Two Lions, Two Tigers
Nothing new, really. But a little video from Tuesday. My first meeting with the new snowy white goat. youtube.com/watch?v=ybM_joqcqSQ. You can see Magnethe pushing her around. She even gets a little cross with me when I paid too much attention to the newcomer. Bodil comes by too.
Other than that I’m doing fairly okay. Which makes me feel a little guilty. I want to be more heartbroken. I feel sad about Grethe, and bad about what happened to her. But I just can’t deny that I’m not as close to the playground as I once were. The last 2-3 years have been more about dealing with my own situation. I feel somewhat removed from them now. And that makes me feel bad. I didn’t know Grethe as well as I wanted to. And now I won’t have the chance to change that. I miss the good old (goat) days. I feel like a negligent parent or something. But now that the eyesight ordeal is fairly settled, maybe I can get back to more goat herding. When summer comes. And other factors permitting. I hope so.

She’s a very pretty goatzie. And she seems friendly. Maybe Bodil could get Magnethe interested in a goat treat – like a Christmas tree! Then you could get the new goat to come over to see you for scratches.
I wonder how long it would take Magnethe to eat a whole pine tree? hee, hee Long enough for you to make friends with the new goat, I hope.
Magnethe looks rather plump in her sides. Guess maybe she is wearing maternity clothes now.
You have snow on the ground. All our snow has melted, except for bits in the ditches. My husband and I went out in the woods today to look for sheds. The deer lose their antlers every year and people like to hunt for the “shed deer antlers.”
We didn’t find any, but it was nice to be outside. We saw deer tracks, turkey feathers, all kinds of song birds, and even some sunshine! It has been such a cloudy dreary winter, we get excited when the sun shines. hee, hee
We ought to sleep well tonight after tramping around in the woods part of the day. I will be dreaming about big deer antlers tonight.
Do you know what the difference between horns and antlers are? Antlers fall off or are shed each year, while horns stay on (like the goatzies).

I will always love fish, but it won’t be the same ever again (I think) when I used to blog every. single. post. about them and make puns about them. It will still happen occasionally. I think we go thru so many phases in our lives as a natural progression. So we keep finding things to love and be passionate about. It doesn’t lessen the meaning of the goat times of yore… it just means you have more room in your life and heart for other loves and experiences.

Your snow also made me think of how much I enjoy my electric tea kettle I got for Christmas. I like to make hot cider and my husband likes the hot cocoa mix. Do you drink coffee, tea, cocoa, or cider in the winter time?

(((((((hugs))))))))) being sad because you don’t feel sad enough isn’t very logical – but I do get what you mean! I hope you’ll get to know the new goat well – and fingers crossed for en deilig vår og en nydelig sommer, we deserve it after this long winter!

Debster – Very, very friendly. I’m going to get along well with her.
That’s a good plan, but I don’t know how many christmas trees are still around. I think Magnethe would enjoy having one to herself though. Nom nom nom.
No more snow here now. Not much at least. Hopefully we won’t be getting anymore. Brrrr. I’m ready for spring.
I did not know the difference between antlers and horns. Do they really grow new antlers every year? Sounds tiring. I can barely grow my hair without getting tired. Me, in bad shape?!
I don’t drink coffee. Sometimes, but very rarely tea. Pretty much only when I’m sick. Then I’ll drink some camomile tea. I drink cocoa, but usually just cold. And just the cheap powder mix stuff. Before all the eyesight business started I would once in a while pick up a bottle of apple cider. But I’m not sure it would qualify for real cider, and I’d only drink it cold.
That’s my drinking history!
Katt – That all makes sense yes Katt. Time grow, even children get older. But the thing is that I still do love goats a lot. And I would still like to spend more time with them. So it’s not that I have outgrown them. Just priorities that have changed and things that have gotten more difficult.
Katrine – I will try not to be sad. I already like the new goat a lot, I am sure we will have many good times together. And I hope you’ll have a dejlig sommer too ! Lad solen skinne
