Everything Zen

In case some of you wondered what “scrunching up like a harmonica” meant, I would like to clarify it via the gift of google image search. This is a google search for the English vord harmonica. And this is a google search for the Danish word harmonika. Isn’t that funny? Almost identical words, yet completely different things. What I meant, as Debster’s well educated royal Russian goats have pointed out, is “scrunching up like an accordian”. Although come to think of it I’m not even sure that “scrunching” is a word, or at least the right word. But never mind! To round this whole bit off, the Danish word for harmonica is mundharpe. It’s a funny world.

I am enjoying the weekend. Weekends are much nicer when you are actually employed. That way they have meaning. When the days don’t just flow together.

Feeding the animals yesterday was a lot of fun. I love the lambs. I thought goats were good at munching hay, but the sheepies certainly don’t have anything to be ashamed of. I threw down a bunch of hay and immediately all six of them were jumping on it. Well, the two mammas just got up next to it. The lambs literally jumped on it. So the hay was attacked from all sides. The lambs can’t munch so much of course, they have tiny little mouthes. But they still go at it with great energy. I love watching them eat. There is something zen about a goat or a sheep munching on hay. It calms my soul.

The mammas baah very loudly for attention. The lambs are still mostly quiet. I am hoping that when they get a little older they’ll start to baah out in silly ways.

After everything was done I went inside and sat down with Nina for a while. And then Bodil came by. Nice to see her. I had a lot of fun with her dog. Bodil had seen me sitting on the couch with Nina. So she said “if you go sit on the couch again Lulu will come running”. So I did. And she did. Lulu was running around, jumping on couches and chairs and being very playful. She’s a real cutie. Bodil turned her over on her back and rubbed her belly… and the she slid her across the floor like she was playing curling or something! Haha. And when Lulu skidded to a halt she jumped up on her feet and ran back for more. What a great couple they are.

Not much else going on. I have the day off tomorrow. The staff at TMU are going on some kind of course. I think it was a first aid course. Also the weather forecast says snow storm tonight. It’ll probably fizzle out, but I’ll be happy with any little snow. Any at all.

The Danish football season started up today. With Royal League football. That’s one of the drawbacks of living in the cold north. Long winter breaks. But it was good to see Brøndby again. And we beat big rivals FC Copenhagen so it was all smiles. I hope it’ll be a good half-season after last year’s dreadful mess.

Yup. That’s all folk-rockers.

Hanne – Actually we have mundharmonika in Danish too. Hmm. How’s a mundharpe different then a mundharmonika. Complicated!

John-Boy & Billy – Google is a silly thing that humans invented so that nothing that is ever written is forgotten. I know goats don’t have to care about things like that, you only have to remember what treats are the tastiest. What else matters??
