Not Driven By Fear

This morning I had the most amazing dream.

A triple dream. Or was it quadruple? In the sense that inside the dream I woke up. And thought I was awake. But it was still the dream. So I woke up 2-3 times inside the dream. Funny.

The dream involved Michael Badalucco, Kira Eggers (not work safe) and Selina Enriquez. Amongst others. Also part of the dream was a re-dream. I had dreamt it before. But this time I knew what was going to happen so I saved the girl’s life. In the last part of the dream I thought to myself “this can’t be a dream, it feels too real”. And then it started raining. And the rain looked like the rain in Oblivion. So I knew it was still a dream.

I have said it before, the only nightmares I fear are the ones where I feel that I know I’m dreaming but I can’t wake up, I can’t escape the dream. But this was not a nightmare, it was a quite nice dream really. I knew that I was dreaming, but felt no need to escape.

Actually one of the things I really wonder about is whether I actually am aware that I’m dreaming or if I’m just dreaming that I’m aware that I’m dreaming. You know what I mean? You know the difference? Am I actually aware or is it just part of the fiction of the dream. Hmm. In any case I find it to be very fascinating. It’s like stepping into the dreamworld. Even if it’s a nightmare I still find it it very intriguing. I wish it was something I could explore further. I wish I could control it. Maybe I should do some research on lucid dreaming. Although I’m not sure that’s the same thing. I guess that’s what research is for.

In other news, I uploaded a poster. In case you want to see the sort of stuff I do at work. It wasn’t a big thing though. I already had the picture so I just had to slap some text on it. But there you go.

In more stupid news, I missed my therapist appointment. Because I am a bloody moron. Will reschedule. Will try not to damage my desk with the banging of my head.

Yesterday it rarined. Quite a lot. In fact it started raining just as the goats had been put inside and I was about to leave. I figured I’d wait a while and see if the rain would stop again. So I went in to Mads’s booth. Sat down on some fresh hay. He of course had to check my pocket to see if I had food for him. And then my bag. And then my pocket. And just to be absolutely sure my bag again. When he was reasonably reassured that there was no food for him he went back to munching on his hay. And I sat there and watched him. Listening to the sounds of him chewing and the rain falling on the roof. A beautiful moment.

And the rain did stop. So I left and did a little shopping in Favorit. And when I got out from there the rain started again. So I walked home in the rain. Did not mind. Although a jacket would have been handy. I almost never wear my jacket anymore. Even though it’s not superhotsummer. I have gotten used to it and it feels good.

Lucid dreaming is the conscious perception of one’s state while dreaming, resulting in a much clearer (“lucid”) experience and usually enabling direct control over the content of the dream. The complete experience from start to finish is called a lucid dream. Stephen LaBerge, a popular author and experimenter on the subject, has defined it as “dreaming while knowing that you are dreaming.”
