Run Ronnie Run

Guess who I met today?

Ronald McDonald.

No, really. I did. Well, I didn’t exactly meet him. But I walked past him. In the shopping mall, around the corner. I was there to get a bus pass. When you’re retired you only have to pay half price for a monthly bus pass. So now I can take the bus every day for practically no money. But anyway, there was some big happening going on. “Magic trix”. On every corner there was a magician or one of those “cup and ball” trick artists. Except they weren’t conning people out of their money, they were explaining the tricks. And there was some show on a stage with lots of children watching. It all looked like a jolly good time. And Ronald McDonald was scheduled to perform later. I almost decided to stick around and catch his act, but then I realized that he’s the symbol of a capitalist empire. And that clowns are scary. But it was fun seeing him walk around the shopping mall.

And yes, I do assume there’s only one Ronald McDonald in the world and that he flew to Denmark for this thing.

March 1st. And I’m officially retired. The money you get when you’re retired is paid “backwards”, so I won’t get my money for March until April 1st. So that would mean I get no money this month. But to carry me over I have gotten a “compensation benifit”. 15,000 kroners. Before tax, but still. My old monthly payment was about 8000 kroners before tax. So that’s a pretty darn big bump up. Assuming my retirement amount is the same as the compensation amount (and I’d assume it is) then I shall be doing very nicely financially. I’ll be able to put a lot of money away every month. Save up for a mansion in the hills, or something. A goat farm. Or at least a new supercomputer. Nice. I guess it pays to retire.

That was why I went for the bus pass, to celebrate my new found fortune and spend a little. And I christened the bus pass with a trip to the playground. Just to make sure that…

magnethe

..yup, no goat babies yet. I can just imagine the little triplets inside Magnethe’s belly, sitting around a little table and discussing their escape plans. “She can’t keep us in here forever!”.

And the other two doing well.

I’m doing well as well. Feeling okay. Just somewhat tired. But nothing out of the ordinary.

Hmm… March eh? I think there was something I was supposed to remember. Something on the 15th? Something about Ceasar? No, wait. Something about me. MY BIRTHDAY. Just thought I would remind you. You are all invited to my mansion for a big party. It’s a haunted mansion and you’ll have to spend the night, but that’s okay. At least there won’t be clowns.

That’s all. Hope you’re enjoying the weekend.

Good thing you didn’t include a picture of the clown or Stu would be frightened!

And just what “capitalistic empire” would you be referring to? hee, hee Better than that ugly “Burger King” king. Now he’s creepy.

That’s right. It’s Mads birthday in March. Good thing you reminded me again. I will have to find a card with a clown on it for Mads.

The killdeers (birds) arrived today. It has been very nice today with much melting snow and almost warm. The cardinals have been singing their courtship/mating songs the last several weeks (birds again, not religious people).

    Haunted mansions are scary!

Just as long as we get to stay in the same room together with all the lights on then I’m game.

    NO CLOWNS ALLOWED!!

Magnethe is getting really, really big now. I can’t wait for the new babies to arrive.

I think I would save up for a goat farm. It’s more fun!

Gosh, it IS someone’s birthday in a couple of weeks.

    Mmmm…I wonder who??

Debster – There’s a Burger King king? I don’t think I have ever seen him. We do have Burger Kings here though. Maybe I just haven’t been looking hard enough.
MADS’ BIRTHDAY? THAT’S NOT.. I mean I didn’t.. ITS MY BIRTHDAY! ..good thing I’m not selfish like Mads, eh?! Hehe.
Killdeer, that sounds very dramatic. Oh dear, oh deers.

LuisLemmings – We’ll have one of those hallogen lamps to keep the whole room illuminated! And no clowns, I promise.
I’d dig a goat farm. That’d be cool. Hmm, maybe a haunted goat farm?
