With No Mindset

My sleep pattern was weird yesterday. Up early, nap, long sleep from middle of the day till middle of the night. Up around 4 am in time for Lost and some kind of dinner/lunch/breakfast hybrid. Then sleep again from 7.30 till 9.30. And I woke up rested and fresh, feeling good. Go figure. Now I wonder if I should try to copy those times and see if that’s the way to get good sleep. But I think I will settle for staying up during the day and sleep during the night. For now at least.

Watched Garden State, which was not quite what I thought it was. But it had New Slang and I love New Slang. One of my favourite songs. And take note that even though Zach Braff is in it, it’s not a Scrubs youtube video. Hmm, I wonder if the two month ban is over by now?

Actually I have something to say that’s sort of related to Garden State. Well, not the movie. Part of the plot. Sort of. I’m not even sure if I have mentioned it. I don’t feel like discussing it right now, though. I just wanted to give you something to speculate about. Hmm.

Made stegt flęsk today. Pork. Was not entirely succesful. I looked in through the glass door of the oven and it looked like it was not done. Then when I took it out I found that I had been the victim of some kind of optical illusion and it was in fact quite overly done, and done much. Still it wasn’t uneateable, and that in and of itself is a small victory.

Uneateable? I mean inedible. Of course. Pardon my inner dictionary, it seems to be slightly out of askew. Gobble gobble, fishies.

I think I got money back for my heat/water/energy expenditure. I pay a fixed amount every month, and then at the end of the year either there will be a bill or a reimbursement. And although the statement is a little confusing, it does seem like I am using less than I am spending. If you know what I mean. Anyway, the important thing is that I didn’t suddenly get a huge bill because I used too much water or electricity or heat. I was a little worried. I guess it’s that whole thing about coming from living at home where you don’t give it a second thought and then to living on your own and suddenly every time you turn on the tap you think “hmm how much water am I spending”. But it looks like my shower habits are no problem. It looks like I can turn the heat up a little. It looks like I can leave the computer on overnight once in a while. And not worry about going broke.

That being said, I’m not going to go nuts and not care about my habits. Be responsible! Think about the environment! Recycle! Gobble gobble!

You know, I can’t cook at all! So I know how you feel when you look at something in the oven and can’t tell if it’s done, overdone, or underdone. At least the pork you ate was cooked.

I know you have to cook pork well unlike beef where it can still be bloody (yuck!) and people still eat it.

I was talking to the doctor on the phone and mummy will have her radiation treatments on the 11th and 12th this month and then radiation on the 13th where she’ll stay overnight.

It’s more aggressive treatment this time but the doctor assures me it will be much better for her. So we’ll see.

I’m a big believer of keeping environment clean and healthy. I like the way utilities are done in your country. There’s that incentive at the end of either a bill or compensation for using less.

I like country but it’s the snakes, tigers, bears, and those red ants that scare the heck out of me.

If only there was a Hilton or Four Seasons in the country, then that would be ok.

I’d take a nice walk, commune with nature for a couple of hours or so, then head back to the hotel for some nice dinner.

I went camping once and when my friends told me how one uses the bathroom I never went again.

I slipped in the lose dirt and fell on my own “waste.” They thought it was funny.

    I didn’t…

It sounds like you are on the “budget plan” for utilities. We can have that on our electricity if we want. That way you pay the same amount all thru the year and at the end of the year, they figure out if you’ve paid too much or not enough. It keeps you from having a huge bill (if the winter is cold) or another huge bill (if you run the a/c in the summer).

You boys need a simple timer to set on the stove to keep track of the time your pork steak is in the oven (or a meat thermometer). Once the temp goes up to the correct amount on the thermometer, the meat is done.

LuisLemmings: will be keeping your Mom in my thoughts during her treatments. Hope things go as well as possible for her.

Can’t remember the last time I saw a tiger in the woods! Maybe a deer, rabbit, skunk, or coyote, but no tigers. We do have bobcats, and although our DNR says we have no mountain lions, people have seen them.

I’ve never been camping, but I know about finding a nice tree or bush to do your business behind! Especially when we’re out on jobs in the country and the bathroom seems to be the last thing that is put in the house. (LuisLemmings: you just need more practice!)

Now I would be more scared of being in a big city. People scare me, not wild animals. The animals will usually leave you alone, but the scary people don’t. I would have trouble using the bus like Plume uses all the time. I would probably end up in another country!

Plume, the “Garden State” movie looks interesting. I have not seen it or even remember hearing much about it when it came out. Do you rent DVD’s to watch movies?
