Behind Plume Eyes

Yesterday I was in for more laser treatment on the old eyes. The left one anyway. It was horribly uncomfortable as always. But at least it didn’t last too long. The doctor stopped and said that now he couldn’t do any more until I had the cataracts removed.
So now I’ll be having surgery for the cataracts. The cataracts people had said they wanted to wait until the laser treatments were done. But I guess that’s not possible. So I now have an appointment on April 22nd. Pre-examination. Looking at the papers I got it seems to be the same thing as the first cataracts exam I went through. So hopefully I won’t have to go through all the same tests again. They have most of the data. But they’ll take a look at me and set a date for operation I imagine. I’m sure it won’t be fun. God knows I’ve had enough of hospitals and medication and doctors and nurses and things poking at my eyes. But maybe I will be lucky and it will help my sight a little. The conclusion last time was that they weren’t sure that the operation woukd make a significant difference. But at this point any little improvement would be very welcome. And then I guess afterwards I’ll have to have even more laser treatment. I wonder if it wouldn’t just be easier to buy a new pair of eyes…
Today I spent some fun time with the goat boys. And also went to the doctor to get my test results. They were good. “In fact they’re quite good all around” the doctor said. Well, apart from the cholesterol. That’s still a little too high. So now I’m getting medication for that. The pharmacy is starting to feel like a second home. But other than that I am happy that the long term blood sugar levels were good. I was a little worried, because in my frustrated state I have been sleeping a lot lately and not getting exercise and my diet hasn’t been quite perfect either. I was worried that maybe I had let things slide a little. But it’s all good. And I will renew my efforts. I haven’t had soda for two days now. I have been drinking carbonated mineral water instead. And getting carrots. And fish. Fish is very good for you. I have more to discuss about these matters, since there has been a new development. But I don’t feel like wriring about it now. Using the computer is getting harder and harder. Even at 800×600 with zoomed text. It’s not good. Maybe it’s time to cut back on the computer usage.
Me not drinking soda and not wanting to use the computer…
I don’t even know who I am anymore.

Well, I am back. I think! It is hard to find all the stuff, get e-mail addresses back, favorites, etc.
I don’t know if it’s here and I’m just not finding it or what.
I think they will want someone with you after the cataract surgery. Someone to get you home anyway.
We are supposed to have much big snow on Sat. and then more precipatation over the next few days. I can hardly wait.
I’m ready for spring and so are the goatzies and donkey girl.

Debster – I’m glad you’re back. Hope your stuff hasn’t disappeared in the great goat belly in the sky.
I’m sure my parents will help me after the operation. I think they offered that I could stay with them when it’s done. In case I’m all blind and stuff. More blind, I mean.
