A Summer Storm Graces All Of Me

And on the 16th day of the 6th month of the 2007tieth year did the skies open and the rain did fall. And it fell much. And for a long time. And forsooth did it soothe the warme Plumeth. Verily.

Yes, it rained. And quite nicely too. Good timing. Today was my day to feed the animals. If it had been last Saturday then it would have been heatwave and I would have been exhausted and burnt out. Not that working in the rain is great fun, but to me it is a lot better than working in blistering heat.

Yesterday I talked to Trine at TMU about the appartment search. We sat down together and looked at it. Added 50 places to my “wishlist”. And that’s only because you’re limited to adding 50 per go. Today I added a bunch more. So now I am on the list for a ton of places. A lot. It takes a day to update the lists though, so I’ll have to wait till tomorrow before I can see how high I am on the lists for various places. I think 31 is my highest placing yet. Which means there are 30 people ahead of me for that particular place. But then lots of people turn the places down when offered so 30 isn’t horrible. When you get up in the 15-20s then I think it’s starting to be realistic to have a chance. I also saw something about a place where people on early retirement have higher priority than “normal” people, so that place might be a good one if I haven’t found anything by the time retirement kicks in, presuming it does. This is all technical and boring though, I’m sure. In a day or two I should know a bit more of how my chances are.

Meanwhile, why don’t you entertain yourself with some new videos that I done youtubed? Starting off with a coupla Mads ones.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=-AflihJktRg. The sweet Mads. See how he is enjoying the scratching. He seems to like when I put my arm up on his head like that. You’d think he wouldn’t. But he always reacts the same way, rolling his head around, licking, trying to eat my shirt or arm if possible. He doesn’t push it away. It’s fun.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=YNXHCBWOJzw. The darker Mads. Not wanting to share the attention with the lambs. And the big BANG as he smashes his head against the fence.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=NqIh5MovdUg. More lambs. Silly runnings. And Mini almost trying to squeeze through the fence. At least getting her head in to the hay. Until Mads interrupts.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=J6_jpnAsU8I. The scratching stick. I found an excellent stick. It had a little bump in it, a branch that had broken off only leaving a little bit sticking out. Vanilje and Magnethe really liked being scratched with it. It’s a pretty boring video really, unless you happen to like seeing goats being scratched. It ends with Mads duelling the stick and trying to chew it.

Vanilje kinda smells a bit sometimes. Especially when scratched between her horns. It’s that buck smell. Not very strong. In fact I find it quite pleasant, but then I’m a goat nut. I just always associated that smell with male goats. Especially 3B and Springbok. Gah, I miss those guys. Anyway. Funny to have Vanilje give off a little of that whiff. Maybe that’s why Magnethe has tried mounting/humping her a couple of times? Hah. Those goats and their gender issues.

Mini also keeps jumping up on Dotty. Not in a humping way though. Just with her two front legs across Dotty’s body. To reach up higher. Until Dotty pushes her off.

That’s all for the weekend. It’s almost summer vacation time. Monday and Tuesday are the last proper days at TMU. I’ll sit back down with Trine to look at the appartment stuff again. And maybe I’ll talk to Paw about the playground, although I’m not sure if we’re supposed to talk or if he’s just going to contact them on his own and let me know later. I’ll find out though. Then on Wednesday it’s the final day. We’ll all go eat downtown and then go to Tivoli Friheden and spend the rest of the day there. I have been debating with myself (and Trine) how much I would want and be able to do of that. I have decided to try and go and eat with everyone else, because that’s the proper goodbye occasion. And then I probably won’t go to Friheden, since it will be a bit much for me and since everyone will probably scatter around the place and have fun with their kids and stuff. I think doing the whole thing would be too much, but hopefully it’ll be okay to just have the lunch and then say my goodbyes. And then it’s vacation. In theory. I don’t really know when the skånejob at the playground will start, or if it even will happen. But since I pretty much go to the playground every day anyway it doesn’t make that much of a difference. That’s how it’s all looking right now. There’s some other stuff in the works, to keep myself busy and entertained and not locked up in my room. But I’ll talk more about that when I.. know more about that.

And now I’m going to go listen to the rain. Drip, drip the drops.

Wow, Tivoli Friheden looks like fun! From my very poor knowledge of Danish (none), it appears to be an amusement park type of place. It has resaurants and alcohol (yay . . . food & liquor), marching bands, music, and singing and dancing with Sebastian & Chapper! I didn’t see a petting zoo listed, but like I said, I don’t read Danish all that well. Don’t forget “Mr. Big Fast Food” vendor to visit either.

Have you ever been there before? I wish you could go and have fun there. But still, going out to lunch with the others will be fun, too and I know these things are still difficult for you. Not to worry, you will go to Tivoli Friheden someday when you’re ready.

I’m glad you’ll still be going to the playground lots after TMU is done. You’ve come so far about getting out and about, let’s keep it that way. The animals will love to see you and so will the rest of the playground workers as well as the kids there.

Have you been to the library lately? Time to pick up a few books to read while the goats are napping under a shade tree and drinking lemonade (Plume that is, not the goats drinking lemonade).

Have you made a list of what you’ll need when you go to your apartment? Like plates, cups, lemonade, nuts, raisins, bed, cat chow & kitty litter, chairs, FOOD, etc.? Will it come with a stove & fridge? How exciting to be moving! We will expect a full report when all this happens, okay? No pressure, my dear danish goat boy . . . just a full report complete with pictures and talking videos (or with subtitles!) hee, hee I know, I know, I’m sooooo demanding.

Debster – Tivoli is indeed an amusent park type of thing. Traditional rides and then some ponds with ducks and swans and it’s located in a big forest, heck there might even be squirrels aplenty out there! It’s a very nice place. It has a music scene there too. I saw Tina Dickow live there last year. Jolly good place. But also crowded and to be honest I’m not much for amusement park rides. Plus I’ll probably be mentally work out after the lunching.
It’s been a while since I’ve been to the library. I really must get back to reading more. Any recommendations? I like the idea of sitting in the sun and reading at the playground. Only problem is that Mads would undoubtedly try to eat the pages! I might have to sit on the outside of the fence hehe.
I haven’t made a list of things to get. But I have been thinking. You know, reading the ads and brochures and thinking “ooh I must get this” and “that would go nicely in my new place”. It’s exciting! My own space and filling it with my own things. I just had a talk with my mom about some of the things, like what to do with our computers and internet connection and how I’ll do my laundry etc.
Don’t worry, you’ll all get a full report. In fact you’ll get tons of reports! I am counting on you all for emotional support after all!
