A Pearl Of Wisdom

Today will be a good day. I am grateful for that.

Good goat times today. Started out quite lovely and warm with a good deal of sunshine. Later on we got a little rain. But summer rain isn’t so bad. (The opinions stated herein do not necessarily reflect those of the goats). Today’s a holiday, so I didn’t see any staff. But we did get some visitors who delighted in feeding the goats. And I had a good timeout, sitting on the bench with Mia lying next to me on the bench and Mio planting herself on the ground in front of us. A38 sitting in the shade on the other side of the pen. I very nearly dozed off myself.
Oh and the goaties, all of them, have learned to get through the boarded up gaps in the fences of the pen. Both the old one in the mud and the new one by the bench. They just slide under the new boards. Even big old Mio can manage to limbo underneath. Haha. So they can go back and forth through the pen and the pasture as they wish. It just takes a little snaking on the ground.

Unfortunately the brightness got a little whacked on my bench photos from today. Too bad, this was a cute little pose.

I used to be scared of watching Twin Peaks. But now with the real world being what it is, I think maybe I’d rather live in David Lynch’s nightmare. Also Wally Brando is president.

That thing when you want to be Wally Brando but you’re actually Dougie.
Story of my life, coming to theatres soon.

Good goat times today. A lovely, warm morning. Sun shining through a thin veil of clouds. A little windy. But these are the days when it’s a real pleasure to walk along the highway with an audiobook in my ears.
Arrived at the playground just as some kids were helping feed the horses and goats before they were let out. Lots of excited, little voices. Then outside and having fun with the goats. Today was a quiet day. Lots of relaxation. Cuddles and scratchies and yawns and just sitting back and enjoying the weather and company. The bubble is real.

I understand why some people refuse to think climate change is real. It’s kinda like how I refuse to believe that pizza will make me fat. Some truths are just too inconvenient. It’s easier to just enjoy the pizza and then regret it all those last 5 seconds before the heart attack. Only with climate change it’ll be your grandkids regretting it.
And I’m sure you can find some charismatic guy on youtube with a fancy graph explaining why climate change is fake. Just like you can find someone explaining why the Earth is flat, how god planted those dinosaur bones there, why the flag on the moon shouldn’t have waved in the wind. These days you can believe anything you want and you’ll be able to find the proof. There are probably people who still cite Alex Jones as fact even after he’s admitted in court that he’s just a ‘character’ and he had to retract that story and so on and so on. So let’s just have another slice of pizza and not worry about it.

I’m off for a trip to the moon. Or what dreams may come. It’s thundering outside and I just read a report that there’s been another shooting in my neighbourhood. The second in a few days, along with lots of other trouble. Sigh. But at least no victims, so that’s something. Even Denmark is crazy.
Hmm, now conflicting reports about whether anyone was hit or not.
And I think to myself, what a wonderfu

Well, I figured out the brightness problem with the photos. Somehow I had managed to change the colour setting from super vivid to something else, which caused some of the washedoutness and brightnessness. So I’ve been shooting with that the last couple of days. Oh well. That’s what you get for being too blind to read the menus on your camera. At least it isn’t broken.

I loved this scene. Also, the music. They need to use more Badalamenti music, that’s my only complaint about the new series so far really.
(Slight spoilers for the new series, I guess)

Good goat times today. Another lovely, sunny day. It had rained overnight, though. So there was a bit of mud and wet grass. But not enough to really bother us. The goats still sliding under the fence to go where they pleased. Except when the horses got in the way. I was pulling down some branches for the goats and the horses wanted in on the deal. The goats were not pleased with that. I don’t like when people try to eat my food either. I might headbutt you.

Truly Trump is a fine Christian. Following in the footsteps of Jesus, who as we all know always referred to Peter as “Dishonest Pete” because he would deny his name. And let’s not forget “Betrayin’ Judas” as Jesus would often call him. And did he not tell the fable of the Good Samaritan who was all “You’re not of my religion so I will not help you. Samaritans first!”. And let’s not forget all the sexual harrassment lawsuits they had to settle with the sinful women that Jesus ‘helped’. When you’re the messiah they let you do that sort of thing. And did you see the crowds at his crucifixion? What a witch hunt, truly the most persecuted relative of a deity ever. And you know who got two scoops at the last supper? And so on and so forth.

Heading to bed with a photo of blue skies and A38, because I’m in the double. More of this, less of everything else. I’m probably going to need a long sleepwalk.

Just started editing goat footage and suddenly memories of my dreams from last night came flooding in. In the dream I was taking photos of Mia’s eyes. I think I was scared that something was wrong with her and I wanted to document the appearance of her eyes to see if they were changing. They were all crazy shapes and colours, though. Peculiar. Anyway, back to work.

I had to put two bags of tomatoes in the trash. Bought yesterday, rotten already. Now I have no tomatoes. Don’t tell me I haven’t faced hardship. All those tomatoes will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Currently reading (almost finished) Easy Street by Ron Perlman. Now there’s a name that takes me back. I think I saw him first in City Of Lost Children and Alien 4 and for some reason that tangled him up with Jean-Piere Jeunet in my head. So for a long time I actually thought of Ron as some kind of weird French actor haha. Amusing now reading the book and he’s a good old F-bomb dropping muthasnorkler. Actually the first time I saw him must have been in Beauty and the Beast, but I didn’t know that was him for a long time. I loved that show back in the day. That was back in the day before the internets and I had no idea about all the stuff going on in America and tv and movies and such, back when there was one episode a week and then it was suddenly gone and no idea if it would be back and no way to find out and no idea who that guy in the beast makeup was. It must have been one of the first, if not the first, of its kind of shows I ever watched. The sort of fantasy/scifi dramas with ongoing storylines. The fantastic. I can’t think of any earlier shows like that that I would have watched in Denmark. Otherwise it would have been cop or lawyer or doctor shows probably. It was nice reading this book now learning that the show was actually award winning and fairly well respected. Since I had no connection to America or big media back then I never really knew. I was afraid it was considered snorkly schlock or something. I feel like watching it again. They rebooted it a few years ago, but even with Kristin Kreuk in it I still just couldn’t get into it. Hashtag not my Vincent.
I found out about his autobiography because I started following Ron on twitter recently. Lots of F bombs and Trump roasting. I love Ron. I wish I could post the Legacy chapter here. Good advice for the kids today.
Anyway, that’s my book report. Please can I have my cake?
