesight. We were joking around about how now he couldn’t slack off anymore, he’d have to give me the GOOD treatment. Amusing.

Afterwards I went to see the goats. Walked up through the park. By the stream, where I used to play as a kid. When I was little the stream seemed like a mighty flowing river. I remember being a little scared of falling in. I don’t think I went too close to the edge. Nowadays it seems like a little trickle that could barely make your feet wet. Perspectives change.

I tried out my thermal underwear. Did I mention that I bought thermal underwear? It’s practically a whole body suit. It kept me nice and warm, but the weather was a bit milder than usual too, so that might be why. I’ll have to try it out when it’s really freezing again. I think we’ve had more snow, so maybe I’ll get the chance soon.

I almost lost my cap on the trip. The lovely cap that Deb sent me. I had a little hat underneath the cap, to keep my ears warm. And while I was sitting with the goats I suddenly noticed that the cap was gone. Because of the hat I hadn’t felt the cap disappear. When I left the goats I got ready to backtrack down through the park to see if I could find it. But then I got the impulse to go back to the goat pen and check. And I did. And there it was. I had forgotten that when I got to the goats I had gone and grabbed some hay for them. That’s where the cap had fallen off, when I bent down to pick up the hay. I had only checked at the bench before I left the first time. Good thing I went back for a second check, otherwise I would have spent a long, cold time in the park looking in vain. I do love my two caps that Deb has sent me. Ever since I got them I don’t think I have gone outside without wearing one of them. And in the winter I’ll usually be wearing the woolly socks and now the glovely mittens that she sent me too. She is my own personal fashion guru.

A video of the goats: youtube.com/watch?v=lKv-7KMoC80. Nothing exciting, just the usual sort of stuff. And a little look at the stream in the park too. I love that I’m getting to see Grethe grow up. And that my eyesight is a little better so I can actually see it. They’re both quite woolly for the winter now. I wonder who their fashion guru is?!

So glad the heart got to you undamaged! And sorry it’s taken me so long to get a thank you letter sent! In the end, two pressies actually turned up! How wierd! But Raven loves them both (the doll family and the playground) and Arthur absolutely adores his Thomas Sleeping bag. Like, proper loves! And he’s started sleeping through since starting børnehave, so it’s a whole new world of unbroken sleep for mummy and daddy, too! *W00T-W00T* ;)

Speaking of *W00T-W00T* here’s the fabulous Thomas the Tank Engine cake I made him for his birthday party we had on Thursday at børnehave: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q280/Vicunja/ThomasCake026.jpg

And yes, I made it from scratch! Can you tell I’m mightily proud??? I know it’s very un-Danish, but there you have it! Maybe I’ve been polluted by my years abroad or my work with all those foreigners. ;)

Raven wants a Hello Kitty cake for her birthday, but I’d really rather make one of these: http://www.icingandthecake.co.uk/images/cake-chil-birth/princess-cake.jpg

I’ll let you know what we decide! ;)

Such loverly goatzies. I would put striped leg-warmers on them with a lengthy blue scarf with fringe on the ends to wrap around their long necks. And maybe sunglasses. The goats on TV look good in sunglasses.

Such a pretty creek. Looks like that one big rock would be perfect to rest on in the summertime while daydreaming.

I see all your snow has melted. We still have snow. About 5 or 6 inches of it and it’s cold. I think we are to get more snow on Monday. Joy . . . sigh. The bird feeder has been busy as a result. I had 8 Blue Jays the other day. They are a riot to watch.

When you had gone and grabbed some hay for the goats, THATS where the cap had fallen off! … Are you sure your lastname is not Mr. Holmes? lol

While watching the video *tap* *tap* can we get to see the stream soon? Oh there it is. What is that nasty black pipe, is that some wastewater going out there?

  4. Plume Says:

Debster – Maybe I’ll see if Magnethe wants to wear my filter glasses. Although I’m concerned she’d rather want to eat them. Eat/wear, what’s the difference. Says the goat.
Let’s agree to not have more now until next winter. Deal?

Ann T Krist – Hmm I’m not sure what you’re referencing there. Sherlock Holmes? I don’t get it I’m afraid.
I think the pipe is probably drainage from the park. So, just rainwater most likely. Not entirely sure though.
