Indiana Smith

Not so much going on at the moment. The waiting game. I wish I could speed up time so the 2-3 months could pass and I could get the laser treatment for the secondary cataract. And see if things will be clear again.

Meanwhile, I have spent some time with goats. Surprisingly. So let’s take a coupla videos.

youtube.com/watch?v=ScxnKcqKLLE. A little Hans baah.

youtube.com/watch?v=9VBY-JzXj-Y. A little Magnethe. Trying to bully me, but I take horrible revenge.

youtube.com/watch?v=cwTozrlJw-8. A Grethe video. To celebrate that she will be staying at the playground. She actually jumped up on my back again. I really should not let her do that now that they’re so big. But I couldn’t help it, I missed it. I think Grethe missed it too, because once she had done it that first time she kept trying to do it again. She’s still a little jumper.

But no, it’s really not a good idea when you consider all the back problems I have been having. But on the plus side, I have found some back exercises that seem to be helping. Although I think have overdone it and hurt my leg through it, but we’ll see how that goes. My back is better at least. The last couple of times I have walked home from the playground I have had a lot less back ache than usual. Usually I’d be hurting when I was halfway home and it would be really killing me by the time I was all the way back. But now I can go all the way home without it getting to the “killing me” stage. After a week or so of exercise. So now I just need the leg to get better again.

But it’s nice to be able to walk home from the playground, instead of having to take the bus. And I can walk without a cane. And I don’t have to fear for my life when I’m crossing the road, I now feel pretty confident that I can tell whether there’s a car coming or not. Quite nice. It’s good to feel improvement like that.

But now back to twiddling thumbs.

Hans has a nice “manly” baa. Very deep and pleasant. And here I thought Grethe was a goat…she’s actually a rabbit! What’s up doc???

Grethe was very nicely telling you to lower your arm with that treat. She put her front legs on your arm several times so she could get the treat easier.

She must think you are awfully hard to train sometimes! (Grethe: He was learning his tricks so well. Now he seems to have forgotten all I’ve taught him. Humans!”)

It has still been raining here. We’ve had around 6 inches of rain since early Sunday morning thru Tuesday. Looks like it could start up again this evening. The goats are not happy campers.

Snickers has been rolling around in the mud. She’s a dirty donkey right now. Next time it rains, we will have to give her a bar of soap!

Debster – Haha, I think she’d make a good rabbit. She likes to bounce around. I wonder if rabbits would like to jump up on my back. It would probably be better for me than a huge baby goat.
It’s hard to teach an old Plume new tricks!
I wonder how it will go next year when Grethe will be presenting me at the annual animal show. By then surely I will have learnt my tricks!
I hope you get through all the rain okay. Maybe you should start building an ark! Better buld an extra big one, cause I don’t think two goats will be enough..
