Twelve Elvises
It’s been an interesting week. I guess we’ll take it chronologically, more or less.
I’m not sure I mentioned it in the blog, but last Thursday while I was sitting with the goats Sigrid came out to take some pictures of them. She was taking them for a Facebook page the playground had made. And she asked me if I had a Facebook. And I mentioned Mia’s page. And I guess on Friday they sat down at the playground and looked at it. So on Monday I had really nice comments from Per, Sigrid and Bodil about it. And later on in the week Nina as well. They all seemed to really like the page. The pictures and the text and everything. They were very complimentary, which made me happy of course. It’s always nice when people you care about are enthusiastic about something you have made. By the way, the playground’s Facebook page is located here: facebook.com/pages/Legepladsen-Bispehaven. I’m not sure if you need a Facebook account to view public pages. Mia’s page is here of course: facebook.com/CutestGoatEver.
So that was really lovely. Everyone is a fan of Mia! “We didn’t realise we had a little celeb here!” Sigrid said.
My mood changed later on that Monday, though, when I discovered one of my Facebook friends was dead. She actually died back in October, but she didn’t update very often so I hadn’t realised something was wrong. Until I went to her page randomly and saw it full of messages from her friends and family. I don’t really want to go into the details here, but it left me very sad and shocked. Even though we weren’t close friends, it still felt like a punch in the gut. I have spent a lot of time thinking about her since Monday. Reading her old Livejournal. She was a really cool person and I’m sad I didn’t know her better and never told her how highly I regarded her.
It made me think about myself too. Kind of what happened when Magnethe passed away last year. Made me think about how important it is to be happy and enjoy life while you have it. I still spend too much time doing things that ultimately just make me unhappy. But I have lots of good things in my life and I will try to enjoy them more and let the worries slip away. I will try at least. I have been feeling better and better. Seeking out the happiness, which is good. It’s a strange life, sometimes. You never know what lies just around the corner.
One of the things that makes me most happy is the goats of course. Mia’s baby is doing well. He’s growing and getting stronger. And he has gotten a name too. Palle. Which makes me think of Lille Palle, Little Palle, a Danish singer. And Palle alene i verden. Palle alone in the world. An old Danish children’s book, I think. If I remember correctly. I like it! He is such a sweet and beautiful little guy.
Medium and Large are still growing. Running around and causing trouble! I think they may end up being permanently called Medium and Large, Per indicated as much anyway. Since they had seen me use those names on Facebook. I had just picked those names as temporary names, but that would be neat if they ended up being named that. Except Medium is probably bigger than Large by now. He feels heavier when he jumps on my back!
But yeah. An odd week. From a high high to a low low to lots of mental stimulation. Two times 150 minute bike rides as well.
But let’s get on with the pictures.
Mia crashing the picnic! You can see more of that in the videos below.
Bob looking at the playground building. Maybe he wanted to go to the picnic too.
Bob’s tail. I just love that white tip
Grandmamma Mio browsing the grass.
Palle has had his first taste of raisins. That is usually quicly followed by the chewing of fingers in the pursuit of more.
And videos.
Goatlog from Monday and Wednesday. With little Palle running off on his own. Much to the frustration of Mia. Kids will be kids!

And goatlog from Thursday. More fun with Palle. Also Mia at the picnic table and Bodil & Sif.
And that’s all for this week. A new one awaits. May it bring good fortunes.

Mia’s Facebook page is really cute. She is so talented besides being so cute. It was nice of her to mention the playground’s Facebook page (even if it isn’t all about her)! hee, hee
The playground’s Facebook shows one of the horses getting their hooves trimmed. I need you to tell them to come to my house and help me trim Snickers’ hooves! Please, please, please. hee, hee
We’ll both be available anytime they can be here. They might want to wait until I get the “calming paste” in the mail – it does make hoof trimming go a bit easier (not much, but it does seem to help).
Goatzie Palle sure is growing fast and is so cute. Mia, the cutest goat in Denmark has the cutest baby goatzie in Denmark!

Terri – Thank you, Terri!
Debster – Mia is a special girl! Her page just passed 100 likes. That’s pretty cool. There are people who don’t even know me who like her page. My little star.
*I’ll see if we can put together an emergency hoof trimming expedition! I’m sure we can find volunteers!
