The Lay Of Luthien

Had a little moodswing. Yesterday was not a good day. It started with me waking up too early because of something smacking in the wind outside. Some door or something. The neighbours. So I said to myself I said “I can’t get up yet, too early”. And then a little later I said to myself I said “I don’t want to get up yet”. And then a little later I said to myself I said “I am worthless and there is no point in ever getting up”. A typical downwards mindspiral. I ended up staying in bed till somewhere around 4. When my dad popped in with some newspapers and stuff. Good thing he came around, or I might never have gotten out of bed.

But it was just a tired and depressed day. And then followed by a restless night because I had slept so much during the daytime. Leading to a tired morning this morning. But luckily I managed to get myself out of bed when my alarm went off. I went and did some shopping. It helps to get out, even for something trivial like that. Makes me feel more connected to the world. Instead of to my bed.

So feeling better today. I spent some time picking pictures for the new playground exhibition. My first selection comes to 125 pictures exactly. I was supposed to keep it under 50.. I’ll see if I can whittle it down some.

Also got the formal invitation for soup. On Sunday. Mama’s chicken soup. Except I don’t think they could get a soup hen, so she’s making it with a duck instead. I’m sure it will still be great. Soup for dinner, that makes me happy.

Also makes me happy: a christmas card from Selina, who is gorgeous and clever AND into geekesque things like Lord of the Rings and vulcan salutes. Oh yeah. There’s nothing like a model/actress with a brain and a taste for the finer geekdoms.

Not too shabby. Tomorrow I shall be feeding the animals. It’s actually Jannie’s turn, but at the christmas party she asked if I could take her shift this Saturday. And of course I am happy to. It’ll do me good to see the animals. And then Sunday it’s soup time. Oughta be a good weekend. Hope ya’ll will have a good one too.

Duck Soup? Mmmm . . . I’ve never had Duck Soup. Let me know how you like it.

Maybe I need to send you a file or a lock pick so you can work on gettting yourself UNCHAINED from that bed.
