A Tale Of Two Bobs
Looks like the playground is back in business. Seems like it’s been back to normal this week at least. Fingers crossed. Sigrid is back from a month’s vacation. Nina was back. Hans was there. Bodil and Sif stopped by. Her friend Åse too. Almost like the good old days! It’s just really good to have the goats out and well taken care of. I noticed that Mia seems to be missing a tooth or two. On her lower front jaw. I told Sigrid about it so they could keep an eye on it. I wonder what happened. Were they knocked out somehow? Or fell out? I just hope it’s not a sign of some problem. But she seems fine enough. Although it makes it a littler harder for her to attack apples head on, since goats don’t have upper front teeth either. Good thing she has me to help her.
My mother is back from the hospital now. I found out when she called me while I was sitting with the goats. I had to go do a little tech support on the new computer. But I’m glad she’s back home. She’ll be off work for a month. Hopefully she’ll be back to normal, then.
I also got news about Medium and Large. They’re still doing well and having fun at their new place. Growing big! And they’ve gotten new names. I always thought Medium and Large would be temporary names, so I’m good with that. They’re now called Lucy and.. Bob! I’m not sure if Medium was named after our Bob, but it seems a fitting tribute. I’m just really glad we got them such a good home and that they’re thriving there.
I miss Bob, though. Palle is super sweet but he’s not much of a troublemaker. He has nudged heads a little tiny bit with Kamel but that’s about as rowdy as he gets. I love him, of course! But I wish I could have seen him grow up with Bob, I’m sure they could have caused trouble together.
I made a little tribute video for Bob. I’d been kinda waiting for inspiration to hit and the moment I heard this song I knew it had to be. Youtube messed up the synchronizity a little bit, but I’m still really happy with it. I love how it starts with me shaking hands with baby Bob. And ends with him at the exit sign. The circle of life.
I miss him, my lovely boy.
Onwards with some pictures.
The birds may have flown and our big rooster stolen, but there’s still fowl at the playground. Is this a hen? Or a chicken? Or rooster. Or… I don’t know. I like the punk rock hair, though.
He may not be much of a troublemaker but Palle is really good at photobombing. Sneaking into the background of pictures. Here he is trying to steal Kamel’s glory.
And a goatlog from the week. You can hear Kamel being hoarse at the beginning. I think she just so adorable like that. Her voice quickly got back to normal, though. There are also visiting kids petting the goats and goats jumping on my back and all that stuff.
And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the next one.

Thanks Terri! Yeah, I had to test out if people could see the video if I used the song. Thanks for being a “playtester”! Thanks for being a great friend!

Sweet, sweet Bob. Such a handsome guy and what a personality, plus that cute white tip on his tail. Such a nice tribute to him. I liked the song, too. Very fitting – such bittersweet memories we have of our dear goat friends.
I understand that really old goats lose their teeth, too. They wear down or break off teeth as they age. Not sure what to feed them in their “golden years”. Maybe warm mashed grain?

He was a wonderful boy. I love that white tip too. SEeing it dart back and forth when his tail wagged always made me happy. Miss him.
