For Sent Til Livets Ende

Today I washed the floor in my apartment. Proper washed. With bucket and mop. For the first time since I moved in. Which is some 3½ years ago now. So I guess it was long overdue.

I’m not sure I did a very good job of it. But I give myself an A for effort. It’s harder than you think, even in a tiny apartment like mine. And now at least I’ve gotten it done. With the state of the floors in this building, no amount of washing will ever make them look good anyway. They’re definitely due for a replacement.

I also got rid of my old vacuum cleaner. The new one is still doing excellently with powerful suction and all. But I had kept the old one, just in case. You never know what happens etc. Today I asked my dad to take it down to the trash. Turns out he gave it to my neighbours instead. I heard them talking out in the hall where he offered it to them. So now my next-door neighbours have my old vacuum cleaner. Funny how that goes. I guess since it still works it would be a waste to just throw it out. Although it isn’t particularly good. But I hope they’ll get some use out of it.

The circle of life. And appliances. Turn turn turn.

If I came to your apartment, I would track snow all over the floor! Check your email. I sent you some pictures of “goats in the snow”.

I’m tired of shoveling snow. When does spring start? I’m ready for it.

Debster – Wow! Thanks for the pics Deb. That is some snow you got yourself. It makes me wish we had it too. Although I know if we did then I’d be freezing my little tush off and complaining about it. But it looks beautiful. It took me a while to spot the goats though! You know the old joke about a picture of a polar bear in a snow storm? (or is that just a Danish thing?). Well a goat in a snow storm is hard to spot too. I wonder what they think of all the snow. Strange cold stuff that falls from the sky. Good thing there are humans about to make walkways!

Goats? Goats? Those are pictures of my pet polar bear “Snow White” in a snow drift. Since the ice floes are melting, the polar bears have taken up residence in the Midwest. Hee, hee.

That’s not just a Danish joke. We also have the black piece of paper that is a black panther at midnight on a moon-less night!

When the boys were babies, that first winter it snowed in December (they were born in February), they didn’t know what to think. They wouldn’t come out of their stall all day. I ended up practically pulling them out into the snow to get them to eat and drink.

When they had gone to bed that previous night, there wasn’t any snow. When they woke up, there was several inches of snow and it had drifted outside their enclosed stall. They were afraid of the snow. I don’t think it bothers them now. They are so woolly and furry.

I wanted to make a maze in the big drifts and then chase them around or see if they would come looking for me in the maze. But the drifts are just too high and the wind was blowing fairly hard. My husband and I decided the maze was going to have to wait.

We like to think of “fun things we can do in the snow with goats”. I know you are the only one I can say that to and know you don’t think I’m weird. Right???? Come on now, I’m not weird about my goatzies?

Debster – Haha, I hadn’t heard the panther one before!
    AN
nd it’s funny, one of the first things that crossed my mind when I looked at your pictures was… MAZE! A snow maze would be spectacular. Although a fleeting pleasure I guess. It would probably be a lot of work just to see it melt or rain away.
    Weird? Goats? NEVER!

Love the kind you clean up with a mop & bucket. Am I making up for my slacking in my commenting yet?
