Merry christmastime
First of all, merry christmas from the goats and I.
A little christmas card. With Kamel from last winter. Bless her. I hope the feast was plentiful where she spent this christmas.
I made sure the gang here had a nice feast. Brought a bunch of chopped up carrots, apples, bananas and bread. Four happy goats with a bucket each. And almost no food fighting. Later on a watermelon for dessert. Not too bad! We didn’t get a white christmas, but you can’t have everything. The company was good.
My own christmas was quite nice, if a little rough. I didn’t get a bucket of food. But I did get a fancy christmas dinner. Normally we celebrate christmas at home. But we had uncle Jens and his girlfriend joining us and since uncle Jens’ girlfriend is a wheelchair user and there are no elevators in my parents’ building it was decided to do it differently this year. They kinda gave me two choices. Renting banquet rooms in the building (or neighbourhood? I’m not sure) or eating at the hotel where Jens was staying. They were probably expecting me to go for the banquet room, since they know I don’t much like being out in crowds. But I thought it would be a nice thing to do for the family if I went along with the hotel idea. And as it later turned out that my mother had to be in the hospital (she’s home now) it turned out well that she didn’t have to do any cooking and cleaning.
It was hard on me at first, eating out among strangers. But once my nerves settled and I got some food in me it was okay. Good food, good people. I’m just lucky to have people who want to spend time with me. I appreciate that. It was a nice place and a good time.
I’m also lucky to have so many sweet friends on Facebook. I’ve met a lot of nice people through Mia’s page. It’s almost up to 4000 fans now. Pretty neat. As previously mentioned, my friend Katt got a whole campaign going. She made a secret group and added lots of my friends and they planned and schemed in secret to send me lots of stuff. On Christmas Day they let me into the group so I could see how they’d all been planning it. It made me laugh and cry. What a bunch of sweethearts. And I’ve been getting lots of cards and presents. Among them a couple of little paintings of me and Popcorn from Keiko. Absolutely beautiful. I’ll have to try to get photos of some of the things up at some point. It’s just amazing that they think me and the goats bring something positive to their day, and that they want to make me feel appreciated too. I love it. I have really felt the love.
Also, thank you Deb! For the card and letter. I think you’re still just about the only one reading the blog. I hope Sam is recovering nicely and that all the critters are doing well. And that there’ll be lots of painting work in the future! And maybe a hummingbird here and there. Thank you for being a friend, and being a reason to keep the blog going!
Now I’m just trying not to choke on the christmas candy. I bought too much. And neglected exercise. Oh dear. I’ll have to pay for it later. But let’s just get through new year’s safely, please! And now, let’s get to some goat photos.
One of the presents I got from the facebookers.
And videos.
And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the next one.

Good old Kamel. I sent my book club an email before Christmas with our late, great Frankie’s picture. Good goats, both of them. Gone but never forgotten.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. I’m glad to hear you had an enjoyable Christmas eve meal. Did you have your pork dish you like so much? I know you don’t eat meat except on special occasions.
How is your Mom doing? Glad she is back home again and hope she continues to improve.

Good goats always in our hearts!
I did have the pork dish, but they made it kind of differently from how mom makes it. Slightly different type of pork. I guess. I’m not sure. It was good, though. I had a slice of duck as well. Just to try it. I miss eating meat sometimes. Mostly not though.
My mother is doing considerably better. Her legs still aren’t well and she was happy she didn’t have to cook and all that. But she’s up and walking and back home, so that’s good for now.
Merry christmas and happy new year!
