Bus Car Star

Guess who was in a car crash today? Yes, yours truly. Or a bush/car crash, rather. Don’t worry, I am ok. No one got hurt. But it did get the old heart pumping.

I am really bad at explaining things, so I made a highly technical diagram to illustrate what happened.

bus crash

I might have overdramatized the explosion… But other than that it’s quite accurate. There are no traffic lights at that cross. The bus driver was supposed to hold back until the road was clear but for some reason he either didn’t see the car coming or he thought he could make the swing and get ahead of the car. It kinda seemed like both the bus and the car were accelerating as if to see who could get there first. And then BAM. They hit each other.

It wasn’t the biggest crash of all time. To be honest I wasn’t even sure there was contact, at first I thought maybe both bus and car had hit the brakes before they hit. My MP3 player had drowned out most of the noise. But then I looked out and I saw smoke inside the car. And when I got out I could see that the front of the car was pretty smashed. The door in the side of the bus had been banged in too.

Some pictures:

bus crash

The car has been pushed back a little. You can see some of the debris on the road. And people getting out. We all had to get out of course. The next stop wasn’t too far away.

bus crash

A little closer. That guy is blocking the view of the part of the car that was smashed. On that picture it almost looks like nothing has happened.

bus crash

The bus moved a bit so the rest of the traffic could get by. Meanwhile the bus driver is collecting names and phone numbers for the insurance stuff. We all walked to the next stop, just 30 seconds away. Waiting for the next bus to come. But the crashed bus started up again, apparently they managed to kick the door back into place. So most of us got back on again. A few people didn’t want to, though. I guess that’s understandable. The next bus was due to arrive in a couple of minutes. I guess I could have waited for that, but I figured ah what’s the odds of the bus crashing twice. On second thought of course the driver could be stressed and he screwed up once already and who knows if some critical engine part had been bumped around and was about to explode. Probably would have been smarter to wait for the next one. But I got home okay, no more crashes.

How’s that for adventure? Some less dramatic things happened today as well. I was given books at TMU.

tmubooks

Digital photography and digital illustration. Those should be interesting to read. And when I’m done at TMU I get to take them home. So they’re sort of a gift. Peter the boss brought it up when I was talking to him yesterday. They have funds for materials and such. Paint and canvases and books and magazines and whatever. And he asked if I could use a book about digital photography. And he said “and when you stop here we probably don’t have any use for it anymore, so you can just take it home”. How about that? They are really nice at TMU, I can’t say enough good things about them. It’s a great place. I’m glad I was enrolled there.

Here is the “art room”:

artroom

It’s in the pavillion. A little building with two rooms. I often go there when I need a little alone time. I can sit down with my books there. That’s where I’m going to paint too. I like the painting on the wall. The face. It reminds me of Futurama. Roberto I think.

Meanwhile the Danish weather continues its erratic behaviour. A couple of days ago it was so hot that I could barely stand it. Today the wind was blowing up a storm and it was raining.

goats door

“Heellooo? We’re cold and it’s raining. Can we come in, please?”

goats door

I’m not sure if that girl wanted to go out or if she just wanted to keep a check up on the goats.

Oh yes, I was talking to Peter at TMU about the playground too. At some point we’re probably going to have a talk and see if I can somehow get to work more at the playground, maybe as flex job or retirement work. That would be friggin awesome it would. I would be very happy with that. My own little place with a cat or two and off to work with the goats. That would be a good, little existence.

Finito for today. Hope you are all safe, relatively.

Well, nothing like a little car/bus crash to get the heart a pumping! Glad to hear you were alright. You describe things very well, but I like the visual aid of the accident. Almost like I was there!

The photo books look interesting. Even better when you get to keep them later.

That would be great if you could work at the playground all the time. The goats would love it. Too bad they don’t have a place on the grounds for a caretaker to stay all the time and manage the playground on holidays, weekends, etc. You could have your own little “stall” in the barn.

It’s been warmer here. I think we will be doing some painting outside today. Where is my sunscreen and hat????

PS: Frankie e-mailed you some pictures of himself!

Debster – I was having a very tired day, but that certainly woke me up. Maybe if I had a car crash every morning I wouldn’t have anymore problems with being too tired. You never know.
They are always building and fixing stuff at the playground, maybe I can get them to build a little shed for me. Or a luxury suite. Yes.
Tell Frankie thank you for the pictures! He is a- very -dorable goat! Like a mixture of Vanilje and Mads. I’m sure he’s going to bring you lots of joy. I wish I could visit you guys, for real. See your place. And your goats. Okay, mainly your goats. But I might talk to you guys a little too!

  4. Debster Says:

You feeling alright there, Plumey? You “might” want to talk to us if you came to visit? It would be mandatory to talk to us and to the goatzies! Of course you’d talk to us, everyone wants to talk to ME! Hee, hee.

Goatzies just love to be talked to when we groom them. Billy just gets so full of himself when I tell him what a pretty goat he is and John Boy hangs his head and looks sort of bashful like he’s thinking, “Oh, I’m not such a pretty goat, am I?” Frankie is more: “Where’s the food? I’m hungry. Tell me I’m a pretty goat later.”

The vet came to give them shots to keep away worms and John Boy & Billy did fine. Frankie, on the other hand, really got upset. I guess the shot stings and burns some and Frankie was really crying. Poor little goat, I felt so bad for him. He finally just laid down and I petted him and quieted him down until the burning sensation went away. The vet said some animals act that way as he had been working cattle earlier in the day and they were all bawling and rolling their heads.

We went for walkies later on and all three goats were fine. Dear Frankie didn’t hold a grudge at all and was still our best buddy. Wish people got over things so easy. Another reason people should be more like goats.

Debster – Okay, I better talk to you so I can see what all the fuss is about! You’re a very popular talker it seems. Maybe you should give speeches. I can just imagine you in front of a crowd of goats, giving a speech. I don’t know what the speech is about, but that hardly matters anyway!
I’m glad the goats are fine again, even after the horrible vet. Well, he’s not horrible I guess. But tell that to Frankie! I too love how easily the goats forgive and forget eachother. Mads and Magnethe can clash horns with the mightiest force and then they turn their head and almost yawn as if nothing is happening.
