Pine Fresh
It has been a pretty rainy week. Two out of three goat visits this week ended up with me sitting inside with the goats. Listening to the rain falling outside and the goats chewing on hay inside. But that is still a good time. On the non-rainy day the goats had gotten yet another christmas tree. This one was a really big one. I propped it up and watched the goats enjoy it. I love seeing Mia and Palle jumping up on the wooden staircase to reach the higher parts.
I think Mio is starting to get a little annoyed at her bigness. Maybe kids are forthcoming in the near future. It certainly seems likely. It wouldn’t be the best of timing I guess, since we’re moving into winter weather now. Next week might be freezing and snow. I will just have to keep them warm with a million hugs.
I called Bodil on Thursday. To ask how Sif was doing. She has had some minor surgery. But you always worry, don’t you? I was glad to hear that Sif was doing fine, though. And the surgery seems to have helped with the problems she had. So that’s good. And I should get to see them again next week. It’s not many people I’d feel comfortable enough with to just pick up the phone and call! But Bodil is one, for sure.
Other than that, time marches on like some kind of band that marches, possibly. Here follows the selected goat photos of the week.
Mia leaning on Palle to get to the good hay.
Fluffy Kamel. I love the gap in her teeth.
And a goatlog. The two days inside because of the rain. And the one day outside with the big christmas tree. I spooked the goats a little when I wanted to move it. Aw you big scaredy goats!
And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the next one.

That was nice of you to call Bodil to see how Sif was doing. I didn’t know anything was wrong with the little doggy.
It’s been cold here again. Last night we had a whirlwind snow storm. The wind was really blowing hard while it was snowing – about like a blizzard for a couple of hours in the evening.
Sure glad we had come home early, fed animals, and we were eating supper when the storm went through. I turned on our outside light and the snow was just swirling around in the yard. It looked like a mini tornado. There were also corn husks, from the picked corn fields, blowing around.
I think we are to have a bit more snow tomorrow and more cold weather. I want some sunshine and warmer temps, at least above freezing would be nice!

She’s doing much better, the little doggy. And that makes Bodil feel better too of course. It’s getting cold here too. I must say I’m looking forward to spending some time in the snow with the goats. If only the wind would stop. Better get out my thermals. But at least it’s no polar vortex here!
