The Bears Are Not Your Friends

Today I went and got my hair did. And by “did” I mean “cut”. I got my hair cut. It was cutted off. Some of it. An appropriate amount of hair was removed from the head of me. As it were. Now it is not.

I went all by myself. My first solo trip to the hair cutters in years. I figured since I could handle the dentist on my own I could probably cope with the hair salon as well. And it wasn’t a problem. That little bit of extra eyesight I have gotten back has really helped a lot. Being able to walk around outside without feeling like I’m lost in a great big brey blur is just really nice.

Afther the hair cuttingness I went and said hi to the goats. Always good to see them. Magnethe and Grethe both in fine form. Woolly and happy. Grethe’s horns coming along nicely. And I was also glad to see Bodil and Sif there. Unfortunately little Sif has had some problems with her leg. Poor doggie. Apparently she’s had surgery and had her leg in cast for a long time. And there’s still problems with it, I think the vet may have messed up the surgery. Or something like that. I could tell Bodil was very worried about it. I hope Sif will be okay. As we were both leaving the playground a kindergarten class was getting ready to leave too. Suddenly there was a swarm of little kids who wanted to pet Sif. That was very sweet. Sif likes the attention, she’s good around the kids. And of course she’s so small that even goats aren’t really scared of her. She’s a little sweetheart. She came running when she saw me too.

So that was a pretty good day.

I think we had 17 inches of snow in our blizzard. We had 6 foot drifts around the house. We couldn’t get out the front door, the back door, or the cellar door. My husband went out one of the main floor windows!

So we shoveled paths out to the cats, the dogs, and the goatzies and donkey, and to the bird feeder on Wed. The animals pen has a huge amount of snow in it. The drifts are way over their heads, although Frankie was sizing up the drifts. As if he could jump on top of one. He would sink to the bottom like a rock.

We were able to travel down our gravel roads on Thursday. The main highways were in good shape. On Tues and Wed, many highways were closed as they had plows and law enforcement people getting stuck and going into ditches.

It’s going to be a terrible mess when it starts melting. Think we will be having spring flooding again this year. I think we are to have more snow on Sun and Mon, but not as much as earlier this week. The temperature is only getting above freezing a couple of days in the 10 day forecast.

    Spring? Where are you?

17 Inches of snow? I haven’t even seen 3 inches of snow. Only three inches of #*&($(#*&
