Happy New Year

There’s 2½ hours left of the year here. So just time for a ‘quick’ new year’s post. I’ll just copy it from Facebook, because that’s how I do. HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONES!

Well, that was 2015 then. Two and a half hours to go. It’s New Years Eve, so you know I have to ramble a bit.
Just pretend I’m a VHS tape and start FastForwarding.
Thanks for being along for the ride, guys. I’ve gotten to know a lot of good people this year through Mia’s page. And then there are all the people I’ve known since the beginning of the millennium, way back from geocities and diaryland. And everyone in between. I know I have my flaws, so I appreciate everyone who sticks with me. You’ve been a great help. And all the mail in December has been quite enchanting. You guys have gone above and beyond. Thank you. I still feel like saying I don’t deserve all the fuss, but I’m glad you think I do and I love it. It’s like being in a christmas movie. It’s been a good end to the year.
I’ll try and think of 2015 as a mostly good year. There have been ups and downs. My life revolves a lot around the goats of course. And there have been hard times. I’ve had to say goodbye to three amazingly wonderful goat boys. Bruce, Clark and Popcorn. I hope they’re all out causing trouble and goat babies in their wake. We lost Mia’s little baby girl. And of course Kamel. Everyone’s favourite sweetheart. There’s no way getting around that. A tremendously sad thing. But I cherish the times I’ve had with her and I love all the love she has been shown by everyone. She was the perfect example of how a good personality can shine through, whether you met her in real life or through a screen. Everyone seemed to just get how wonderful she was. I hope she’s in a good place now and that I’ll get to see her again. I don’t know if I’ll ever meet another goat quite like her. A very special heart.
And there have been lots of good times as well, luckily. All the little, good, everyday moments. Getting to keep Peanut. Stubborn grandma Mio, sweet princess Mia and Palle, who seems to have taken Kamel’s spot as many people’s favourite. Can’t blame you, he’s beautiful and sweet and I can see a little of Kamel’s traits in him too. He’s certainly the calmer one compared to his brother! I love them all for their own little quirks and personalities.
I still see it as my royal duty to keep them happy and make their lives as good as possible. With things still being uncertain and sometimes difficult at the playground, I just want to do my best to keep them well taken care of. They always make me happy, so it’s only fair. It may not count for much in the big picture, but if everyone does their best to change the small pictures then the larger whole will be changed. You can’t alway change the world, but sometimes you can change yourself and those around you.
Hopefully 2016 will be a good year. Mainly I hope for no goat tragedies. Because I’ve had too many and I can’t stand them. I do know there probably will be hard times next year too. Because we’re expect babies. Which means there will be amazing good times. But there is also increased risk of problems. And there’s a high chance that I’ll again have to say goodbye to goats. I’m crossing all my hooves for girl babies, that makes everything easier. But we’ll see how it all goes. It’s not like I can stop myself from loving them. And having babies around is heaven. I can’t help looking forward to that. And to springtime and sunshine. When the weather gets warm and I get my good tomatoes and cucumbers back I am going to kick heinie.
So, here’s to happiness and health for friends and family and goats. And may the world be on a path to becoming a kinder place instead of a dystopian future. Happy New Year everyone, and may your 2016 be the best it can be.

Happy New Year to you! I made it to midnight while watching Dick Clark’s NYE with Ryan Seacrest in New York. Watched all the popular music groups perform their hits – One Direction, Tove Lo, Omi, and Elle (can’t think of her last name – King?) who sings “X’s & O’s”.

That Ryan Seacrest has sooooo many projects he is involved in. Where does he get the energy? Although he doesn’t mention goats, so I have one thing he doesn’t have! Hee, hee.

Would be nice to have some of his money. I would build an elevated goat walk for the boys so they wouldn’t have to get their feet muddy or snowy.

NY resolutions, anyone? I will continue donating blood with the Red Cross – I have an appointment next week, in fact. Keep a list of the books I’ve read for 2016. I read 126 books last year.

I want to “compliment” more than complain this year, as well. As in, if someone is helpful at a store or holds the door open for me, say thank you and let them know you appreciate their kindness.

I want to continue to spend time with our two goats and donkey and cats. Animal friends are the best, always happy to see you, love you unconditionally, and never interrupt while you are talking.

Thanks Lasse, for all your wonderful pictures, videos, and blogs of 2015. Those goofy goats (and you) are always amusing and entertaining!

Seacrest sure does get around. I think he’s behind all those reality shows too. I have often thought of a goat reality show. Seems like the perfect idea. We got a diva or two around here! And she certainl doesn’t like getting her hooves dirty either. I think Mio would like it if we just paved goat pen with a nice sidewalk for her.
I never do resolutions, but I’ll try to live healhy and be a good person. We can always try! Happy new year, everyone and you!
